Kyoung Hwangbo,손종근,Ming Shan Zheng,Young-Jin Kim,Jong-Yeop Im,이종순,우미희,장영동,장현욱 대한약학회 2012 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.35 No.9
Three anthraquinones (1, 2 and 4), three stilbenes (5, 6 and 7) and 3,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol (3) were isolated from Reynoutria japonica. Their structures were identified as emodin (1), emodin-8-O-β-D-glucoside (2), 3,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol (3), citreorosein (4), cis-resveratrol (5),trans-resveratrol (6) and trans-resveratrol-5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (7) by comparing their physicochemical and spectral data with published data. Compound 3 was isolated for the first time from the Polygonaceae family. Among the purified compounds, 3 showed more potent inhibitory activity against topoisomerase I (IC50: 4 μM) than camptothecin, as the positive control (IC50: 18 μM). Compounds 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 showed stronger inhibitory activities toward DNA topoisomerase II (IC50: 0.54, 14, 15, 0.77 and 3 μM, respectively) than the positive control, etoposide (IC50: 44 μM). Compounds 1 and 4 displayed weak cytotoxicities against human lung cancer (A549), ovarian cancer (SK-OV-3), human liver hepatoblastoma (HepG2) and colon adenocarcinoma (HT-29) cell lines.

Gastric metastasis from ovarian carcinoma is extremely rare and the prognosis for patients is poor. We report a case of multimodal treatment improving the survival time of a patient with gastric metastasis from ovarian cancer. A 73-year-old woman with known serous ovarian cancer was admitted to the hospital due to epigastric pain and dyspepsia. On esophagogastroduodenoscopy, a protruding mass was noted at the gastric antrum. She underwent distal gastrectomy with Billroth I anastomosis and lymph node dissection, including the para-aortic lymph nodes. The final pathology revealed gastric metastasis from ovarian serous adenocarcinoma. In this case, after cytoreductive surgery, chemotherapy was performed each time a recurrence was diagnosed, and remission was accomplished. She survived for 108 months after the first diagnosis of the metastatic tumor in the stomach. Multimodal treatment of metastatic lesions since the first diagnosis allowed the patient to survive longer than those in previous reports.

The largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus) is one of the most common fisheries stocks in the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea. The species is caught using a variety of fishing tools, such as a stow net or a long line, as well as jigging and trawling. Scientific investigations have been conducted throughout the world to enable evidence-based estimations for the management and protection of the main fisheries biomass. For example, inshore and offshore hydro acoustic surveys are performed annually using bottom- and mid-water trawls around the Korean Peninsula. However, to date, no acoustic survey has been conducted to estimate fish size distribution, which is necessary to construct a data bank of target strength (TS) relative to fish species, length (L), and frequency. This study describes the frequency and length dependence of TS among fishes in Korean waters for the purpose of constructing such a TS data bank. TS measurements of the largehead hairtail were carried out in a water tank (L 5 m$\times$width 6 m$\times$ height 5 m) at frequencies of 50, 75, 120, and 200 kHz, using a tethering method. The average TS patterns were measured as a function of tilt angle, ranging from $-45^{\circ}$ (head down) to $+45^{\circ}$ (head up) every $0.2^{\circ}$. The length conversion constant ($b_{20}$) was estimated under the assumption that TS is proportional to the square of the length. In addition, in situ TS measurements on live largehead hairtails were performed using a split beam echo sounder.
TransformRec: User-Centric Recommender System for e-Commerce Using Transformer
Kyoung Jun Lee,Yujeong Hwangbo,Hokyoung Jung,Baek Jeong,Jong Il Park 한국지능정보시스템학회 2022 한국지능정보시스템학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2022 No.6
We propose a new User-Centric recommender system using Transformer model called TransformRec, which uses receipt data without personal information and identity and considers only the relationships between tokenized product names. TransformRec recommends a product based on its most recent receipt, which includes product names. Although a receipt includes a product that the Transformer has not learned, TransformRec can recommend a real product that is considered as most relevant to the user’s last purchase. We used two commercial datasets, an e-commerce dataset and Instacart dataset, and compared the performances of TransformRec, TransformRec without tokenizing, and Word2Vec. The experimental results demonstrated that the performance of TransformRec is superior to that of the other two models. Thus, we conclude that it is possible to recommend a product without using user identity or demographic information with higher performances. In addition, we confirmed that reflecting the relationship among tokens can improve recommendation performance.
Inhibitory effects of (2)-loliolide on cellular senescence in human dermal fibroblasts
양효현,Kyoung Hwangbo,Ming Shan Zheng,조정희,손종근,김화영,백석환,최형철,박소영,김재령 대한약학회 2015 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.38 No.5
Cellular senescence influences tumor suppressionand progress, tissue repair and regeneration, tissue andorganismal aging, and age-related diseases. Aging interventionmight be an advantageous target for prevention andtreatment of diverse age-related diseases. In this study, weinvestigated whether (-)-loliolide purified from the crudeextract of Polygonum aviculare exerted inhibitory activityagainst cellular senescence in human dermal fibroblasts(HDFs). (-)-Loliolide diminished senescence-associatedb-galactosidase activity (SA-b-gal), the level of p21 protein, and the level of reactive oxygen species in senescentcells induced by adriamycin treatment. (-)-Loliolide alsoattenuated SA-b-gal activity in HDFs under replicativesenescence. These findings imply that (-)-loliolide rescuescellular senescence in HDFs and might be useful for thedevelopment of dietary supplements or cosmetics thatameliorate tissue aging or age-associated diseases.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) neck flexion exercise and the Shaker exercises on the activity of the suprahyoid muscles in chronic stroke patients with dysphagia and to show what exercise methods are effective for swallowing rehabilitation. METHODS: This study was conducted at F hospital in Daegu from August 2014 to February 2017 with 60 participants who understood the purpose of the study and desired to participate. The 60 participants were randomly divided into an experimental group (PNF neck flexion exercise) (n=30) and a control group (Shaker exercise) (n=30). PNF neck flexion exercise was performed in the experimental group and the Shaker exercise was performed in the control group for 30 minutes, 5 times a week for 6 weeks. The activity of the suprahyoid muscles was measured before and after treatment. RESULTS: Both the experimental group and the control group showed a statistically significant change in the activity of the suprahyoid muscles before and after the treatment. The changes were also statistically significant when compared by group. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, PNF neck flexion exercise should be used in addition to Shaker exercise when rehabilitating a patient with a swallowing disability.
