      • 무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 에너지 인식 하이브리드 클러스터링

        Many studies for the efficient utilization of node energy in wireless sensor networks has been done because sensor nodes operate with limited power based on battery. Existing cluster structure has problem that energy consumption is unbalanced because energy consumption is concentrated in cluster head. And in case distribution density of sensor node is low, the energy efficiency is declined because only a few members exist in cluster. In this paper, we submit an hybrid clustering mechanism to construct topology by mixing cluster structure and mesh structure selectively according to distribution of sensor nodes to improve energy efficiency. And we attempt to derive balanced energy consumption by selecting cluster head considering residual energy of each node. The performance of the proposed mechanism has been examined and evaluated with the NS-2 simulator in terms of network lifetime and end-to-end delay.

        Alu-Derived Alternative Splicing Events Specific to Macaca Lineages in CTSF Gene

        Cathepsin F, which is encoded by CTSF, is a cysteine proteinase ubiquitously expressed in several tissues. In a previous study, novel transcripts of the CTSF gene were identified in the crab-eating monkey deriving from the integration of an Alu element-AluYRa1. The occurrence of AluYRa1-derived alternative transcripts and the mechanism of exonization events in the CTSF gene of human, rhesus monkey, and crabeating monkey were investigated using PCR and reverse transcription PCR on the genomic DNA and cDNA isolated from several tissues. Results demonstrated that AluYRa1 was only integrated into the genome of Macaca species and this lineage-specific integration led to exonization events by producing a conserved 3' splice site. Six transcript variants (V1-V6) were generated by alternative splicing (AS) events, including intron retention and alternative 5' splice sites in the 5' and 3' flanking regions of CTSF_AluYRa1. Among them, V3-V5 transcripts were ubiquitously expressed in all tissues of rhesus monkey and crab-eating monkey, whereas AluYRa1-exonized V1 was dominantly expressed in the testis of the crab-eating monkey, and V2 was only expressed in the testis of the two monkeys. These five transcript variants also had different amino acid sequences in the C-terminal region of CTSF, as compared to reference sequences. Thus, species-specific Alu-derived exonization by lineage-specific integration of Alu elements and AS events seems to have played an important role during primate evolution by producing transcript variants and gene diversification.

      • Identification of Alternative Variants and Insertion of the Novel Polymorphic <i> AluYl17</i> in <i> TSEN54</i> Gene during Primate Evolution

        <P><I>TSEN54</I> encodes a subunit of the tRNA-splicing endonuclease complex, which catalyzes the identification and cleavage of introns from precursor tRNAs. Previously, we identified an<I> AluSx</I>-derived alternative transcript in<I> TSEN54</I> of cynomolgus monkey. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) amplification and<I> TSEN54</I> sequence analysis of primate and human samples identified five novel alternative transcripts, including the<I> AluSx</I> exonized transcript. Additionally, we performed comparative expression analysis via RT-qPCR in various cynomolgus, rhesus monkey, and human tissues. RT-qPCR amplification revealed differential expression patterns. Furthermore, genomic PCR amplification and sequencing of primate and human DNA samples revealed that<I> AluSx</I> elements were integrated in human and all of the primate samples tested. Intriguingly, in langur genomic DNA, an additional<I> AluY</I> element was inserted into<I> AluSx</I> of intron eight of<I> TSEN54</I>. The new<I> AluY</I> element showed polymorphic insertion. Using standardized nomenclature for<I> Alu</I> repeats, the polymorphic<I> AluY</I> of the langur<I> TSEN54</I> was designated as being of the<I> AluYl17</I> subfamily. Our results suggest that integration of the<I> AluSx</I> element in<I> TSEN54</I> contributed to diversity in transcripts and induced lineage- or species-specific evolutionary events such as alternative splicing and polymorphic insertion during primate evolution.</P>

        Molecular Characterization of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Isolates Resistant to All Antimicrobial Agents, but Susceptible to Colistin, in Daegu, Korea

