        It is well established that the elevation of systolic blood pressure during exercise is the risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study is to examine whether the elevation of systolic blood pressure during exercise is correlated with the pathogenesis of hypotension To fulfill this objective, this study assigned 31(46.2±7.0 yr) middle-aged women to low group(n=17) and high group(n=14) according to the criteria for the classification of hypertension(JNC-VI, 1997). Following this, this study analyzed cardiovascular factors(SBP, DBP, HR, VO₂, RER) and blood components(LDLC, HDLC, TC, TG, HDLC/LDLC). The results of the present study were as follows: (1) SBP was significantly increased at resting state, at 4 minutes, at 6 minutes and at endpoint(P<.05), (2) There was significant difference between SBPmax and SBPrest(P<.05), (3) DBP was significantly increased solely at resting state SBPmax (P<.05), (4) RER was significantly increased at 10 minutes. In addition, a statistical analysis revealed that SBPmax-SBPrest was significantly correlated with age(r=0.336), SBPmax(r=0.827) and DBPmax(r=0.335). In conclusion this study indicates that the monitoring of such cardiovascular indicators as SBP, DBP, HR, VO₂ and RER is essential in health promotion in patients with obesity or normal healthy people as weil as patients with hypertension.

      • 보리등겨로 제조한 간장의 향기성분

        새로운 장류제품으로서 보리등겨의 이용방안을 모색하기 위하여 간장을 만들어 연구하였다. 보리로 제조한 간장의 갈색화는 점차적으로 증가 하였으며 완만한 변화를 보였다. 향기성분으로는 4-vinyl-2-methoxy-phenol, benzeneacetaldehyde, palmitic acid, 2-furancatboxaldehyde, methyl-9, 12-octadecadienoate, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, diethyl phtalate, dibytyl-1,2-benzenedicatboxylate, 5-methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde, 3,4-dimethyl-1h-pyrazole, phenylethyl alcohol, dioctyl-hexanedioate, dimethyl-1,2-benzenedicatboxylate, benzaldehyde, methional, 2-methoxy-phenol, n-furfurylidene-3-methylbutyl amine, 1-furfuryl-2-formyl pyrrole, tetradrcanoic acid, 5-methyl-pyrimidine, 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethyl-imidazole, maltol, 5-(5-methyl-2-furanyl)methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde 순으로 높은 함량을 차지 하였다. For investigation of new utilization as jang-products, kanjang was prepared using barely bran. This study was conducted to investigate flavor components of kanjang during fermentation time. The optical density was gradually increased. Among the flavor components identified in kanjang made with barley bran, the contents of 4-viny1-2-methoxy-phenol was the most in quantity followed by benzeneacetaldehyde, palmitic acid, 2-furancarboxaldehyde, methyl-9,12-octadecadienoate, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate, diethyl phtalate, dibutyl-1,2-benzendicarboxylate, 5-methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde, 3,4-dimethyl-1h-pyrazole, phenylethyl alcohol, dioctyl-hexanedioate, dimethyl-1,2-benzenedicarboxylate, benzaldehyde, methional, 2-methoxy-phenol, n-furfurylidene-3-methylbutyl amine, 1-furfuryl-2-formyl pyrrole, tetradecanoic acid, 5-methyl-pyrimidine, 4-methyl-5-hydroxymethyl-imidazole, maltol and 5-(5-methyl-2-furanyl)methyl-2-furancarboxaldegyde.

