        To evaluate the arsenic effect of fish endocrine disruption, crucian carp (Carassius auratus) were treated with 0.5 mg/L and 3.0mg/L of As₂O₃ for 14 days and gonadal development was examined by histological analysis. In ovaries from female crucian carps exposed to 3.0mg/L, immature follicles and atretic follicles were appeared while various normal developmental stages of oocytes were shown in control group. Body weight and Gonadosomatic Index (GSI) of treated carp were also decreased compared to control group. However, no other significant histological changes in liver or kidney were shown in this exposure scheme, This means that reproductive organs are more sensitive than other organs and arsenic may exert endocrine disrupting effect through inhibiting the development of reproductive organ in fish.

        The chemical fixation of carbon dioxide by hydrogenation over supported Ni catalysts was studied using an atmospheric pressure flow reactor. The mole ratio of carbon dioxide and hydrogen as a reactants was 1:4. The effect of reaction and reduction temperature, loading amount, and support type was examined to the catalytic activity. Also, the physico-chemical properties of catalyst were investigated by XRD(X-ray diffractometer), H₂-TPR(temperature programmed reduction) and NH₃-TPD(temperature programmed desorption). The conversion of CO₂and the selectivity of CH₄were increased with increasing of the reaction and reduction temperature, loading amount, and decreasing of the support acidity.

        SummaryThis study was conducted to investigate the effect of nitrogen fertilization(0,6,12,18,24,30,36kg/10a) on the change characteristics and grain of local corn(Zea mays L.)The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1.Plant height was greatest at 30kg/10a of nitrogen,being 187.05cm. 2.The numberof leaves and tillers per plant,culm length,ear height and diameter,and length of ear,number of per plant and grain yield were greatest at 12kg/10a of nitrogen. 3.The number of grains per rows was greatest at 6 to 18kg/10a of nitrogen.Nitrogen rate did significantly affected the 100 grain weight and ear weight.

        3차원 의료기기용 초음파진단기 프로브 개발

        Three-dimensional ultrasonic probes being applied to the medical imaging can be grouped into three depending on the scanning methods, which are a mechanical type system, a free-hand system, and 2D phased arrays system. A mechanical type scanner uses a mechanically driven transducer to acquire series of 2D plane images. By integrating these images, a 3-D medical image can be constructed. A motor driving mechanism is a conventional choice for mechanically driving a transducer assembly which picks the raw ultrasonic images up. In this paper we attempt to design a 3D ultrasonic probe which has a operating mechanism of s tilting 3-D scanning. The motion of a transducer assembly of the ultrasonic probe is analytically modelled. We propose a selection procedure for the diameter of a wire rope driving the transducer assembly and the size of torsional spring which gives an initial tension to wire ropes.

      • 흡연에 의한 급성 호산구성 폐렴 2예

        최근 흡연을 시작한 젊은 성언에서 급성 호산구성 폐렴의 발생에 대한 증례가 보고되고 있다. 급성 호산구성 폐렴은 대개 발열을 동반하기 때문에 초기에는 감염성 폐렴으로 잘못 진단, 치료되는 경우가 많다. 아직 정확한 병태 생리 및 조직학적 소견은 밝혀져 있지 않지만 병력 청취 및 임상 양상, 방사선 소견의 관찰을 통해 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 의심하고, 진단을 위해 기관지 폐포 세척액 검사를 시행한다면 좀 더 쉽게 진단 내릴 수 있을 것이다. 본 저자들은 최근 처음 시작한 흡연에 의해 발생한 급성 호산구성 폐렴을 진단하고, 스테로이드를 투여하여 성공적으로 치료한 환자 2예를 경험하였기에 이를 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute eosinophilic pneumonia(AEP) is characterized by acute febrile respiratory illness associated with diffuse pulmonary infiltration and pulmonary eosinophilia. The specific etiology for acute eosinophilic pneumonia is elusive. By some investigators, cigarette smoking is suggested as a causative substance which can cause AEP. In recent, the authors experienced two cases of AEP following cigarette smoking. Both cases had characteristic features including age around 20 years, new onset smoking before occurance of AEP, diffuse infiltration on chest radiography, pulmonary eosinophilia based on bronchoalveolar lavage and acute improvement after steroid therapy. These clinical features are resemble with previous smoking induced AEP case reports. Base on these clinical features, cigarette smoking associated AEP could be diagnosed more easily.