        Multi-drug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been implicated in a variety of serious therapeutic problems in clinical environments. Among the 968 P. aeruginosa isolates obtained from two hospitals in Daegu, Korea, we acquired 17 isolates that were resistant to all available tested antimicrobial agents, with the exception of colistin (colistin-only sensitive). We characterized the antimicrobial susceptibilities, $metallo-{\beta}-lactamases$, and epidemiological relatedness among the colistin-only sensitive P. aeruginosa isolates. All colistin-only sensitive isolates were positive in the modified Hodge test and imipenem-EDTA synergy test, thereby indicating the production of $metallo-{\beta}-lactamases$. 11 isolates from the secondary hospital and six isolates from the tertiary teaching hospital harbored $bla_{VIM-2}$ and $bla_{IMP-1}$, respectively. The pulsed-field gel electrophoretic analysis of the SpeI-digested DNA from P. aeruginosa isolates indicated that two different clones of colistin-only sensitive P. aeruginosa originated from each hospital, and had spread within the hospital environment. Overall, colistin-only sensitive P. aeruginosa was detected in Korea for the first time, but no pan-drug resistant bacteria were identified. Nationwide surveillance is required in order to monitor the emergence of colistin-only sensitive or pan-drug resistant bacteria.

        The purpose of this research was to study about the traffic accident prevention and the efficient traffic flow control with targeting the accident prone areas. The object interval was limited to the school zone, the curve zone and the intersection. The main sensors used the LiDAR. It was equipped into the vehicle and the infrastructure. It cognized the environment of object interval. The environment information which was cognized at the vehicle and the infrastructure was sent to the infrastructure server through the Ethernet. The sensor recognized comprehensive road situation. Finally it sent the safe driving command value to each vehicle on the basis of the recognized environment information.

        완전 절제가 가능하였던 하대정맥 평활근육종 1예

        Leimyosarcoma of the inferior vena cava is a rare disorder and may present with symptoms of obstruction of the normal flow of blood. We report a case of leiomyosarcoma of the inferior vena cava in 55-year-old female patient. The tumor was discovered incidentally by ultrasonography of the abdomen which was performed to evaluate epigastric pain and indigestion. Further radiological studies including CT and inferior vena cavography confirmed the presence of a 5cm sized mass in the inferior vena cava . The microscopic examination of a specimen obtained by a catheter from inferior vena cava mass revealed malignant mesenchymal tumor. The tumor was completely resected with reconstruction of the inferior vena cava and left renal vein. The diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma was made by micoscopic and immunohistochemical findings of the resected tumor.(Korean J Med 60:92-96, 2001)

        Nonequilibrium Distribution Function Theory of Many-Particle Effects in the Reversible Reactions of the Type A+B ↔ C+B

        We study the relaxation kinetics of reversible reactions of the type A + B $^\leftarrow_\rightarrow$ C + B by applying the manyparticle kernel theory, which we have developed to investigate many particle effects on general diffusioninfluenced reactions. It is shown that for the target model, where A and C molecules are immobile and their interconversion is induced by the encounter with the B molecules that are present in much excess, the manyparticle kernel theory gives a result that coincides with the known exact result.

        Reversible Excited-State Proton Transfer: Effect of the Switching of Interaction Potential by Reaction

        In the reaction A + B $^\rightarrow_\leftarrow$ C, where A and B are ionic reactants having opposite charges, a B molecule approaching an A will experience a switching of the interaction potential when the A molecule is captured by one of the other B molecules in the medium. In the reversible case, the former B molecule still has a chance to react with the A, so that one needs to take into account the switched interaction between the reactant B and the product C as well as that between the reactants to treat the kinetics accurately. It is shown that this kind of interaction potential switching affects the relaxation kinetics in an intriguing way as observed in a recent experiment on an excited-state proton transfer reaction.

