        Superoxide dismutase, which plays a very important role in protecting organisms from oxygen toxicity, from centrifuged autolyzed cultures of Aspergillus nidulans was prepared to apparent homogeneity by a combination of Q-Sepharose, S-Sepharose and Sephacryl S-100 column chromatography. A. nidulans SOD is a type of Fe-SOD or cambialistic Zn/FeSOD, judging by metal analysis and its insensitivity to azide and a sensitivity to H2O2. The molecular weights of the purified enzyme estimated by gel filtration chromatography are 86 kDa. The SOD seems to be a homodimeric protein with a molecular mass of 35 kDa, which is determined by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, per monomer and contained one atom of iron per protein molecule. Maximum SOD activity was observed between pH 5.0 to 7.0.

        AC powder electroluminescence(EL) device consists of seven layers : PET substrate, transparent electrode, phosphor layer, dielectric layer, two layer metal electrodes and protective layer. Etch layer needs to control to improve electrical and optical properties. Both phosphor and dielectric layer among them is more important to increase its properties. For long-time reliability, proper choices of passivation and sealing material are essential. In this paper, influence of phosphor and dielectric layer thickness on EL performance is studied. Type of cellulos is selected as a sealing material to avoid moisture. To add two type of plasticizer to resin improves flexibility and passivation of EL devices. Through this experiments, technologies of fabrication low-cost thick film EL device can be established.

      • 교량 기초부의 세굴에 관한 연구

        The most common cause of bridge failure stems from floods. The scouring of bridge foundation is the most common cause of flood damsge to bridges. The need to minimize future flood damage to the nation's bridges requires that additional attention be devoted to developing and implementing improved procedures for designing and inspecting bridges for scour. Statistically, we can expect thousands of bridges to experience floods on the order of magnitude of 100-year flood or greater each year. Because it is not economically feasible to construct all bridges to resist all conceivable floods or to install scour countermeasures at all existing bridges to ensure absolute invulnerability from scour damage, some risks of failure may have to be accepted from future floods. However, every bridge over a stream, whether existing or under design, should be assessed as to its vulnerability to floods in order to determine the prudent measure to be taken. The added cost of making a bridge less vulnerable to scour is small when compared to the total cost of a failure which can easily be two or three times the cost of the bridge itself. Moreover, the need to ensure public safety and to minimize the adverse effects resulting from bridge closures requires our best efforts to improve the state-of-practice for designing and maintaining bridge foundation to resist the efforts of scour.

        Recently, our construction industry is using various work sections classification systems for civil engineering projects. However, because the public IDB(Integrated DataBase) for the work sections is insufficiently built, it is difficult to connect construction operation information from construction site to standard specification or standard method of measurment. Therefore, this study suggests a methodology to link the construction work sections information, such as cost, schedule, drawings and specification, with civil engineering standard method of measurement. And the methodology suggested in this study was applied to a web-based work sections information management system with IDB. An IDB modeling was designed by using DFD (Data Flow Diagram) and ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram).

      • 8-Azaxanthine과 그 유도체의 합성 및 시험관내 항암 활성

        8-Azaxanthine(1), 3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine(2),3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine-5'-monophosphate(3), 그리고 3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine-5'-(3-pyridinylcarbonyl)monophosphate(4)를 합성한 후 Mouse leukemia P388,Murine mammary carcinoma FM3A, Human histiocytic lymphoma U937암세포들에 대해 시험관내 항암활성을 MTT를 이용한 방법으로 예측하고 IC_50(μmol/mL)으로 나타내었다. 그 결과, 비정상적인 염기의 N-3와 당의 C-1'glycoside결합을 가진 2는 세가지의 암세포에 대해 감수성이 좋아 IC_50이 각각 0.05, 0.06,0.06μmol/mL이었으나 항세균 활성 예측에서는 감수성을 보이지 않았다. Human histiocytic lymphoma U937세포에 대한 IC_50은 1이 0.33,2는 0.06,3은0.25그리고 4는 0.33μmol/mL로 구조 변화에 따라 서로 다른 값을 보였다. 8-Azaxanthine(1), 3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine(2),3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine-5'-monophosphate(3), 3-β-D-ribofuranosyl-8-azaxanthine-5'-(3-pyridinylcarbonyl)monophosphate(4) were synthesized. The in vitro antitumor activities of the synthesized compounds against P388 mouse leukemia,FM3A mammary carcinoma, and U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cells were determined by MTT assay. 2 with unnatural N-3 and C-1'glycoside bond had activityagnist three tumor cell lines and IC_50s of these compounds were 0.05,0.06μmol/mL against three tumor cell lines, repectively. But these compounds had no antibacterial activity. IC_50s aganist U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cells were verfied with the structural modification:IC_50s of 1,2,3, and 4 were 0.33,0.06,0.25, and 0.33μmol/mL, respectively.