      • Di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate 처리 남아프리카산발톱개구리에서의 vitellogenin 발현

        The estrogenic potency of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) using reverse transcriptase-PCR response of liver vitellogenin mRNA in male African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis) was studied. Male frogs were injected with DEHP at dose of 300 ㎍/kg and 300 mg/kg body weight through the dorsal lymph sac. After 4 days, using suitable pair of RT-PCR primers, vitellogenin mRNA induction in the liver was measured and DEHP showed vitellogenin mRNA induction in only the group treated with 300 mg/kg. Any significant histological abnormalities by the exposure of DEHP was not shown in both testis and liver.

        오대산 월정사지역 전나무림의 생태학적 연구

        본 연구는 오대산 국립공원내 월정사지역에 분포하고 있는 전나무림의 식생구조를 분석하여 이 지역 전나무림의 관리에 대한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 수행되었다. 그 결과 전나무림의 층위구조는 교목층(2종류), 아교목층(20종류), 관목층(46종류) 그리고 초본층(87종류)으로 구성되어 있었다. 조사지역에 출현한 전체식물의 중요치는 전나무가 34.09%로 가장 높게 나타났고, 당단풍(23.07%), 청시닥나무(14.44%), 고광나무(10.72%), 오리방풀(8.49%), 복자기(7.80%), 고추나무(7.65%), 산거울(6.79%), 방아풀(5.76%), 고로쇠나무(5.47%), 개다래(5.41%)의 순으로 나타났다. 특히, 전나무의 치수가 전혀 없어 앞으로 아교목층과 관목층을 형성하고 있는 단풍나무류, 참나무류, 피나무류 등의 경쟁에 의하여 천이가 있을 것으로 사료된다. The vegetation structure of Abies holophylla forest was analyzed to provide the information for conservation of Abies holophylla at Wol-jong Temple in Mt. Odae national park, southern Korea. The layer structure of Abiesholophylla forest was consists of tree layer(2 species), subtree layer(20 species), shrub layer(46 species) and herb layer(87 species). The importance value of Abies holophylla was the highest one 34.09% , and those of Acer pseudo-siebodianum, Acer barbinerve, Philadelphus schrenckii, Isodon excisus, Acer triflorum, Staphylea bumalda, Carex humilis, Isodon japonicus, Acer monp and Actinidia polygama were 23.07%, 14.44%, 10.72%, 8.49%, 7.80%, 7.65%, 6.79%, 5.76%, 5.47% and 5.41%, respectivery. Especially, when predicting succession in Abies holophylla forest, such seedlings were not formed and succession was governed by competition of Acer species, Quercus species and Tilia species of subtree and shrub layer.       • 큐 길이의 변동성을 고려한 적응형 RED방식 큐 관리에 대한 개선 방안

        The Random Early Detection (RED) active queue management algorithm allows network operators to simultaneously achieve high throughput and low average delay. However, the resulting average queue length is quite sensitive to the level of congestion and to the RED parameter settings, and is therefore not predictable in advance. Adaptive RED proposal of Floyd et al. achieved the predictability in the average queueing delay by lowering the sensitivity to RED parameters and the level of congestion. This algorithm adapts a maximum packet drop rate, max_p, to drive the average queue length in target range with AIMD(Addictive Increasing/Multiplicative Decreasing) using constant increase and decrease factors. We propose a modified Adaptive RED algorithm that has a stable queueing delay with lower variance as well as the predictability of the average queueing delay. In our proposed algorithm, the increase and decrease factors are constantly adjusted to be proportional to the deviation of the average queue length from the target range and the adjustment of the max_p parameter is made in MIMD(Multiplicative Increasing/Multiplicative Decreasing) manner. The low delay jitter characteristic of the proposed algorithm will be very attractive especially to the multimedia streaming service.
