        필리핀 여행 후 발생한 쯔쯔가무시병 1예

        Infectious diseases imported from other countries have increased as more and more Koreans are going abroad for various purposes. Tsutsugamushi disease from other endemic area such as Southeast Asia is important, because it can occur in any season and eschar may be absent. We report a case of imported tsutsugamushi disease acquired in the Philippines. A patient presented with fever, headache, and maculopapular skin rash. However, eschar was absent. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for 56-kDa gene of Orientia tsutsugamushi using buffy coat was positive. Serum indirect immunofluorescent antibody assay was initially negative but became positive with a titer of 1:320 at follow-up, Sequencing analysis revealed the strain to be 100% identical to the TW73R strain identified in Taiwan. After the patient received doxycycline, body temperature normalized in 12 hours. Tsutsugamushi disease is one of the differential diagnoses that should be included for patients with fever who have recently returned from Southeast Asian countries. PCR for O. tsutsugamushi using patient's buffy coat was useful for early diagnosis.

        객체 지향 방법은 많은 장점을 가지고 있지만, 지금까지 발전시켜온 전통적인 방법을 버릴수 없다든지, 객체 지향 기법의 전문가가 많지 않기 때문에 성공의 보장도 확실하지 않는 이유들 때문에 시스템 개발에 쉽게 수용 하지 못하고 있다. 구조적 분석 방법을 객체 지향방법으로 변환하려는 노력이 많아지고 있지만 정형화된 방법은 없다. 본 논문에서는 전통적인 구조적 분석 모델로부터 객체 지향 모델로의 변환방법을 검토하고 구조적 분석 모델, 즉 자료흐름도,자료사전,개체관계도 모델로부터 객체지향의 대표적 모델인 OMT의 객체모델로의 사상에 대한 새로운 방법을 제안한다.

      • 아급성 Ethanol 중독시 고뇨산혈증에 미치는 Pyrazinamide의 영향

        Ethanol 투여후 pyrazinamide 처리로 유도되어지는고 뇨산혈증의 발생 기전과 규명하고자 ethanol을 rat에 아급성적으로 투여하고 pyrazinoic acid의 대사 과정, 뇨산의 혈증 농도, 뇨산의 생합성 및 분해과정에 관여하는 효소의 활성 변화를 비교검토하였을 때 pyrazina-mide의 대사산물인 pyazinoic acid의 생성과정은 증가되었으나 pyrazinoic acid의 분해과정은 영향이 없었다. Ethanol 아급성 중독상태에 pyrazinamide를 투여하였을 때 혈액중의 뇨산 농도는 대조군에 비해 약 123% 정도현저히 증가되었다. 뇨산의 분해 효소인 urixase의 활성변화와 생합성에 관여하는 adenosine deaminase, purine nucleoside phos-phorylase 및 guanine deaminase의 활성변화에는 별다른 관련성이 없었으며 선책적으로 xanthine oxidase 활성만이 유도되어 나타나는 결과였다. In the present work, the purpose was to onbserve the effect of subacute ethanol intoxication on the changes of purine metabnolic pathway after pyraxzinamide administration in rats. In vitro test, it was observed that pyrazinamide deaminasing-enzyme activity was significantly increased and pyrazinoic acid oxidizing-enzyme activity was not affected by ethanol-administrated rat's cytosolic liver. When uric acid level in blood was estimated after pyrazinamide treatment, the blood level was increased in comparison to control group of subacute ethanol intoxication. Ethanol administration did not affect activities of guanine deaminase, adenosine deaminase, purine nucleoside phosphorylase and uricase, on the other hand, xanthing oxidase activity was significantly increased as compared with control. These results suggest that hyperuricemia incuced by the administration of pyrazinamide after subacute ethanol intoxication may be result from the selective increase of xanthine oxidase activity.