        유용성 도료와 수용성 도료의 유해성 비교에 관한 연구 : 자동차 보수용 도료를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to substitute water-based painting materials for the current solvent-based ones used in motor-repairing process to minimize the exposure of organic solvents to the painters. This study assessed the exposure of organic solvents to the painters using water-based and solvent-based painting materials and compared compositions, painting processes and the health hazards of the application of these alternative painting materials. The results of this study are as follows. 1. solvent-based painting materials used in motor-repairing process consist of various organic solvents, which consist primarily of toluene, xylene, ethyl benzene, ethyl methyl bezene, trimethyl bezene, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methyl isobutyl ketone, 2-ethoxy ethanol, 2-ethoxy ethyl acetate and toluene-2.4-diisocianate and the others. These organic solvents are know as health-hazardous substances. But water-based painting materials are high-solid, low-solvent ones and consist of such two organic solvents as 2-butoxy ethanol and 2-heptanone and the others. 2. The painters using solvent-based painting materials in motor-repairing process are exposed to various organic acetate, methyl isobutyl ketone, trimethyl benzene, 2-ethoxy ethanol, and 2-ethoxy ethyl acetate. But the painters using solvent-based ones are only exposed to 2-butoxy ethanol and 2-heptanone. 3. By using water-based painting materials in stead of solvent-based painting materials containing health-hazardous organic solvents, the exposure of such organic solvents in the painter's breathing zone can be largely prevented. 4. This study recommends water-based painting materials as substitutes for the current solvent-based ones used in motor-repairing process to minimize the exposure of organic solvents to the painters.

        Resin infiltration을 시행한 법랑질 초기 우식 병소의 특성

        The concept of resin infiltration which was born in an innovative philosophy to arrest the incipient caries. However, the structural changes of resin infiltrated lesions have not yet explained completely. The liquid resin might contribute not only to maximizing the penetration but to deteriorating physical stability. This study was performed to examine some physical and histological features of resin infiltrated incipient carious lesions. With the specimen of resin infiltrated lesions, microhardness by nanoindentation in depth profile, morphology of resin tags were revealed after HCl dissolution, and degree of microleakage were assessed. The percentage of microhardness of surface layer and lesion body of untreated specimen to sound enamel was 64.6% and 24.6% respectively, while that of resin-infiltrated lesions was 72.1%, showing significant difference (p<0.05). The resin tags observed under SEM had relatively homogeneous length of 433(282~501) ㎛ on the average. Among 20 specimens for microleakage assessment, 13 specimens showed no leakage while 5 and 2 showed leakage into outer and inner half of lesion respectively. It was thought the infiltrant resin penetrates deeply and homogeneously into lesion body and improves its hardness with relatively good physical stability. 본 연구는 infiltrant resin을 침투시킨 초기 우식 병소의 특성을 평가하기 위해 법랑질의 깊이에 따른 경도를 측정하고, 병 소 내로의 레진 침투양상을 분석하며, 미세누출 정도를 관찰하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 건전 법랑질에 대한 초기 우식 법랑질의 경도 백분율은 표층(5~40 ㎛) 64.6%, 병소본체(60~350 ㎛) 24.6%였으며, infiltrant resin을 침투시킨 병소의 경도 백분율은 72.1%로 나타났다. 5~350 ㎛의 전 깊이에서, infiltrant resin을 침투시 킨 병소는 비처치 우식 병소보다 경도가 유의하게 높았지만 정상 법랑질에 비해서는 경도가 유의하게 낮았다(p<0.05). FESEM 관찰 결과 탈회된 법랑질 내부로 비교적 균일하게 침투한 레진 테그가 관찰되었으며, 침투깊이는 433 ㎛(282-501)로 측정되었다. 열순환 처리 후 13개의 치아에서 미세누출이 관찰되지 않았고, 5개에서 병소 외측 절반, 2개에서 병소 내측 절 반까지 미세누출이 관찰되었다.

