韓國民畵의 形而上學的 꿈과 諧謔的 놀이 : '混沌의 탁자'에 대하여 On A Table of Chaos

This paper attempts to look at modern aesthetics through a mirror excavated from cultural tradition. By a mirror, I mean, a symbolic artistic system that the late seventeenth and eighteenth century saw in Choseon's folkpaintings. I aim to reveal the creative dreams of beings who had not yet been enslaved by materialism, as well as the cosmological range of laughter bursting out of those free souls. Now, there remains only decadent style of symbolic system deprived of such dreams and laughter of people. The modern obsession with material backgrounds has brought about the loss of patience, the excessive tension, and a deep sense of inertia in our lives. Armed with elaborateness and pitiless logic, the continuos tension seeks to survive the competitive circumstances, establishing one as an impregnable fortress. Looking these contemporary problems through the mirror of folkpaintings, we come to realize they are not no better than artificial skills, deriving from paranoiac preoccupation. From the viewpoint of ancient aesthetics characterized by being natural and unsophisticated, most parts of modern aesthetics appear nothing but grotesque products strongly influenced by the paranoiac mind. Far from being a universal symbolic system, modern works of art are characterized by figures constructed and captured somewhere between alienated self and the mysterious universe. At the opposite side of this puzzling and perplexing works of art, there is a very simple and comfortable symbolical system established by our folkpaintings. This world composed of things accepted by people easily and comfortably has been passed down to us. This symbolic system is a kind of a vehicle for a cosmological alchemy.

요추간판탈출증에서 현미경 수술과 경피적 자동수핵제거술에 대한 비교연구

A retrospective study of operative results were carried out in a series of 164 patients who were performed microdiscectomy and 57 patients performed automated percutaneous lumbar discectomy (APLD) for herniated lumbar discs between January 1, 1990 and June 30, 1996 at the Department of Neurosurgery, Soonchunhyang University Hospital. The operative results were analysed, and the correlation between preoperative clinicoradiological factors and postoperative clinical results were statistically assessed. The major results were as follows : 1. Of 164 microdiscectomy cases, 102 were males and 62 were females, mean age was 42.4 years and incidence was the highest in the 5th decade, and of 57 APLD cases, 43 were male and 14 female, mean age was 32.2 years and incidence was the highest in the 3rd decade. 2. The preoperative symptoms and signs were lumbago(98.2%), radiating pain(96.3%), positive straight leg raising test(77.4%), motor weakness(27.4%), claudication(13.4%) & voiding difficulty(2.4%) in microdiscectomy cases, and lumbago(98.2%), radiating pain(98.2%), positive straight leg raising test(70.2%) & motor weakness(17.5%) in APLD cases. 3. Number of operated levels were performed 226 in microdiscectomy and 74 in APLD. The most commonly operated levels of two groups were L4-5 level. 4. Operative results 1) The overall success rates by Prolo's scale were 87.1% in microdiscectomy and 80.7% in APLD, respectively. 2) In younger age group (below 30 years) and in non-compensatory group, success rates were significantly higher in microdiscectomy. 3) As to protrusion and degeneration on MRI, clinical results of moderate protrusion and degeneration of discs in microdiscectomy were statistically significant, and those of mild protrusion and degeneration of discs in APLD were also statistically significant. 4) The most common cause of failure was inappropriate removal of disc material in microdiscectomy and sequestered discs in APLD. According to the above results, there were no differance in overall success rates between microdiscectomy and APLD. But clinical results seem to be influenced by the age, existence of compensation, and by the degree of protrusion and degeneration of discs as prognostic factors. If the selection of operative procedure between microdiscectomy and APLD for herniated lumbar disc is carefully done with clinical and radiologic findings of patients, good outcome might be achieved.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of fraction of photo-initiator and inhibitor in the experimental resins on the degree of polymerization using a FT-IR and dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA). Eight experimental dental resins, four different concentrations of photo-initiator (EXP-A, EXP-B, EXP-C, EXP-D) and four different concentrations of inhibitor (EXP-E, EXP-F, EXP-G, EXP-H), were tested. Storage modulus was measured by using DMA (StressTech Rheometer, Rheologica Instrument, Sweden) with fast oscillation mode (1 Hz). After disk-typed (4 ㎜×1 ㎜) samples were irradiated with Halogen light curing unit at 500 ㎽/㎠ for 30 sec, the storage modulus was recorded continuously for 60 min. The degree of conversion was also measured using the FT-IR spectroscopy (FTS-165, Biorad Win-IR, Perkin-Elmer, USA) at 1 hr and 24 hrs after irradiation with the same curing condition as DMA test. The average of results for five specimens was analyzed using Tukey multiple comparison test (p=0.05). From the results, the minimum concentration of photo-initiator was 0.35 wt.% and the maximum concentration of inhibitor was 0.15-0.20 wt.% to obtain the proper polymerization. To enhance the biocompatibility, the concentration of photo-initiator should be added to dental resins as low as possible. To prolong the shelf-life, the concentration of inhibitor should be added to dental resins as much as possible, but biocompatibility due to the inhibitor should be considered to determine the optimum concentration.

