        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fracture resistance of the marginal ridge of posterior teeth with class Ⅰ & Ⅱ silver amalgam, posterior composite, and composite resin inlay. The seventy-two extracted caries free human upper premolars were divided into six groups. Class Ⅰ and Class Ⅱ cavities were prepared and filled with amalgam, light curing composite resin, and resin inlay. Fracture strength was measured at the marginal ridge with "Instron". The results were as follows ; 1. Class Ⅰ restorations were stronger than Class Ⅱ in amalgam and composite resin filled group(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in strength between Class Ⅰ resin inlay and Class Ⅰ resin inlay. 2. In the Class Ⅰ and the Class Ⅱ restorations, the best fracture resistance obtained in resin inlay, followed by composite resin, amalgam(P<0.05). In the Class Ⅰ restorations, result was the same but had no significant difference. 3. Class Ⅰ composite resin and Class Ⅰ resin inlay were stronger than Class Ⅱ amalgam(P<0.05). 4. In the Class Ⅰ restorations, when the marginal ridge was fractured, only enamel or enamel/material were involved. In the Class Ⅱ composite resin and Class Ⅱ resin inlay, enamel/material or only material were involved. In the Class Ⅱ amalgam, only material was fracture.

        In this study, we have investigated potential energies of β-D glucopyranose in vacuum using QM and MM methods. In QM calculation, the local minimum geometries have been optimized in the level of B3LYP/6-311++G**. And we use AMBER package program and GLYCAM_06 force field for MM optimization. As a consequence, we confirm that GLYCAM_06 force field matched QM calculation roughly.

        Child abuse and neglect are also becoming a serious threat to the health of children in Korea. Most of abused or neglected children are suffered from some mental problems, Psychiatrists are a important position to evaluate and/or treat the emotional or behavioral problems resulting from child abuse or neglect, It is crucial that psychiatrists define their role and develop the appropriate clinical skills to manage child abuse or neglect effectively. This article reviews the clinically relevant literature on the child abuse and neglect including the strategic agenda of the Korean Medical Association for promoting of optimal child health and development comprehensively.

      • Chromobacterium chocolatum에서의 lipase유전자분리 및 발현

        A kind of vitamin B group. (+)-biotin has been known to have an influence on the growth of an organism and used for feeding material. Biotin has been synthesized by chemical method, and then crystallized with d-ephedrine to get the optically pure form. Lipase have been used for the resolution of chiral compound from racemic mixture. One of intermediates in the biotin synthesis is a diester which is a meso compound. Chromobacterium chocolatum has applied to hydrolyze one methyl ester group. The mono ester was successfully used for the synthesis of (+)-biotin as well as high optical purity. The goal of this research is the genetic cloning of lipase which hydrolyze the dimethyl ester from Chromobacterium chocolatum and identify its enzymatic reaction.

      • 비파괴적 분석법을 활용한 활음진 함유 에멀젼의 인체효능평가

        최근 한방화장품이 각광을 받으면서 한방에서 말하는 피부개선효과에 대한 적절한 평가법을 찾는 연구가 많이 수행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 피부 항산화 효과가 우수한 산사자, 당귀, 홍화, 두충, 숙지황의 초임계추출물 (활음진, 活陰眞)의 혈액순환 개선효과를 적외선 열화상 이미지 분석 및 LaserDoppler Perfusion Imager를 이용한 분석을 통해 평가하였다. 평소 손발이 차가운 여성 11명을 대상으로 활음진을 포함한 에멀젼을 1주일간 도포하게 하였으며, 도포전과 1주일간 사용한 후 피부 온도와 혈류량을 비교하였다. 그 결과 얼굴의 피부 온도가 증가하였고, 이마, 눈위, 뺨정면 부위에서 시료 사용 후 유의한 증가를 보였다. 본 연구를 통하여 활음진 성분을 포함한 에멀젼의 혈액순환 개선효과를 확인하였을 뿐만 아니라 한방적 접근을 통한 피부개선효과를 평가하는데 적절한 실험모델을 수립하였다.

