Energy storage capabilities of nitrogen-enriched pyropolymer nanoparticles fabricated through rapid pyrolysis

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Nanostructured pyropolymers contain significant amounts of redox-active heteroatoms, have high specific surface areas, and a defective carbon microstructure, indicating good potential for pseudocapacitive charge storage. In this study, nitrogen-enriched pyropolymer nanoparticles (N-PNs-50) are fabricated from polyaniline nanotubes through rapid pyrolysis at 50 °C min<SUP>−1</SUP>. N-PNs-50 exhibit a nitrogen content of 9.8 wt%, a high specific surface area of 875.8 m<SUP>2</SUP> g<SUP>−1</SUP>, and an amorphous carbon structure with an I<SUB> <I>D</I> </SUB>/I<SUB> <I>G</I> </SUB> intensity ratio of 0.95. These unique characteristics lead to good electrochemical performances, in which reversible capacities of 660 and 255 mAh g<SUP>−1</SUP> are achieved for Li-ion and Na-ion storage, respectively, with favorable voltage characteristics (<1.5 V for Li-ions and <1.2 V for Na-ions). Biodistribution and PET imaging of [¹⁸F]FMISO in mousecolon cancer xenografted mice

Hypoxia is an important adverse prognostic factor for tumor progression and is a major cause of failure of radiation therapy. In case of short-term hypoxia, the metabolism can recover to normal, but if hypoxia persists, it causes irreversible cell damage and finally leads to death. So a hypoxia marker would be very useful in oncology. In particular, 2-nitroimidazole can be reduced to form a reactive chemical species, which can bind irreversibly to cell components in the absence of sufficient oxygen, thus, the development of radiolabeled nitroimidazole derivatives for the imaging of hypoxia remains an active field of research to improve cancer therapy result. 2-nitroimidazole based hypoxia marker, [$^{18}F$]FMISO holds promise for the evaluation of tumor hypoxia by Positron emission tomography (PET), at both global and local levels. In the present study, [$^{18}F$]FMISO was synthesized using an automatic synthesis module with high radiochemical purity (>99%) in 60 min. Immunohistochemical analysis using pimonidazole confirmed the presence of hypoxia in xenografted CT-26 tumor tissue. A biodistribution study in CT-26 xenografted mice showed that the increased tumor-to-muscle ratio and tumor-to-blood ratios from 10 to 120 min post-injection. In the PET study, [$^{18}F$]FMISO also showed increased tumor-to-muscle ratios from 10 to 120 min post-injection. In conclusion, this study demonstrates the feasibility and utility of [$^{18}F$]FMISO for imaging hypoxiain mouse colon cancer model using small animal PET.

화병척도와 연구용 화병진단기준 개발

Objectives The aim of this study was to identify the characteristic symptoms for diagnosis of Hwabyung (HB), a culture-related anger syndrome in Korea; to construct a rating scale for HB and test its validity and reliability; and propose diagnostic criteria for HB. Methods Subjects were male and female Korean patients, who were diagnosed following Structured Clinical Interview (SCID) as having depressive disorders, anxiety disorders and somatoform disorders and who reported as having self-labeled HB. A HB Scale was constructed with 22 of the most common symptoms of HB as identified by previous studies. The HB scale's inter-rated reliability was tested with 60 subjects. Its validity was tested by comparison between a HB only group(n=47) and depressive disorder only group (n=44). Logistic regression analysis was conducted to make a predictive model of HB. Based on these results diagnostic criteria for HB was proposed. Results Inter-rated reliability in each of all the items and the total score of the HB Scale were statistically significant. The HB scale differentiated HB from depressive disorder with statistical significance. In logistic regression analysis, the ability of the HB model to predict symptoms of heat sensation, ukwool/boon (feeling of unfairness), and subjective anger was high with sensitivity of 80.0%, specificity of 88.4% accuracy of 84.1% and area under ROC of 0.92. Based on these results and information from previous research, diagnostic criteria of HB were formulated. Conclusion The HB Scale was found to be reliable and valid. Consequently, diagnostic criteria of HB were proposed, to include subject anger, "kwool/boon" (Feeling of unfairness), expressed anger, heat sensation, hostility, "haan", pushing-up in the chest, epigastric mass, respiratory stuffiness, palpitation, dry mouth, sighing, racing thoughts, and lamentation.

Thunderclap headache is a hyperacute, severe headache that is so named because the pain strikes suddenly and severely, and is sometimes a sign of a medical emergency. We report a case of pheochromocytoma in the urinary bladder in a 48-year-old woman who presented with recurrent thunderclap headache after voiding and exercise. So we think thunderclap headache during or immediately after micturition may be an important diagnostic clue of bladder pheochromocytoma.

The experiment was undertaken to determine the combined effects of aversive, modeling, and verbal instruction on the self-stimulatory stereotyped benavior exhibited by a three-year two-month old with developmental delay, The behavioral interventions were consisted of lemon juice(aversive), behavioral rehearsal(moleling), verbal instruction(prompting), and defferential reinforcement of incompatible behavior (DRI), and continued over 73 sessions. The data gathered across multitreatments design (A-BCD-A-BD-DE) were visually analyzed. The results revealed that all the treatments reduced the occurrences of stereotyped behavior, the significant differences among any interventions were not found, and more importantly, the behavior effects were maintained.

교잡종 찰옥수수에 대한 연구 III : Ⅲ. 국내 옥수수 유전자원 수집종에 대한 주요 특성 분포

2006년 국내 각 지역으로부터 수집된 재래종옥수수 유전자원을 관행방법에 의해 파종하고 주요특성별로 분포도를 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 수집된 유전자원에 대한 발아율은 대부분 80∼100%이상의 분포를 보였으나, 일부 수집계통에는 30% 미만의 극히 저조한 발아율을 보였다. 2. 수집자원에 대한 초기생육을 살펴보면 극히 생육이 저조한 것이 40% 정도를 보였고, 극히 우수한 자원은 3%미만으로 나타났다. 3. 간장은 대부분이 150∼199cm범위에 55%가 분포하고 있었으나, l00cm이하가 5%, 250cm이상이 8%로 나타나 수집종간에 큰 차이를 보였다. 4. 주당 분얼수는 1개 미만이 40%의 분포를 보였으나, 일부 수집종에서 2 내지 3개의 분얼수를 보이는 계통이 확인되었다. 5. 개화소요일수는 61∼64일의 범위에서 40%, 57∼60일의 범위에서 30%의 분포를 보였으며, 특히 일부 수집종의 경우 55일 이하의 극조생종도 10% 정도의 분포를 보였다. 6. 이삭길이는 대부분 11∼15cm범위에 60%가 포함되어 있으나, 일부계통에서 5cm미만이 2%, 16∼20cm의 이삭길이도 10%가 분포하였다. Germination ratio on the 300 collected genetic resources showed 80 to 100 percentage, but those of some accessions were very low as below 30 percentage. Early growth phase of most of these lines were very poor while some collected lines were very vigor. Range of stem height showed from 150 to 199cm, but that of some accessions showed below 100cm as five percentage and some of them was over 250cm as eight percentage. Number of tillers per plant appeared less one but some collected lines have two to three tillers per plant. In days to tasseling, some accessions showed more four per plant. Ear length of these accession showed above 60 percentage as 11 to 15cm, while that of some collected lines showed over 10 percentage as 16 to 20cm.
