        Untact 시대의 변화되는 트렌드를 위한 리조트 공간구성에 관한 연구

        (연구배경 및 목적) 코로나19로 인한 팬데믹 상황 위기 속 우리 사회의 대처는 사회적, 도시적, 건축적으로 다양한 방면의 변화를 가져다주었으며, 또 다른 형태 New normal 등장의 시발점이 되었다. 본연구는 Untact 시대의 변화되는 군중의 건축적 공간구성 관심요소와 공간을 사용하는 데 있어 심리적 안정감을 가져다줄 수 있는 새로운 요소 고찰을 통해 리조트 공간구성 유형들을 평가할 수 있는 연구 틀을 구성한다. 연구 틀을 기반으로 리조트 공간구성을 분석하여 앞으로의 리조트 공간구성 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. (연구방법) 이를 위해 관련 선행연구 분석을 통해 리조트의 공간구성 유형을 분류하였다. 건물의 규모, 건물의 배치, 시설의 배치 등을 고려하여 고층 일체형, 저층 일체형, 혼합형, 저층 결합형, 독채 독립형으로 총 5개 유형으로 분류하였으며, 리조트 공간구성 평가를 위한 평가요소 도출은 현시점에서 변화된 건축전 관심요소를 반영한 항목들로써 1) 물리적ᆞ심리적 접근성, 2) 공간의 개방성 3) 감염에 대한 안전성, 4) 건축물의 위급상황 시 안전성, 5) 사용자의 편의성을 제시하여 리조트 공간구성 평가를 시행한다. (결과) Untact 시대에 변화된 사용자의 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 요소들의 우선순위를 파악하여 공간 구성을 분석한 결과 독채 독립형 > 저층 결합형 > 혼합형 > 일체형 순의 적합성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 개방성, 심리적 접근성, 감염 안전성에서 높게 평가된 프라이빗한 독채 독립형 리조트를 중심으로 리조트 공간구성 가이드라인을 제안한다. 또한 리조트의 객실 외 사용자들의 접촉밀도가 높은 로비, 부대시설 등의 공간들도 함께 제시한다. (결론) Untact 시대의 변화된 공간적 관심요소는 사용자 요구에 큰 영향을 끼치며 많은 제약이 뒤따르게 되었다. 리조트를 중심으로 변화될 공간구성 분석을 통해 앞으로 설계될 리조트 공간구성에 대해 앞으로 나아갈 방향성을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 포스트 코로나 시대에 변화된 소비자의 요구를 반영한 리조트 공간구성 가이드라인을 제시함으로써 앞으로 설계될 리조트 공간설계의 기초자료 활용을 목적으로 한다. (Background and Purpose) Our society’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic led to various social, urban, and architectural changes, initiating the beginning of a “new normal.” This study established a research framework to assess the types of spatial composition of resort hotels. To this end, the study investigated the new spatial components of the architecture of interest for the public in the “untact” era and new types of factors that can promote psychological comfort in using spaces. Based on the research framework, this study analyzes the spatial composition of resort hotels and proposes their future directions. (Method) First, previous studies were analyzed to identify the types of spatial composition of resort hotels. Considering various factors, such as building size, building arrangements, and facilities arrangements, the types were classified into high-rise integrated design, low-rise integrated design, composite design, low-rise combination design, and independent single house design. By considering the new architectural components of interest at present, the study also derived the following five items for assessing the spatial composition of resort hotels: 1) physical and psychological accessibility; 2) openness of the space; 3) infection prevention and control; 4) safety of the building in case of emergencies; and 5) convenience of users. (Results) After identifying the order of priority of the factors that can meet the new needs of resort hotel users in the “untact” era, independent single house design was found to be the most appropriate, followed by low-rise combination design, composite design, and integrated design, in that order. Based on these results, this study proposes a guideline for the spatial composition of resort hotels, focusing on independent single house design, which was highly evaluated in terms of openness, psychological accessibility, and infection prevention and control. Furthermore, spaces such as the lobby, and auxiliary facilities with high contact density of users outside the resort's rooms are also presented. (Conclusions) The new architectural components of interest for the public in the “untact” era greatly affected the users’ needs, resulting in some restrictions. Focusing on resort hotels, this study analyzed different spatial composition to suggest directions for future resort hotel construction designs. It is hoped that the guideline for the spatial composition of resort hotels proposed in this study, which considers the new consumer demands in the post-COVID era, can be used as basic data for the spatial composition of resort hotels to be constructed in the future.

      • Performance Analysis of a Toroid-Type HTS SMES Adopted for Frequency Stabilization

        <P>Superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) can overcome fluctuations in frequency because of its fast response time in charging and discharging energy. To stabilize the fluctuations in frequency of wind power generation systems (WPGSs), HTS SMES systems should be connected to the terminal of the WPGSs. Ulleung Island's power network in Korea was modeled with a real-time digital simulator (RTDS) to demonstrate the effectiveness of SMES at stabilizing frequency. A toroid-type HTS SMES cooled by conduction cooling and a DC/DC chopper to charge and discharge current were fabricated for the experiment. The simulation results show the frequency stabilization effected by the HTS SMES system with its operational characteristics such as real time variation in current and temperature.</P>

      • Scalable Solvothermal Synthesis of Superparamagnetic Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> Nanoclusters for Bioseparation and Theragnostic Probes