      • Dibucaine-금속 요오드 착물을 이온교환체로서 이용한 Dibucaine의 정량

        Dibucaine-selective poly(vinyl chloride) menbrance electrodes were designed based on ion-association complex between dibucaine and metal iodide complex such as H??, Bil?? and CdI??. Stable potentiometric response was obtained with Meyer reagent at pH 3.0-5.5, with Dragendorff reagent at pH 3.0-5.0 and with Marume reagent at pH 3.0-5.5. The best plasticizer was 49 w/w% acetyl-tri-n-butly critrate for Meyer reagent, 65.3 w.w% for Marume reagent. The electrodes exhibited a linear response based on Meyer, Dragendorff and Marume complex were the concentration range of 2×10?4×10?M ,2×10×4×10?M, 2×10?1×10?M,respectively. The potentiometric response slope of optimized membrane electrodes based on Meyer, Dragendorff and Marume complex for dibucaine were 56.12,57.81 and 56.45?? with relative standard deviation of 2.75, 2.29 and 1.96%, respectively. This ISE methods are found to be sensitive, rapid, fairly accurate and are able to be empolyed successfully for the determination of dibucaine preparations.

        鹿脛骨이 卵巢摘出로 誘發된 흰쥐의 骨多孔症에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this study is to examine what are the effects of the Deer Tibia on the postmenopausal osteoporosis. In order to observe the effects of the Deer Tibia on the osteoporosis induced from ovariectomy, administered the Deer Tibia in p.o to the ovariectomized Rats, and measured the variance of weight related to osteoporosis, the variance of osteocalcin, calcium, ALP, phosphorus, GOT and GPT in serum, the variance of creatinine, calcium to creatinine rate in urine and urinary volume, the variance of the organs in weight and the variance of the bones. The results of the experiment are as follows: 1. The level of serum ALP, S-GOT and S-GPT in Deer Tibia group was showed a significant decrease in comparison with control group. The level of serum osteocalcine, calcium, phosphorus in Deer Tibia group was showed no efficiency in comparison with control group. 2. The level of urinary volume in Deer Tibia group was showed a significant increase in comparison with control group, and calcium to creatnine ratio in Deer Tibia group showed a significant increase. 3. The weight of tibia ash and the length of femur in Deer Tibia group showed no significant change. The bone density in Deer Tibia group showed a significant increased in comparison with control group. 4. Body weight in Deer Tibia group was increased in comparison with control group, but showed no efficiency. The weight of heart, liver, spleen, kidney and uterus in Deer Tibia group showed no significant change in comparison with control group. According to the above results, effects of the Deer Tibia on the aged ovariectomized rat model showed a efficiency in elevation of bone density by increasing bone mass and in prevention of renal function failure by ovariectomy. So Deer Tibia can be used for prevention and curing of the postmenopausal osteoporosis, as for it's effects, continuous clinical study is needed.

      • 심한 척추후측만증 환자의 대퇴골절 복원술을 위한 부위마취 : 증례보고 A case report

        Kyphoscoliosis is a disease manifested as lateral curvature of spine and accompanying rotation of the vertebrae, resulting in distortion of rib cage. Restrictive lung disease and pulmonary hypertension progressing to cor pulmonale are the major cause of mortality in patients with kyphoscoliosis. We had experienced a successful spinal and caudal epidural anesthesia for the open reduction and internal fixation with plate of fractured femur shaft in two patients with severe kyphosoliosis. We had chosen regional anesthesia as an anesthetic method because of there poor pulmonary function and severe deformities of thoracolumbar spine. We could achieve the adequate anesthetic sensory dermatome level, T_(5) and T_(8), for operation without any significant deterioration of blood pressure and respiration. We recommended that regional anesthesia is a useful anesthetic method for a patients with severe kyphoscoliosis when the operation on hip or lower extremity is required.
