<P>In this study, an electrolyte-dielectric-metal (EDM) device incorporating a high-k (high dielectric constant) Al2O3 sensing template from porous anodic aluminum-oxide (AAO) was fabricated through a two-step anodizing process for pH detection. In order to change the morphologies of the AAO template, the anodization solution was varied by controlling the electrolyte. Getting the AAO template having a structure through this experiment was EDM measure the pH sensitivity changes according to the surface area. AAO templates were characterized by X-ray diffraction and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The anodic aluminum oxide template for pH sensors went through the following steps: 1st anodizing step at 90 V for 6 h (0.3 M, H3PO4); 2nd anodizing step at 90 V for 1 min (H3PO4 0.3 M); and pore widening for 30 min. The device displayed a good sensitivity of 54.2 mV/pH.</P>

<P><B>Summary</B></P><P>Phenyl‐2‐pyridyl ketoxime (PPKO) was found to be one of the small molecules enriched in the extracellular matrix of near‐senescent human diploid fibroblasts (HDFs). Treatment of young HDFs with PPKO reduced the viability of young HDFs in a dose‐ and time‐dependent manner and resulted in senescence‐associated β‐galactosidase (SA‐β‐gal) staining and G2/M cell cycle arrest. In addition, the levels of some senescence‐associated proteins, such as phosphorylated ERK1/2, caveolin‐1, p53, p16ink4a, and p21waf1, were elevated in PPKO‐treated cells. To monitor the effect of PPKO on cell stress responses, reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was examined by flow cytometry. After PPKO treatment, ROS levels transiently increased at 30 min but then returned to baseline at 60 min. The levels of some antioxidant enzymes, such as catalase, peroxiredoxin II and glutathione peroxidase I, were transiently induced by PPKO treatment. SOD II levels increased gradually, whereas the SOD I and III levels were biphasic during the experimental periods after PPKO treatment. Cellular senescence induced by PPKO was suppressed by chemical antioxidants, such as N‐acetylcysteine, 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidinyloxy, and L‐buthionine‐(<I>S</I>,<I>R</I>)‐sulfoximine. Furthermore, PPKO increased nitric oxide (NO) production via inducible NO synthase (iNOS) in HDFs. In the presence of NOS inhibitors, such as L‐NG‐nitroarginine methyl ester and L‐NG‐monomethylarginine, PPKO‐induced transient NO production and SA‐β‐gal staining were abrogated. Taken together, these results suggest that PPKO induces cellular senescence in association with transient ROS and NO production and the subsequent induction of senescence‐associated proteins<B>.</B></P>

Until now, neuropsychological tests can diagnose the brain dysfunction, however, cannot distinguish the objective data of experiment enough to distinguish the relationships between brain dysfunction and cerebropathia. In this paper, an automatic cognitive test equipment system with 6-axis motion sensors was proposed for the automation of neuropsychological tests. Fist-Edge-Palm(FEP) test and Go-no go test were used to evaluate motor programming of frontal lobe. The motion data from the specially designed motion glove are transmitted wirelessly to a computer to detect the gestures automatically. The healthy 20 and 11 persons are investigated for the FEP and Go-No go test, respectively. The recognition rates of gestures of FEP and Go-No go test are min. 91.38% and 89.09%. In conclusion, the automations of cognitive tests are successful to diagnose the brain diagnostics quantitatively.