      • 방위에 따른 속리산과 오대산의 산림군락 구조분석

        본 연구는 방위에 따른 속리산 및 오대산 삼림식생을 분석하고자 하였다. 속리산 조사구와 오대산 조사구를 방위에 따라 출현하는 주요 종의 중요치를 살펴보면 속리산의 경우 북향에서는 쇠물푸레, 벚나무, 개옻나무, 굴피나무, 참회나무 등 8종에 중요치가 높게 분포하고 있음을 볼 수 있고, 동향에서는 소나무, 고로쇠나무, 산초나무, 소태나무, 작살나무 등 6종이, 남향에서는 굴참나무, 졸참나무, 생강나무, 물푸레나무, 짝자래나무 등 13종이, 서향에서는 신갈나무, 당단풍, 쪽동백나무, 노린재나무, 철쭉 등 13종에 중요치가 높게 출현한다. 오대산의 경우를 보면 북향에서는 당단풍, 까치박달, 거제수나무, 음나무, 잣나무등 18종이 중요치가 높게 분포하고 있음을 볼 수 있고, 동향에서는 전나무, 소나무, 느릅나무, 산벚나무, 들메나무 등 5종이, 남향에서는 신간나무, 물푸레나무, 철쭉, 진달래, 개벚지나무 등 7종이, 서향에서는 피나무, 고로쇠나무, 난티나무, 쪽동백나무, 황벽나무 등 10종이 중요치가 높게 출현함을 알 수 있다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 속리산에서는 남향과 서향이 각각 13종씩 26종으로 북향과 동향의 14종 보다 배에 가까운 많은 수의 나무들이 중요치가 높게 출현하고 있는 것에 반하여, 오대산에서는 북향과 동향이 각각 18종과 5종씩 23종으로 남향과 서향의 17종 보다 월등히 많게 출현함을 알 수 있다. 이와 같은 결과는 속리산과 오대산이 정반대의 현상으로 속리산이 해발고가 낮고 난온대성 수종의 우위를 점하는 것에 비하여 오대산은 해발고가 높고 냉온대성 수종이 우위를 차지하고 있는데서 오는 현상으로 보여진다. This study was to research environment of the forest vegetation structure according to the directions in Mt. Sokri and Odae. According to direction, the importance value of 8 species of Fraxinus sieboldiana, Prunus serrulate var. spontanea, Rhus trichocarpa ect. appeared highly on the north, 6 species of Pinus densiflora, Acer mono, Zanthoxylum schinifolium ect. highly appeared on the east, 13 species of Quercus variabilis, Quercus serrata, Lindera obtusiloba ect. highly appeared on the south, 13 species of Quercus mongolica, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, styrax obassia ect. highly appeared appreared on the west in Mt. Sokri. The importance value of 18 species of Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Carpinus cordata, Betula costata ect. highly appeared on the north, 5 species of Abies holophylla, Pinus densiflora, Ulmus dabidiana var. japonica ect. highly appeared on the east, 7 species of Quercus on the south, 10 species of Tilia amurensis, Acer mono, Ulmus laciniata ect. highly appeared on the west in Mt. Odae

        위절제술 환자의 표준진료지침 개발 및 적용 효과

        Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

        압입하중-변위곡선의 정량적 해석을 통한 가공경화지수의 평가

        Continuous indentation test with ball indenter has been studied for years because of its convenience and simpleness. Especially, the test is expected to supersede tensile test. Among tensile properties work-hardening exponents of various steels were evaluated by the test. We newly defined true stress and true strain with contact depth and indentation load. Finite element analysis shows that the contact depth is affected by elastic deflection and pile-up/sink-in. Therefore, the contact depth was calculated with taken both elastic deflection and pile-up/sink-in into account. The work-hardening exponents derived in this study show good agreement to those from tensile test.

        A computationally simple sequential algorithm for headbox optimal controller is presented. The approach is capable of systematically calculating a set of appropriate weighting matrices for the quadratic performance index, so that the resulting optimal control law would not only minimize the index, but also place the eigenspectrum of the closed-loop system at some predefined location.

        Prolapse of the fallopian tube into the vaginal vault after hysterectomy is a rare complication. Since most of cases may resolve before detection or remain undiagnosed, the exact incidence is still unknown. Though most common sign of tubal prolapse is tender friable tissue in vaginal cuff, with the simptoms of lower abdominal pain, dysparenunia, vaginal discharge, or postcoital spotting. The definitive diagnosis should be confirmed histologically Recently, we experienced a case of fallopian tube prolapse after abdominal hysterectomy in a 41-year-old woman and report with a brief review of the literature.
