Women's autobiography is a kind of autobiography. Therefore, it should comply with the rules of the autobiographical genre in general. The question remains, why should we examine the theory of Women's autobiography separately? The study of Women's autobiography. however, comprises more than that of a special sub-genre because by adding a gender element to the study of autobiography, it has the potential to question the general rules and practices of the autobiography genre. Women's autobiography is a kind of autobiography. Therefore. it should comply with the rules of autobiographical genre in general. Nevertheless. why should we examine the theory of Women's autobiography separately? The study of Women's autobiography. however. means more than that of a special sub-genre because by adding a gender element to the study of autobiography. it has a potential to correct general rules and practices of the autobiography genre. With the emergence of feminism, however, this attitude has come to be criticized. Feminist researchers pay more attention to the difference and the specificity of Women's writing than to the would-be universality which men assert. As feminism. which emphasizes specificities. is introduced into literature, literature has come to undergo fundamental changes. As a result, in this study, theories of Women s autobiography have been studied on two levels regarding some works written by Korean women writers who are known to be autobiographical. The analysis of these novels tends to question the general rules of autobiographical writing and at the same time to explore the specificities of Women's autobiography. Therefore, the two directions: the study of autobiography in general and the study of Women's autobiography related to self-representation and female identity have been handled in this study. Considering this theoretical basis, this study chose to deal with the following four women writers: Na Hae-Suk. Park Wan-Sec. Suh Young-Eun and Shin Kyung-Sook. Park Wan-Seo and Shin Kyung-Sook both wrote novels in which the narration is in the voice of the author herself. In fact, the author. the narrator and the hero or heroine are the same person. such as in The Mountain. Would It Be There? and Room in Isolation. The work of Park Wan-Seo is a sort of reminiscence about the past and a testimony of ones being. In the work of Shin Kyung-Sook, we find the author writing from the present point moving freely over the past and the present creating a shared memory where the true and the pretext are interacting with the gaze of the other. The works of Na Hae-Suk and Suh Young-Eun are narrated by a third person, thus holding some distance from the life of the author. However, the similarity of living experiences of the author as a subject to those of the protagonist reveals meaningful implications of the ontological situation of being a writer as a woman who might have taken this tertiary discourse as writing strategy. It would be more interesting when we come to analyse the intervention of imagination and fiction to the extent of which an autobiographical novel of a woman writer would have more value with its tertiary aspect. The work of Na Hae-Suk reflecting her own life has been written in the form of an essay or confession. The novel Kyung-Hee can be considered a biographical novel written in a tertiary discourse which served for the passage of enlightenment and confession producing a more delicate effect, and thus permitting, to some extent, a new concept of modern Women's writing. Her Woman. a novel by Suh Young-Eun, is particularly interesting with its tertiary point of view of the protagonist whose similarity with the author can only be sorted out by the reader through the dark nightmare.

대학생의 스포츠 활동 참가유형에 따른 자아존중감 및 건강통제소재의 관계

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships between self esteem and health locus of control in sports participation type of university students. The subjects of the study was selected by stratified cluster random sampling method from the sports participation located in Seoul ' Kyung-Ki area in universty students. Among them 400 students are contacted as sampies to be studied. 29 of them are not reviewed because of untimely response and doubted sincerity of their answers. The author used questions from Rosenberg's Self-Esteem Scale SES (10 Questions, 1965, translated, edited and standardized by Kim, gui-bong, Kim, young-soo, Kang, sung-gu, Park, joo-young, Kim, young-ho, 1999) and Wallston, Wallston and DeVellis Multidimentional health Locus of Control Scale (18 Questions, 1978) to analyze the sample with statistical calculations including descriptive statistics analysis, one-way ANOVA, multiple correlation analysis for the study. The study conclusions from this study summarized as follow: First, there were differences in university students sports participation type depending on their characteristics such as sex, height, and weight. Second, the sports participation type among university students has a significant difference on the self-esteem. Third, the sports participation type among universty students has a significant difference on the health locus of control(internal health locus of control). Forth, there is some relationships between mental-health and body-consciousness in sports participation type of university students.

Light-induced isomerization dynamics of a cyanine dye in the modulus-controlled regime

<P>The <I>trans</I>–<I>cis</I> isomerization of an excited molecule converts light energy into mechanical motion, which interacts cooperatively with its surroundings. To understand such a photodynamic process in solids, we investigated the internal twisting motion of 1,1′-diethyl-2,2′-cyanine iodide (DCI) in a series of poly(alkyl methacrylate) (PAMA) polymers by measuring the Young's moduli of the polymers with atomic force microscopy nanoindentation and the fluorescence lifetimes of the dye with time-correlated single photon counting. We found that the isomerization rate constant obtained from the average lifetime correlated well with the mechanical property of the matrix. Our results show that the light-induced molecular motion lies in the modulus-controlled regime in which the polymer matrix not only provides a rigid environment for the dynamics of the molecules but also participates actively in the motion. Radiofrequency ablation(RFA), as a form of minimally invasive therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma, has become an important treatment modality. Because of limitation of surgery, RFA has become standard therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma in some situations. But there are some complications of RFA such as bleeding, infection, hematoma, adjacent organ thermal damage including intestinal perforation, needle track seeding, and so on. There are few reports in the literature that systematically evaluate the incidence of needle tract seeding and its associated risk factors. And only 2 cases of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA were reported in Korea. We report a case of needle tract seeding of hepatocellular carcinoma after RFA.