        TV-CF에 있어서 무빙 타이포그래피의 표현양식(유형)연구

        TV in informational society is a communication means 3s rho best natural sympathy between human and information. TV advertisements show up to buy goods and to give strong impressions within short time, and take a role of attractive communication to consumers. The moving typography that has appeared on the CF in Korea has developed in simple and static style with the changes of the times. It also takes various reflection medium according to time and space as a newly visual expression medium and an effective communication means. TV advertisement composes the complicated message forms with language, reflection, and acoustics TV of various advertisement means is a very important position by attracting consumers attention, and takes a prominent feature with a view to evoking accurate transmission and deep emotion of message as well as positive acceptability of televiewer information. This study is analyzed the moving typography shown up TV-CF, and approached the expression methods of reflection medium. There are three study methods to develop the moving typography as follows. First, this study arranges the theoretical survey and feature to suggest interrelation of typography on TV-Cf. Second, this investigates to seize a feature of moving typography expression not only print of reflection screen, print size, direction, reading screen and sentence emphasis but also frame of screen space and capability, visual accent for proportion of reflection screen, and also suggests the expression methods and development directions of effective moving typography to analyze the graphic expression method. Third, this identifies the active utility examples of moving typography on TV-CF. Finally, the goal of this study understands and realizes the development device through the expression of moving typography on TV-CF.

      • 요천추부 신경근병증으로 진단된 환자에서 통증정도와 자기공명영상 및 근전도 검사와의 상관관계

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the extent of pain with the severity of MRI, needle EMG findings, so as to find out which diagnostic method is more meaningfully represents the extent of pain. Methods: We investigated fifty-three patients who were underwent both MRI and Electrodiagnostic evaluation. MRI findings are classified as four groups which are Disc bulging, protrusion, extrusion or hernia and sequestration. EMG findings are classified as three groups based on the Wilbom's severity classification. Visual analogue scale are described as numbers between 0 to 10 due to extent of pain. We have compared the extent of pain with seventy in MRI and needle EMG findings. Results: Correlations between extent of pain and the seventy in MRI findings shows no meaningful interrelations, while correlations between extent of pain and the severity of needle EMG findings shows meaningful interrelations, Conclusion: Needle EMG might considered as a clinical method to quantify the extent of pain in the patients with radiculopathy who suffers from low back pain and radiating pain to lower extremities.

      • 유지 투석중인 만성 신부전환자에서 허혈성 심질환의진단 지표로서의 심장트로닌-I의 유용성

        Background : Coronary disease is highly prevalent in patient with end stage renal disease (ESRD) and account for much of their observed morbidity and mortality. Troponin-I consistently maintains a high sensitivity and specificity and is most sensitive marker for ischemic heart disease (IHD). Method : We examed 49 hernodialyzed patients (22 male, 27 female) without evidence of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) for 6 months. Biochemical markers were measured in serial predialysis blood samples. For analysis, we used two cardio-specific assays for troponin-T (cTnT) as well as for troponin-I (cTnI) and compared the results with CK-MB (reference value ≤ 4.0 ng/mL) concentration. Results : Myocardial ischemia was observed in 47% (23/49) of patients. cTnT level above 0.1 ng/mL. and cTnI level above 0.5 ng/mL, were observed in 22% (11/49) and 20% (10/49) of patients respectively. cTnI revealed significantly higher positive rate in patients with myocardial ischemia than the patients without myocardial ischemia (43 % vs 30%) (p<0.05). cTnT and CK-MB revealed no difference in positive rate between the patients with and without myocardial ischemia (cTnT : 30% vs 15% and CK-MB : 30% vs 19%). The sensitivity and specificity of cTnI to myocardial ischemia were higher than those of cTnT and CK-MB (sensitivity 43% vs 30% and 30%. specificity 100% vs 85% and 81%). Conclusion: Both cTnT and cTnI are useful in ruling out myocardial injury in chronic renal failure patients. But. cTnI is a more sensitivity and excellent specificity of ischemic heart disease than cTnT and CK-MB in hemodialyzed patients. In patients with ischemic heart disease, the presences of DM and advanced age were higher than those in patients without ischemic heart disease (p<0.05). Among the baseline characteristics old age, elevated LDH and diabeties were significant more frequent in the patients with elevation of cardiac troponin-I (p>0.5 ng/mL) than those with cardiac troponin-I (p<0.5 ng/mL), p=0.038, p=0.049, and p=0.045, respectively. Our results suggest that these cTnI is the potential diagnostic marker for the prediction of IHD in ESRD patients.

        오존을 이용한 하수슬러지의 감량화와 안정화

        In this study, ozone was adopted for the reduction and stabilization of waste sludge from the municipal sewage treatment plant. The waste sludge used in the experiments was primary sludge, excess sludge and a mixture of the two. The sludge cells and flocs were disrupted by ozonation resulting in the reduction of TSS and VSS concentrations. In the case of the primary sludge with a concentration of 20 gTS/L, the TSS and VSS concentrations were reduced 28%, 33% and the TCOD concentration was reduced 20% respectively. The consumption of ozone was 0.18 gO₃/gSS. In the case of the excess sludge with a concentration of 7.5 gTS/L, the TSS and VSS concentrations were reduced 37%, 41%, and the TCOD concentration was reduced 19% respectively. The consumption of ozone was 0.33 gO₃/gSS. In the case of the mixed sludge of 9.3 gTS/L, the TSS and VSS concentrations were reduced by 45%, 53%, and the TCOD was reduced 26% respectively. The desirable consumption of ozone was 0.27 gO₃/gSS. As ozonation proceeded, the level of SCOD increased due to the release of intracellular materials. However TCOD was reduced due to mineralization resulting from the transformation of organic materials to inorganic materials.
