Liquid-liquid extractions by use of microporous hollow fiber modules are fast compared with conventional extraction equipment because of the large surface area per volume. In these modules, the extractant and feed can be contacted at high speed andtwo flows are completely independent, so there are no problems with loading and channeling. In this paper, it was investigated the extractability for liquid-liquid extraction of Cu(Ⅱ) from dilute aqueous solution into D2EHPA(di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid), TBP(tri-n-butyphosphate) and TOA(tri-n-octylamine) as organic extractants by using the hydrophobic hollow fiber module. To determine the dependence of mass transfer rate on distribution of Cu(Ⅱ) in the module, we compared the overall mass transfer coefficient with distribution ratio. From these experiments, we identified the effect of distribution ratio on the overall mass transfer coefficient was, for the low H, the K? was increased with increasing H, but high value of H, the effect of H on K? could be negligible.

In the microporous hollow fiber module, the extractant and feed can be contacted at high speed and two flows are completely independent, so there are no problems with loading and channeling. In this paper, it was investigated the extraction selectivities for liquid-liquid extraction of heavy metal ions from dilute aqueous solution into TOA (tri-n-octylamine) as organic extractants by using the hydrophobic hollow fiber module. From the experiments for the extraction of multicomponent system, it was known that selective separation is possible by adjusting the primary factor that have a great influence on distribution ratio, and that prediction of selective separation is also possible from the result of individual extraction systems.

By use of hollow fiber membrane module, this study examines the value of H(distribution ratio) and Kw(overall mass transfer coefficient) on the Hg(Ⅱ), and used di-2-ethylhexylphospric acid(DZEHPA), tributyl phosphate(TBP), tri-n-octylamine(TOA) as extractant, Also, shown the change of changing the acid. From these experiments and discussions, we have the results as follows. 1. In case of Hg(Ⅱ), the order of well seperated is TOA, DZEHPA, TBP. 2. Concentration decrease ratio have the straight lines for the changing of the time in each systems. So, It was know that the result coincide with theory. 3. The effect of Kw vs. H were shown that in case of H is lower than 10, H is high effect. But H is higher than 10, H is low effect.

The liquid-liquid extractions by use of microporous hollow fiber membrane modules are fast compared with conventional extraction equipment. Because they have a large surface area per volume. Solute diffuses out of the feed solution, through the fibers' porous wall, and into the extractant. The extractant and feed can be contacted at high speed, there are no problems with flooding, loading and channeling. Moreover, these modules should be characterized by low investment and operating costs because of the reduced hardware and the favorable hydrodynamics which minimizes concentration polarization and membrane fouling. In this paper, it was investigated the extraction selectivities for liquid-liquid extraction of heavy metal(Cd(Ⅱ)Co(II)) from dilute aqueous solution into the eatractants(EHPNA and TBP) by using the hydrophobic hollow fiber module. We also examined the effect of distribution ratio on the overall mass transfer coefficients.
Medx Exercise가 요통 환자의 요추부 근력 강화에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to identify effectiveness of MedX Exercise Machine being developed for reinforcing lumbar muscular strength of patients with lumbago through conducting 8 weeks of exercise by applying above-mentioned machine. Subjects of this study were a total of 30 people composed of a group of lumbago patients (15 persons) who had no operation and a group of lumbago patients (15 persons) who had operation subjected to MedX Exercise at U vertebra health research institute in Seoul. The tool of experiment was MedX Lumbar Extension Machine (MedX, Ocala, FL USA) and by means of this machine test was conducted by computing strength at tip of joint movement range with test angle between indentation of lumbar with no contraction of 72° - 0° (7 angles) standardized. In the course of extension test for lumbar with no contraction bar graph was produced by plotting muscular power of patients and secondary curves were produced by computer. The patients tested were subjected to an exercise program of 8 weeks with 3 times a week and 2 hours a session regime and the dates for exercise were fixed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Exercise was performed some time between 14:00 - 18:00 without fixed schedule. In general under the principle of therapy for curing paints Alpha Massage (johnson & johnson. USA) for treating heat on body surface was performed for 20 minutes thermally (36.7°C) prior to MedX Exercise and thereafter conducted light aerobic exercise for 45 minutes with 15 minutes session and carried out MedX Exercise for 30 minutes. As a winding up exercise cold therapy (18.3°C) was performed for 20 minutes. MedX Exercise for reinforcing lumbar muscular strength was conducted two 2 sets of 10-12 times with 15 minutes session and recorded that it improved muscular strength of the subject patients. In the course of conduction MedX Lumbar Extention Test the section of 0° - 72° was divided into 7 subsections (72°, 62°, 48°, 36°, 24°, 12°, 0°) and patients were made to generate maximum muscular strength for 2 seconds respectively. In the course of test for the purpose of strengthing lumbar muscular strength measurements were taken for 2 times in total before the exercise and after exercise for 8 weeks. Main results were 1. There was considerable increase in lumbar muscular strength because prior to starting exercise it was 796.5ft-lbs but after 8 weeks from exercise this figure was 1251.8ft-lbs (p<0.01). 2. It was shown that lumbago patients who had not operation (485.8ft-lbs) have higher level of improvement in muscular strength compared to lumbago patients who had operation (424.8ft-lbs). From the result mentioned above it was possible to draw a conclusion that by means of MedX Exercise considerable improvement of lumbar muscular strength is possible and therapeutic exercise substantiated by scientific method is effective and suitable to prevention and treatment of lumbago.