만성 승모판폐쇄부전증 이환견의 치료 1례

A 8 years old intact male Shih-tzu dog with respiratory distress was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. The dog also had a history of several episodes of syncope prior to visit. Physical examination revealed tachypnea, panting, mucous membrane of pale and cyanosis. Holosystolic murmur at the left apex region by auscultation, left sided cardiac enlargement by thoracic radiography and mitral regurgitated flow by echocardiography were detected. Clinical signs were improved by treatment of diuretics, ACE inhibitor, bronchodilator and oxygen therapy.

Research Articles : Geographic Genetic Contour of A Leaf Beetle, Chrysolina aurichalcea (Coleoptera: Chysomelidae), on the Basis of Mitochondrial COI Gene and Nuclear ITS2 Sequences

The leaf beetle, Chrysolina aurichalcea (Coleoptera: Chysomelidae), is a pest damaging plants of Compositae. In order to understand the genetic diversity and geographic variation we sequenced a portion of mitochondrial COI gene (658 bp) and complete nuclear internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) of the species collected from seven Korean localities. A total of 17 haplotypes (CACOI01~CACOI17), with the maximum sequence divergence of 3.04% (20 bp) were obtained from COI gene sequence, whereas 16 sequence types (ITS2CA01~ITS2CA16), with the maximum sequence divergence of 2.013% (9 bp) were obtained from ITS2, indicating substantially larger sequence divergence in COI gene sequence. Phylogenetically, the COI gene provided two haplotype groups with a high nodal support (≥87%), whereas ITS2 provided only one sequence type group with a high nodal support (≥92%). The result of COI gene sequence may suggest the presence of historical biogeographic barriers that bolstered genetic subdivision in the species. Different grouping pattern between COI gene and ITS2 sequences were interpreted in terms of recent dispersal, reflected in the ITS2 sequence. Finding of unique haplotypes and sequence types only from Beakryeng-Islet population was interpreted as an intact remnant of ancient polymorphism. As more samples are analyzed using further hyper-variable marker, further fruitful inference on the geographic contour of the species might be available.

쇠고기육중의 방사선 유래 휘발성물질의 분석

This study was conducted to identify irradiation-derived volatile components, having positive-correlation with irradiation doses, which may play roles as maker materials for detecting post-irradiation in pork meat. The volatile components of irradiated(0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 kGy doses) pork(Belly) meat was analyzed by liquid liquid continuous extraction(LLCE)/GC/MSD methods. By the results of linear regression analysis between irradiation doses and volatile component amounts in fresh pork, 3 compounds including γ-octalactone(r=0.82), 1-octen-3-ol(r=0.90) and butanoic acid(r=0.81) had high correlations with irradiation doses.

Afferent loop syndrome is an uncommon complication of a gastrectomy and Billroth Ⅱ reconstruction. It may cause symtoms at any time from the first postoperative day to many years after the gastrectomy. Afferent loop syndrome is characterized by abdominal pain, vomiting and elevation of serum amylase. Thus, it is difficult to differentiate afferent loop syndrome from other cause of acute pancreatitis. However, the history of gastrectomy can be an important clue for diagnosing afferent loop syndrome. We experienced one case of chronic afferent loop syndrome with acute pancreatitis. After appropriate management, the abdominal pain disappeared and serum amylase level decreased. We report this case with a review of relevant literatures.

바터 팽대부에 생긴 유암종 1예

Carcinoid tumors have been reported in a wide range of organs but most commonly involve the lungs, bronchi and gastrointestinal tract. Within the gastrointestinal tract, appendix is the most common location for carcinoid, followed by the distal small intestine, the rectum, and the stomach. Among these, primary involvement of the ampulla of Vater is extremely rare. We report a case of carcinoid tumor of ampulla of Vater. A 62-year-old man presented with epigastric soreness. Gastroduodenal endoscopy showed hyperemic bulging mass on ampulla of Vater and diagnosed as carcinoid tumor by histologic finding, with immunohistochemical study. In ^(111)In-octreoscan, tumor had regional lymph node metastasis, but no evidence of distant metastasis. Pancreatoduodenectomy with lymph node dissection was performed.

This study attempted to determine the effects of hair protection by investigating the characteristics and possibilities of hair cosmetics using the hot water extracts of Syzygium aromaticum and then hair-protection effects were confirmed through pre-treatment and post-treatment at consecutive chemical treatments. At the consecutive chemical treatments, the general treatment was divided into pretreatment(N1) and general treatment post-process(N2). Then, the Syzygium aromaticum-based treatment was divided into pre-treatment(J1) and post processing(J2). According to the analysis, tensile strength was the highest in the Syzygium aromaticum extract treatment group. At consecutive treatments, ‘J2’ which processed treatment for Syzygium aromaticum, was the highest. In terms of hair thickness, the Syzygium aromaticum group was greater than the general treatment group. When measured to determine the morphological characteristics of ‘Hair’ at 20,000 magnifications using SEM, the Syzygium aromaticum extract post-treatment group (J2) revealed the highest value (373.98±10.83㎚). Regarding hair composition under the EDS, Syzygium aromaticum extract post-treatment group was the highest with 07.77% interms of sulfur content. The results confirmed that Syzygium aromaticum extract treatment is extremely effective in easing hair damage which is caused by consecutive dyeing after permanent. Therefore, the Syzygium aromaticum extract treatment would be effective in preventing hair damage and keeping hair healthy and glossy.
