Background Patients with asthma are at high risk of hospitalization and death from influenza infection, which Results in an additional burden on the medical system. However, despite the crucial role of influenza vaccination in preventing influenza infection and its complication, detailed epidemiologic data regarding influenza vaccination among patients with asthma is lacking. This study aimed to investigate the rate of influenza vaccination and factors associated with the vaccination in patients with asthma using nationally representative survey data. Methods Among 72,843 participants of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey between 2010 and 2019, 760 patients with self-reported physician-diagnosed asthma were included in this study. The outcome was the influenza vaccination rate assessed by questionnaire. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate factors associated with not being vaccinated in patients with asthma. Results The overall influenza vaccination rate was 63.7% in patients with asthma and there was no significant change in the vaccination rate (range 58.7%-70.0%) during the study period. In multivariable logistic regression analysis, younger age (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.11, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.07-1.16, p < 0.001), lower income (aOR 2.76, 95% CI 0.77-3.80, p = 0.040), and the presence of respiratory symptoms (aOR 2.56, 95% CI 1.22-5.36, p = 0.012) were associated with the increased odds of being unvaccinated for influenza. Conclusion The vaccination rate in patients with asthma was stable, ranging from approximately 60% to 70% between 2010 and 2019 in Korea. As patients with younger age, lower income, or respiratory symptoms might be non-adherent to influenza vaccination, more attention is needed in these patients to increase the influenza vaccination rate. A study was performed on combustion rates of three kinds of combustible substances under a few different combustion conditions. To measure the combustion rates by meight method, I contrived an apparatus using a sensitive load cell. The experimental results by the combustion tests of various combustible substances shows that the combustion circumstances, eg., air supply condition and the existence of flammable oil. And it is found that the time constant T in case of oil absence is smaller than that in case of oil existence, and the time constant T in case of enforced air-entrained condition is greater that in case of natural air-entrained condition.
An Empirical Study of the Factors Influencing the Task Performances of SaaS Users
Park, Sung Bum,Lee, Sangwon,Chae, Seong Wook,Zo, Hangjung The Korea Society of Management Information System 2015 Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems Vol.25 No.2
IT convergence services, as the main stream of the digital age, are currently on their way to include the concept of Software as a Service (SaaS), where IT products and services are integrated as one. In particular, the recently introduced web-service-based SaaS is expected to be a more developed SaaS model. This new model provides greater influence on clients' job performances than its previous models, such as application service providers and the web-native phase. However, the effects of technology maturity on task performance have been overlooked in adoption and performance studies. Accordingly, this study introduces SaaS technology maturity as the exogenous technological characteristic influencing job performance. This study also examines the relationships among various SaaS-related performances according to the different levels of SaaS maturity. Results suggest that applying innovative technologies (such as SaaS), particularly when the technology reaches a certain level of maturity, is more helpful for managers in improving task-technology fit and job performance. This study makes an academic contribution by establishing and validating a performance model empirically with SaaS technology maturity perspectives.

Background: The impact of arterial stiffness on left ventricular (LV) diastolic function has not been well characterized among Koreans. This study is aimed to investigate whether arterial stiffness plays a role in progression of diastolic dysfunction in Korean older people. Methods: A total of 359 healthy subjects without known cardiovascular disease older than 50 years (mean age 57.3 ±6.3 years, 69.8% men) who underwent both transthoracic echocardiography and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) at the same day for their routine check-up was analyzed. Subjects with septal annular peak velocity (e’) <8 cm/s and left atrial volume index (LAVI) ≥ 34 mL/m2 were considered as having diastolic dysfunction. Results: One hundred and sixty-nine subjects (63.3%) had diastolic dysfunction. Subjects with diastolic dysfunction were older and more frequently had obesity than those without.baPWV was significantly higher in subjects with diastolic dysfunction compared to those without (1,440 ± 223 cm/s vs 1,345 ± 174 cm/s, p<0.001). Reciever-operating characteristic curve analysis showed that baPWV of 1,314 cm/s was the best cut-off value discriminating diastolic dysfunction. Multiple logistic-regression analyses demonstrated that older age, high body mass index, and high baPWV (≥ 1,314 cm/s) were independent factors determining diastolic dysfunction even after controlling potential confounders including age and other factors. Conclusions: In subjects over 50 years, in addition to older age and more obesity, high baPWV was independent determinant of diastolic dysfunction. baPWV can be a useful in the assessment of diastolic function, and reducing arterial stiffness may be a potential therapeutic target in preventing diastolic dysfunction in this older people.

In Korea, angiodysplasia has not been reported until now. We experienced a patient with angiodysplasia in acute massive lower gastrointestinal bleeding. A 62-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital because of hematochezia. No abnormality was found on gastrofiberscopy, colon barium study, and colonoscopy, but anemia persisted despite transfusion. By selective angiography, multiple tortuous vascular tangles were identified in the cecal area in the later arterial phase. Awareness of angiodysplasia in acute massive lower gastrointestinal beding is needed.

Neurilemmomas are benign nerve sheath tumors derived from Schwann cells that rarely occur in the chest wall. Neurilemmomas of the chest wall are usually solitary lesions that bulge toward the pleural cavity. Neurilemmomas are confirmed histologically based on the presence of Verocay bodies, Antoni A and Antoni B tissue patterns and S-100 protein. Bilateral neurilemmomas in the chest wall are extremely rare, as are those that grow in the subcutaneous tissue but not the pleural area. We report here a case of bilateral chest wall neurilemmomas in which the tumors bulged out to the skin and were palpable. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2008;65:318-322)