      • 비혈연간 동종 골수이식의 임상적 고찰 : 단일병원 임상 경험 A Single Institution Experience

        연구배경: 급만성 백혈병이나 재생불량성 빈혈을 포함한 혈액종양 질환 및 기타 악성 조양 질환에서의 동종 골수이식은 관해요법 후의 완치 및 재발방지와 장기 생존 효과를 가져와 최근 그 시행 빈도가 증가하고 있으며, 이에 따라 HLA가 일치하는 비혈연간의 동종골수이식 횟수도 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 저자들은 본원에서 비혈연 동종 골수이식을 시행받은 13명의 환자들을 대상으로 그 성적을 분석하였고, 이것을 형제간 골수이식과 비교해 보고자 하였다. 방법: 1996년11월부터 1999년 6월까지 울산의대 서울중앙병원에서 타인 동종 골수이식을 시행받았던 환자 13명을 대상으로 골수이식 후의 생착정도와 합병증, 생존여부 등을 살펴보았으며, 이들의 성적을 1993년 12월부터 1999년 6월까지 본원에서 형제간 동종골수이식을 시행한 92명의 환자의 성적과 비교 분석하였다. 결과: 총 13명의 대상환자들의 중앙 연령치는 23세 (15-41세)이었고 이중 남자가 7명이었다. 일차관해 상태인 급성 골수성백혈병 환자가 2명이었고, 6명이 급성림프구성백혈병이었으며 이들 중 일차관해 상태는 3명 이차관해 상태인 환자는 2명이었다. 중증 재생불량성 빈혈이 1명이었고, 만성시기에 있는 만성 골수성 백혈병 환자가 1명이었고, blastic crisis에 있는 환자가 3명이었다. 주입된 골수의 단핵구수는 중앙값이 0.53×10^(8)/kg이었고, CD34+ 세포의 수는 1.2×10^(6)/kg 이었다. 모든 환자의 골수는 생착에 성공하였고 절대과립구가 500㎕ 이상을 보인 중앙 생착기는 18일(11-28일)이었다. 백혈구와 혈소판의 생착 시기는 형제간 골수이식과 비교하여 별다른 차이가 없었다. 적혈구와 혈소판의 수혈을 필요로 하였던 경우는 비혈연 동종 골수이식군에서 형제간 이식의 경우보다 의미있게 더 많았다. 급성 이식편대숙주반응의 빈도는 비혈연간에서 의미 있게 많았으며 (53.8% vs 10.9% p<0.001). , 급성 이식편대숙주반응이 나타나는 시기도 이른 경향을 보였다. (12일 vs 34일 , p=0.063). 만성 이식편대숙주반응과 간정맥폐쇄질환은 비혈연 동종 골수이식을 시행한 경우나 형제간 이식을 시행한 경우나 그 빈도에서는 유사함을 보여주었다. 13명의 환자중 6명이 생존하고 있었고, 이들의 중앙 추적기간은 275일(115-691일)이었다. 이들 13명의 2년 생존율은 42%였고, 전체생존기간(overall survival)은 130일이었다. 이것은 형제간 이식군에서 보인 전체 생존기간 529일과 의미있는 차이를 보였다,(p=0.0008) 결론: 비혈연간 동종 골수이식의 경우 형제간 골수이식에 비해 급성 이식편대숙주반응이 의미있게 심하였다. 비혈연 동종 골수이식의 전체 생존율은 형제간 이식에 낮음을 볼 수 있었으나 1년 이상 생존하고 있는 환자의 경우 장기적인 생존을 기대할 수 있겠다. Thirteen patients with various hematologic disorders underwent allogeneic bone marrow trnasplantation from HLA-matched unrelated donors (mud-BMT) at University of Ulsan, Asan Medical Center between November, 1996 and June, 1999. Their clinical characteristics and outcome after mud-BMT were compared to those of silbling donor allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT). The median age of thirteen patients who underwent mud-BMT were 23 years (range, 15-41) with seven male patients. Underlying disease were 2 patients with AML (all 1st CR), 6 with ALL(1st CR:3. 2nd CR:2 more advanced:1) 4 with CML(chonic phase:1, 1st blast crisis:3) and one with severe aplastic anemia. The median cell count of transplanted mononuclear cell and CD34+ stem cells were 0.53×10^(8)/kg and 1.2×10^(6)/kg, respectively. All patient engrafted with ANC over 500㎕ on median day 18 (range 11-28). The days of leukocyte and platelet engraftment were similar to those of ninety-two patients who underwent sibling donor allo-BMT. The amount of transfusion requirement in patients who underwent mud-BMT was significantly higher than that of patients who underwent sibling donor allo-BMT. The actuarial incidened of acute GVHD in mud-BMT was singificantly higher than that of sibling donor allo-BMT (53.8% vs 10.9% p<0.001). The median day of onset of acute GVHD was shorter in mud-BMT than sibling donor allo-BMT (day 12 vs day 34, P=0.063). Frequencies of VOD were similar between the two group (61.5% vs 52.2%). Among 13 patients who underwent mud-BMT, 6 patients were alive for median 275 days (range, 115-691 days). Overall median survival time is 130 days. Our study showed patients who underwent mud-BMT showed higher frequency of aGVHD. A fraction of patients are surviving longer than a year and likely to be long term survivors.