      • 단세포군항체 및 Cross-Agglutinin Absorption 방법에 의한 렙토스피라균의 동정

        Since 1984, many cultures of Leptospira interrogans have been isolated from patients and wild rodents. The majority of isolates were identified as serogroup Icterohemorrhagiae serovar lai and two isolates(HS7, HK14) were identified as serogroup Canicola serovar canicola. Yet some isolates(18R, 30R, HM3, AP33, CH88-19, HK12) did not belong to any known serovar in Icterohemorragiae. Therefore, we tried to cross-agglutinin absorption test(CATT) to identify the serovar of above seven local strains with reference strains. We also tried to analyze the distribution of major antigenic determinants among reference strains and local strains in Korea with absorbed sera, by means of monoclonal antibodies and factor analysis. Local strains, AP33 could be identified serovar lai by CATT and using monoclonal antibodies. We proved that AP33 shared the major common antigen with serovar lai by factor analysis. Local strain, 30R and HM3 were proved same strain using CATT, monoclonal antibodies, and factor analysis. Local strain, 18R, 30R, HM3, CH88-12, and CH88-19 were antigenically different from reference strains.

        난소 절제 백서에서 17β-Estradiol 투여가 골조직에 미치는 영향

        This study was focused on the changes of mineral density and histopathologic features of osseous tissue when ovariectomized rats were administered with 17β-Estradiol. Forty-eight rats, 11 weeks of age, were divided into four groups, which are a normal control group, an ovariectomized control group, an experimental group 1 which was given 17β-estradiol immediately after the ovariectomy and an experimental group 2 which was given 17β-Estradiol 3 weeks after the ovariectomy. They were sacrificed at different time intervals (1, 3, 4 and 8 weeks) for histopathologic observation, histo-morphometric analysis and immunohistochemistry with fibronectin and CD34 antibody. Most rats showed the increase in bone density, which was the least in the ovariectomized control group. In histopathologic features of both the mandible and the tibia, the osteoclasts in bone marrow increased in the ovariectomized control group of more than 3 weeks. In histomorphometric analysis, the osteoclasts increased in both the mandible and the tibia in length of time. In comparison of the increase of osteoclast between four groups, it decreased as following order: the ovariectomized control group, the expermiental group 2 the experimental group 1, the normal control group. Especially the experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 at 4 weeks showed remarkable changes both in the mandible and in the tibia in comparison with the ovariectomized control group. In immunohistochemical anaylsis with fibronectin, the more week-ovariectomized control groups of both the mandible and the tibia showed weaker fibronectin expression in osteoblast and bone marrow. Among the experimental group 1 and 2, 4-week group showed the strongest expression. In immunohistochemical analysis with CD34, the mandible showed generally weak expression but 8-week experimental group 1 and 2 showed relatively moderate expression in osteoblast and bone marrow. In case of the same groups of tibia, 4-week group show the strongest expression. With all these results, it is assumed that 17β-Estradiol has more effect on the development and differentiation of osteoclasts than those of osteoblasts and contributes to the initial bone formation most efficiently by inhibiting osteoclastic action and stimulating osteoblasts.

      • 전통 발효 식품으로부터 분리한 젖산균들의 생리 기능성

        To screen useful bacteria for functional food industry in strains from Korean fermented foods, physiological functionality of lactic acid bacteria from Korean kimchi were investigated. Antihypertensive angiotensin Ⅰ-converting enzyme(ACE) inhibitory activity were showed very high 56.0~85.2% in all lactic acid bacteria and especially, the highest ACE inhibitory activity of 87.0% was showed in Leuconostoc mesenteroides subsp. mesenteroides LB-643. Whitening tyrosinase inhibitory activity and anti-aging antioxidant activity were showed the highest in Lactobacillus brevis LB-879(72.1%) and Lactobacillus graminis LB-350(32.2%), respectively. Anti-gout xanthin oxidase inhibitory and fibrinolytic activity were also high in Lactobacillus paraplantarum LB-354(17.8%) and Lactobacillus pentosus LB-225(clear zone; 17.0㎜), respectively.
