Reconstructing the Significance of the Dalseong Ruins in Daegu
Lee Narae,김연희 차세대컨버전스정보서비스학회 2022 Journal of Digital Media & Culture Technology Vol.2 No.1
Daegu Dalseong Ruins, an ancient tomb complex, has sufferedthe effects of urban development and resulted in the lossalteration of many tombs. While previous excavations have focused on the tombs, research on the Dalseong fortress has been limited. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to emphasize the importance of a meticulous examination of local historical resources to authenticate the true essence of Dalseong and shed light on its historical context and cultural significance. The study examines the geographical location, the archaeological remains and the historical and cultural significance of these ruins. Through careful analysis, the study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the cultural, historical and social dimensions encapsulated within the Daegu Dalseong Ruins.

<P>The series of novel salen-based indium complexes (3-Bu-t-S-R-salen)In-Me (3-Bu-t-S-R-salen = N,N'-bis(2-oxy-3-tert-butyl-S-R-salicylidene)-1,2-diarninoethane, R = H (1), Bu-t (2), Br (3), Ph (4), OMe (5), NMe2 (6)) and [(3-Bu-t-5-NMe3-salen)In-Me] (OTO)(2) (7; OTf = CF3SO3-) have been synthesized and fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. All indium complexes 1-7 are highly stable in air and even aqueous solutions. The solid-state structures for 3-5, which were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analysis, exhibit square-pyramidal geometries around the indium center. Both the UV/vis absorption and PL spectra of 1-7 exhibit significant intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) transitions based on the salen moieties with systematically bathochromic shifts, which depend on the introduction of various kinds of substituents. Consequently, the emission spectra of these complexes cover almost the entire-visible region lambda(em)= 455-622 run).</P>

Conservation science, as a multidisciplinary field, encompasses various activities such as conditioning, analysis, conservation processing, environmental monitoring and materials research. Of particular significance is the conservation science room which assumes a central role within museum settings and facilitates the preservation and safeguarding of diverse cultural collections. The purpose of this paper is to explore the pivotal role of the Conservation Science Institute of Cultural Heritage in the preservation and scientific study of cultural assets with a specific focus on preventing damage. By investigating the background, developmental trajectory, distinguishing characteristics and ives of the Korean Cultural Heritage Conservation Science Room, this paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the methodologies employed in cultural heritage conservation science and presents valuable insights into effective preservation strategies that uphold the integrity of the original cultural heritage.
A neonate with Joubert syndrome presenting with symptoms of Horner syndrome
Lee, Narae,Nam, Sang-Ook,Kim, Young Mi,Lee, Yun-Jin The Korean Pediatric Society 2016 Clinical and Experimental Pediatrics (CEP) Vol.59 No.no.sup1
Joubert syndrome (JS) is characterized by the "molar tooth sign" (MTS) with cerebellar vermis agenesis, episodic hyperpnea, abnormal eye movements, and hypotonia. Ocular and oculomotor abnormalities have been observed; however, Horner syndrome (HS) has not been documented in children with JS. We present the case of a 2-month-old boy having ocular abnormalities with bilateral nystagmus, left-dominant bilateral ptosis, and unilateral miosis and enophthalmos of the left eye, which were compatible with HS. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed the presence of the MTS. Neck MRI showed no definite lesion or mass around the cervical sympathetic chain. His global development was delayed. He underwent ophthalmologic surgery, and showed some improvement in his ptosis. To the best of our knowledge, the association of HS with JS has not yet been described. We suggest that early neuroimaging should be considered for neonates or young infants with diverse eye abnormalities to evaluate the underlying etiology.

<P>Symbiotic stars are regarded as wide binary systems consisting of a hot white dwarf and a mass losing giant. They exhibit unique spectral features at 6825 and 7082 angstrom, which are formed via Raman scattering of O VI lambda lambda 1032 and 1038 with atomic hydrogen. We adopt a Monte Carlo technique to generate the same number of O VI lambda 1032 and lambda 1038 line photons and compute the flux ratioF(6825)/F(7082) of these Raman scattered O VI features formed in neutral regions with a simple geometric shape as a function of H I column density N-H I. In cylindrical and spherical neutral regions with the O VI source embedded inside, the flux ratioF(6825)/F(7082) shows an overall decrease from 3 to 1 as N-H I increases in the range 10(22-24) cm(-2). In cases of slab geometry and other geometries with the O VI source outside the H I region, Rayleigh escape operates to lower the flux ratio considerably. For moderate values of N-H I similar to 10(23) cm(-2) the flux ratio behaves in a complicated way to exhibit a broad bump with a peak value of 3.5 in the case of a sphere geometry. We find that the ratio of Raman conversion efficiencies of O VI lambda lambda 1032, 1038 ranges from 0.8 to 3.5. Our high resolution spectra of ' D' type HM Sge and 'S' type AG. Dra obtained with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope show that the flux ratioF(6825)/F(7082) of AG. Dra is significantly smaller than that of HM Sge, implying that 'S' type symbiotics are characterized by higher N-H I than ' D' type symbiotics.</P>