By use of hydrophobic hollow fiber membrane module, this study examines the value of Kw(overall mass transfer coefficient) on Na^+, and used Di-2-ethylhexylphosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester(EHPNA), Dodecyl-1,1,3,3,5,5-hexa-methyl hexylamine(LA-2), as extractant. We also shown the effect of additive(Cl^-, C_8H_17OH) and mixed extractant(Tri-n-octylphosphineoxide(TOPO)). LA-2 separated well by increased concentration of HCl and EHPNA decreased. LA-2 shown better separation ratio at compare EHPNA with LA-2. The effect of Kw vs. count ion(Cl^-) was shown that Kw increased by increased concentration of Cl^-, in effect of C_8H_17OH was weak.

The study carefully looks into the public sanitation policies of Korea during the Japanese occupation from 1910 to 1945. Amongst all, the study reviews the purpose of public enlightenment that emphasized the importance of physical activities(martial arts) to improve the level of sanitation related to women from the perspective of social history. The Japanese government ordered the hygiene department in the police bureau to take charge of works related to public health and hygiene from 1910, and entrusted the sanitary police in each of the regions to prevent and control issues related to health and sanitation. These efforts were used as a means to monitor the everyday life of the Korean citizens and control their physical activities. Such policy of Japan was one of the key policies that determined the success of the country’s rule. Spreading knowledge related to public health and hygiene was promoted in two ways by the Government-General of chosun: education in schools and social enlightenment. The Japanese government treated women as important objects of education in that they reproduce and nurture the next generation of colonized Korea. The Government-General of chosun used newspapers and women’s magazines to highlight that women can live healthier with radio calisthenics and workouts. During the war period, Japan enlightened women to actively spare more time for Japanese fencing and Naginata, martial arts, as they were believed to have a social responsibility to bear healthy children.

The ABB-CE System-80 reactor power cutback system(RPCS) is designed to enable continuous operation of the reactor without trip in the events of the loss of one of the two main feedwater pumps and loss of load, and thus improves plant availability in a cost effective manner. In this study expansion of RPCS has been investigated for continuous reactor operation without trip in the event of an inward control element assembly(CEA) deviation including a single rod drop. Under the expanded function of RPCS the control system will provide a rapid core power reduction on demand by releasing CEAs to drop into the core and reduce the turbine power, if necessary, to follow the reactor power variation. This design feature which is included as the new design features to be incorporated in the ABB-CE System-80+ meets the EPRI advanced light water reactor(ALWR) requirements. For this study core analysis models of System-80+ have been developed to simulate the nuclear steam supply system(NSSS) response as well as the RPCS initiation of rapid CEA insertion. The results of this study demonstrate that the reactor trip can be avoided in the event of inward CEA deviation including a single rod drop by the RPCS initiation and thus the plant availability and capacity factor would be increased.

<P>Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most frequently diagnosed cancer and cause of cancer-related deaths. Despite advancements in conventional therapeutic approaches to CRC, most patients with CRC die of their disease. There is a need to develop novel therapeutic agents for this malignancy. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine the anticancer effects and elucidate the underlying mechanism of MHY451 in HCT116 human colorectal cancer cells. Treatment with MHY451 inhibited cell growth in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. MHY451 increased the accumulation of cell cycle progression at the G2/M phase. This agent decreased the protein level of cyclin B1 and its activating partners, Cdc25c and Cdc2, whereas it increased the cell cycle inhibitor p21WAF/CIP. The induction of apoptosis was observed by decreased viability, cleavage of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), alteration in the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 protein expression and reduction of procaspase-8 and -9. Pretreatment with Z-VAD-FMK, a pan-caspase inhibitor, inhibited MHY451-induced apoptosis, indicating that apoptotic cell death by MHY451 was mediated through caspases. Moreover, the apoptotic effect of MHY451 was reactive oxygen species (ROS)-dependent, evidenced by the inhibition of MHY451-induced PARP cleavage and ROS generation by N-acetylcysteine-induced ROS scavenging. Taken together, these results demonstrate that MHY451 exerts anticancer effects by regulating the cell cycle, inducing apoptosis through caspase activation and generating ROS. These results suggest that MHY451 has considerable potential for chemoprevention or treatment of CRC or both.</P>