In this paper, the author intends to interpretate the change of literary trends which has been prevailed after the declination of what is so called KAPF literature in the middle of 1930s. With an intention to analyize the literature of decadent tendency which is considered to be widely introduced in the literary world of 1930s and also acquired the depth of literary arts, the author intended to tackle the problems of decadent tendency in literature which has been broadly discussed during the age of somewhat melancoly and groomy years. Eventhough there was no discriminating theories or thoughts on the tendency of decadence, this tendency has been penetrated in the theory on humanism by the name of thought of anxiety, literature of anxiety or literature of anguish. This tendency also implies the fact that it has stopped the dichotomous debate on the two main literatery trends of realism and modernism. It's because the decadent tendency neither belongs to realism nor modernism. If we are to impose a certain name on this literary tendency which could be discernable from the main literary trends in 1930s, perhaps it could be titled by the name of diseased romanticism.

축력과 모멘트를 받는 가셋트 K형 상관접합부의 강도 추정에 관한 연구

A numerical analysis and finite element analysis were performed to suggest formula of gusset-tube connection that is subjected to axial and lateral load. Through the finite element analysis, the infulence of parameters on the ultimate strength was estimated and design formula was obtained from the case-study of result of the finite element analysis. The formulas suggested by other authors and the analytical of this paper were compared. The primary parameter of the analysis are axial load, lateral load, thickness of the primary menber, diameter of the primary menber and length of the gusset-plate. It was noted that the strength of connetion by the previous proposed formulas was much differ from result of the finite element analysis, but the difference of result between the proposed formula and the finite element analysis was within thirty percentage range. On the future research, small scale and full scale test will be performed to verify a formula suggested by this paper.

팽이버섯의 저장성에 미치는 광석분말을 함유한 한지의 포장효과

The effect of polyethylene film(PE) packaging of golden mushroom wrapped with Korean paper containing 20% mica powder on the changes in weight, color, texture, PPO activity, number of total microbe(TM) and sensory quality during storage at 10℃ were investigated. The experiments were divided to 3 groups(control; only PE packaging, KP; PE packaging wrapped with Korean paper up and down of the sample, KPM; PE packaging with Korean paper containing 20% mica powder up and down of the sample). The weight of the mushroom in the KPM was the lowest until 9 days-storage, but the weight was the highest at 15 days-storage, showing 12.5% higher against the initial weight. L^(*) values of the mushrooms in the control and KP treatment were decreased, but the value in the KPM treatment was maintained as the same of the initial value during storage. The increasing rate of a^(*) and b^(*) values in the all plots during storage was the lowest in KPM and in order of KPM<KP<control. The activity of PPO and number of TM in the KPM treatment were maintained the lowest, but hardness and gumminess were maintained the highest during storage. Appearance of the mushroom stored for 15 days was the best, the degree of browning and softening were the lowest in the KPM. Off-flavor was lower in all plots, but the scores were the lowest in KPM. But further study on the fruit body was grown in the KPM at after-period of storage was required.
