Bio sparging experiments were conducted in a laboratory column to investigate the potential removal of diesel contaminated groundwater. The objectives in this study were (a) to determine the extent of diesel degradation in laboratory columns under supplement of nutrient; (b) to determine the effect of variation of air flow in the removal of diesel and (c) to evaluate the potential enhancement of diesel degradation as a function of temperature. Our results showed that the nutrient supplement and higher air flow greatly enhanced diesel degradation. However, the variation of water temperature examined slightly increased degradation rate of diesel fuel.

This Paper presents a gm-C(Transconductance-Capacitor) which is operated with single power supply +5V, integrated in a 0.8μm CMOS double-poly double-metal N-well process. Applications of the gm-C in voltage-controlled amplifiers, filters, and impedances are presented. The input linearity of the gm is very important value and this linearity can decide the overall characteristics. This paper propose a new gm circuit with wide linear input stage. The designed total area of chip is 3.4mm×1.6mm.

During the last several decades, although there have been lots of efforts to develope the high-frequency bottom reflection loss model, the frequency dependence of bottom loss was not considered in most cases because the sea bottom was assumed to be generally much smoother and lower gradient than the sea surface. However, if the sea bottom is rougher than acoustic wavelength, the scattered field will be increased and the reflected field will be decreased. In this paper, the high-frequency bottom reflection losses were obtained through the measurement of reflected waves from the artificially-made-flat sandy bottom. The experimental data were compared with the values calculated by the forward loss model of Mourad & Jackson. Conseouently, we suggest the frequency dependence of bottom reflection loss. 기존 해저면 반사손실 모델들은 해저면을 해수면에 비해 거칠기와 경사도가 매우 평탄하거나 완만한 경계면으로 가정하므로 주파수에 따른변화를 고려하지 않거나 미약하다고 가정하였다. 그러나 고주파를 사용하는 소오나 시스템의 경우, 음파의 파장에 비해 해저면이 거칠다면 음파는 산란 영향이 증가하게 되므로 상대적으로 반사손실 또한 증가하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 임의로 모의된 사질 성분의 해저면에서 수십 ㎑ 이상의 고주파들을 사용하여 주파수별 반사손실을 계산하고, 이를 기존의 해저면 반사손실 모델과 비교하였으며, 해저면 반사손실의 주파수 종속성을 제시하고자 한다.

치료 불응성 자가면역질환에서 고용량 항암화학요법 및 자가 조혈모세포이식술이 시행되고 있으나 조혈모세포 가동화 및 이식술 시 사용되는 G-CSF에 의해 오히려 기존의 자가면역질환의 증세가 악화되었다는 보고가 있다. 저자들은 만성적으로 재발되는 Still's병 환자에서 조혈모세포 가동화를 위해 사용한 G-CSF에 의해 자가면역질환이 급성 악화된 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. High-dose immunosuppressive therapy with autologous stem cell transplantation is an increasingly used treatment for severe refractory autoimmune disorder including multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus. Although the optimal method of collecting stem cell is not determined, G-CSF-based mobilization is generally considered safe. However, worsening of disease status was reported in autoimmune disease undergoing mobilization with G-CSF. We report a 24-year-old male with refractory Still's disease who developed acute disease flare after administration of G-CSF for stem cell mobilization.

Pernicious anemia is the most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency and is caused by autoimmune destruction of parietal cell containing gastric mucosa region. This disease is significantly associated with autoimmune endocrinopathies and anti-receptor autoimmune disease. We report here a case of 26-year old man who was diagnosed pernicious anemia with high level of autoantibody titer (antithyroglobulin antibody 1:25,600 and antimicromosomal antibody 1:6,400) indicating subclinical Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Since other autoimmune diseases are frequently associated with pernicious anemia even without evidence of clinical symptoms, screening test for the presence of autoimmune disease should be evaluated in these patients.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 are the major etiologic factors in the development of cervical epithelial neoplasia. Our study was designed to validate antiviral short interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting the <I>E6</I> and <I>E7</I> oncogenes as a potential chemosensitizer of cisplatin (<I>cis</I>‐diaminedichloroplatinum II; CDDP) in cervical carcinoma. Specifically, the therapeutic efficacy of combination of CDDP and E6/E7‐specific siRNA was assessed in an <I>in vivo</I> cervical cancer xenograft models. The combination of CDDP and E6/E7‐specific siRNA had greater efficacy than the combination of CDDP and E6‐specific siRNA especially in terms of inducing cellular senescence. Through <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> experiments, the mechanism of synergy between these two treatments was revealed, demonstrating that the combination of E6/E7‐specific siRNA and CDDP therapy was significantly superior to either modality alone. <I>In vitro</I>, long‐term exposure of HeLa cells to the combination of CDDP and E6/E7‐specific siRNA induced apoptosis and cellular senescence. <I>In vivo</I>, E6/E7‐specific siRNA potentiated the antitumor efficacy of CDDP <I>via</I> induction of apoptosis, senescence and antiangiogenesis. Our results suggest that E6/E7‐specific siRNA may be an effective sensitizer of CDDP chemotherapy in cervical cancer.</P>
CAN을 이용한 차량 HVAC FAN용 DC Motor의 속도 제어

최근 네트워크를 이용한 제어 시스템은 기존의 중앙집중식 제어방식을 벗어나 점차 분산형 제어 방식을 이용하고 있다. 이는 흔히 필드 버스라 일컫는 분산형 제어방식이 여러 가지 장점을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 특히 CAN(Controller Area Network)는 차량내의 Wiring Harness의 공간과 중량을 덜 차지하고 Controller 간의 빠르고 안정적이며 내구성이 우수한 차량 내 네트워크 프로토콜로 주로 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CAN 프로토콜을 이용하여 차량 HVAC FAN의 엑추에이터로 사용되는 DC Motor의 속도 제어를 수행하였다.

The pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is a serious forest pathogen in many countries including Japan, China and Korea. To minimize the environmental problems caused by synthetic chemicals broadly utilized in the control of B. xylophilus, we estimated the nematicidal potency of 63 aliphatic compounds against B. xylophilus by measuring their inhibition activity against acetylcholinesterases (ACE, EC 3.1.1.7) of B. xylophilus (BxACEs). In the primary inhibition assay using B. xylophilus crude protein, C6, C9, C10 2E-alkenal C12 alkanoic acid were observed the > 45% BxACE inhibition rate and they were subsequently estimated the inhibition rate against three recombinant BxACEs. Whole compounds showed the high inhibition rate against BxACE-1 and BxACE-2. Interestingly, C6 2E-alkenal and C12 alkanoic acid exhibited the high inhibition rate against BxACE-3 which would be insensitive to ACE inhibitors.