        <P>Magnetic nanoparticles have had a significant impact on a wide range of advanced applications in the academic and industrial fields. In particular, in nanomedicine, the nanoparticles require specific properties, including hydrophilic behavior, uniform and tunable dimensions, and good magnetic properties, which are still challenging to achieve by industrial-scale synthesis. Here, we report a gram-scale synthesis of hydrophilic magnetic nanoclusters based on a one-pot solvothermal system. Using this approach, we achieved the nanoclusters with controlled size composed of magnetite nanocrystals in close-packed superstructures that exhibited hydrophilicity, superparamagnetism, high magnetization, and colloidal stability. The proposed solvothermal method is found to be highly suitable for synthesizing industrial quantities (gram-per-batch level) of magnetic spheres with unchanged structural and magnetic properties. Furthermore, coating the magnetic spheres with an additional silica layer provided further stability and specific functionalities favorable for biological applications. Using in vitro and in vivo studies, we successfully demonstrated both positive and negative separation and the use of the magnetic nanoclusters as a theragnostic nanoprobe. This scalable synthetic procedure is expected to be highly suitable for widespread use in biomedical, energy storage, photonics, and catalysis fields, among others.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

      • Anti-obesity efficacy of nanoemulsion oleoresin capsicum in obese rats fed a high-fat diet

        <P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>This study determined the effects of oleoresin capsicum (OC) and nanoemulsion OC (NOC) on obesity in obese rats fed a high-fat diet.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>The rats were randomly separated into three groups: a high-fat (HF) diet group, HF + OC diet group, and HF + NOC diet group. All groups were fed the diet and water ad libitum for 14 weeks.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>NOC reduced the body weight and adipose tissue mass, whereas OC did not. OC and NOC reduced mRNA levels of adipogenic genes, including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (<I>PPAR</I>)-γ, sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1c, and fatty acid-binding protein in white adipose tissue. The mRNA levels of genes related to β-oxidation or thermogenesis including <I>PPAR</I>-<I>α</I>, palmitoyltransferase-1α, and uncoupling protein-2 were increased by the OC and NOC relative to the HF group. Both OC and NOC clearly stimulated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity. In particular, <I>PPAR</I>-<I>α</I>, palmitoyltransferase-1α, uncoupling protein-2 expression, and AMPK activity were significantly increased in the NOC group compared to in the OC group. NOC decreased glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity whereas OC did not.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>From these results, NOC could be suggested as a potential anti-obesity agent in obese rats fed a HF diet. The effects of the NOC on obesity were associated with changes of multiple gene expression, activation of AMPK, and inhibition of glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase in white adipose tissue.</P>

        Utilities in advanced power markets realized the importance of power value-added services, and they have studied power value-added services and the infrastructure for the services. In Korea, we also know the importance of power value-added services but R&D for the services is not vitalized. As time goes by, the importance of the services will be increased because the services are caused by the change of power market and this change will continue. Because this power value-added service market is the Blue ocean which is undeveloped yet, it has potentialities to penetrate world market which these services are not introduced. In this paper, we will introduce how to develop the value added-service BM(Business Model) and its system for Korea power market through analyzing international power market change, the effect of this change for Korea power market and present state of Korea power value-added service environment.

        A resistivity anomaly at 380 K in reproduced LK-99

        To confirm the room-temperature superconductivity at ambient pressure as claimed in recent arXiv preprints by Lee et al., we followed the original authors’ systematic solid-state synthesis recipe to reproduce Cu-doped Pb-apatite, known as LK-99. Using X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, we identified inclusion of various impurities alongside the apatite phase in our sample. While the sample exhibited an overall semiconducting behavior in electrical transport, an intriguing resistivity anomaly at 380 K was observed, possibly originating from a structural phase transition of the Cu2-δS impurity. Based on the transport and magnetization measurements, we conclud that the sample is a non-magnetic semiconductor, with absence of superconductivity.

        <P>To synthesize a thermally robust Ni1-xPtxSi film suitable for ultrashallow junctions in advanced metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors, we used a continuous laser beam to carry out millisecond annealing (MSA) on a preformed Ni-rich silicide film at a-local surface temperature above 1000 degrees C while heating the substrate to initiate a phase transition. The melting and quenching process by this unique high-temperature MSA process formed a Ni1-xPtxSi film with homogeneous Pt distribution across the entire film thickness. After additional substantial thermal treatment up to 800 degrees C, the noble Ni1-xPtxSi film maintained a low-resistive phase without agglomeration and even exhibited interface flattening with the underlying Si substrate.</P>

        A New Record of Aphid Parasitoid Wasp Ephedrus lacertosus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) from South Korea

        The genus Ephedrus Haliday, 1833 is a large taxon of Aphidiinae, consisting of 48 valid species in the world. This genus is considered to be important as a biological control agency, which includes solitary koinobiont parasitoids on aphids. One of its interesting characteristics is both male and female have 11-segmented antennae. In previous study, this genus was subdivided into three subgenus, Breviephedrus, Ephedrus and Fovephedrus, based on molecular and morphological characters. In this study, one Ephedrus species is firstly recorded from South Korea. Since it has been collected from Geumsan-gun in 2005 and deposited as dried specimen at Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Netherland, we recently confirmed it. Description and illustrations of the E. lacertosus are provided.
