        Simultaneous Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometric Determination of Total and Individual Phthalic Esters Utilizing Alkaline Hydrolysis and Silyl Derivatization Technique

        Environmentally important phthalic esters have been analyzed by GC-MS in terms of individual phthalic esters or total phthalic esters directly or after derivatization. Derivatization improves the chromatographic characteristics of the highly polar phthalic esters. This study focused on the GC-MS determination of the total phthalic esters and the individual phthalic esters simultaneously. The phthalic esters were hydrolyzed to phthalate and corresponding alcohols in 1 M NaOH solution at 90 oC for 30 min followed by extraction with ethyl acetate after acidifcation. The phthalic acid and alcohols were simultaneously silyl derivatized using bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) to their corresponding silyl ester and ethers in the mixture of 60% acetone and 40% ethyl acetate at room temperature within 30 min. Because of the high reactivity of BSTFA with the phthalic acid and alcohols effective silyl derivatization was possible simultaneously. GC-MS analysis of the silyl derivatives of phthalic acid and alcohols was performed. The total phthalic ester content was estimated from the analytical result of phthalic silyl ester, while the individual phthalic ester was quantified from the analytical results of alcoholic silyl ethers. This technique was applied to spiked tab water and real seawater samples from the Lake Shihwa in Korea. The results were checked against the results from the direct GC-MS analysis of the phthalic esters and reasonable recoveries with high sensitivity were achieved. The recoveries were higher than 75% with low relative standard deviation (below 10%).

        Poly(vinylbenzyl chloride-glycidyl methacrylate)/Polyethylene Composite Anion Exchange Membranes for Vanadium Redox Battery Application

        Anion exchange membranes for a vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) were prepared by pore-filling on a PE substrate with the copolymerization of vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA). The ion exchange capacity, water uptake and weight gain ratio were increased with a similar tendency up to 65% of GMA content, indicating that the monomer improved the pore-filling degree and membrane properties. The vanadium ion permeability and open-circuit voltage were also investigated. The permeability of the VG65 membrane was only $1.23{\times}10^{-7}\;cm^2\;min^{-1}$ compared to $17.9{\times}10^{-7}\;cm^2\;min^{-1}$ for Nafion 117 and $1.8{\times}10^{-7}\;cm^2\;min^{-1}$ for AMV. Consequently, a VRB single cell using the prepared membrane showed higher energy efficiency (over 80%) of up to 100 cycles compared to the commercial membranes, Nafion 117 (ca. 58%) and AMV (ca. 70%).

        CdS thin films have been widely used a window material in heterojunction solar cells. In solar cell systems, where CdS thin films have been proved to be useful, partial substitution of Zn for Cd increases the optical window of the hetero-junction and also the diffusion potential. In this thesis, effects of the thickness of indium films and the annealing temperature on structural, optical and electrical properties of chemically deposited CdZnS films for the efficiency of the Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cells were investigated. Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films were grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD), which is a very attractive method for low-cost and large-area solar cells. The open circuit voltage of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cells increased due to reduced electron affinity difference between Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S and CdTe films. However, the conversion efficiency of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cell decreased because of the higher series resistance(R_(s)) than CdS/CdTe solar cell. The series resistance and conversion efficiency of Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cell were improved by using indium-doped Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S films as window layer. Cd_(1-x)Zn_(x)S/CdTe solar cells fabricated with optimal conditions exhibited V_(oc)=630mV, J_(sc)=38.89mA/㎠ , FF=0.53, and η=13.2%

        This paper propose a method, observer design for torque current measurement of induction motors, by using single term walsh series(STWS). If the torque currents of induction motors need to know for induction motors driving correctly, it is observed by proposed observer directly. Since the observer which is presented in this paper has an algebraic form, it is more attractive than the conservative others.

        영남대학교 의과대학 외과학교실에서는 1989년 11월에 한국에서 발병한 간흡충병의 여섯 번째 증례로, 특히 간내 담관에 발생한 첫 증례를 우측 간엽 절제술 및 담낭 적출술로 좋은 결과를 얻었으며, 간내 담관에 발생한 경우에는 간암과의 구별이 요구되어야 한다는 점을 상기 시키면서 증례보고와 더불어 문헌적 고찰을 하였다. Human Fasciola hepatica infection is a rare entity involving infestation of the liver and biliary tree with adult flukes, which can result in hepatitis, cirrhos is and biliary tract inflammation, obstruction and lithiasis. The patient had the typical diagnostic tetrad of fever, eosinophilic leukocytos is, tender hepatomegaly and fluke ova in the stools. Theatment consistes of Emetine hydrochloride administration for hepatic involvement and common bile duct exploration for removal of flukes, with cholecystectomy for associated cholelithiasis. The combination of medical and surgical therapy cal be expected to produce an arrest of this infection. The removed liver revealed eggs of the fasciols species in the intrahepatic bile duct. The clinical history, pathological findings and treatment of this case were described.

        그리스 비극과 신화에 대한 니체의 해석

        Nietzsches Forschung der griechischen Trago¨die tritt gegen jene moderne Kultur auf, in der das Vertrauen auf den Mythus verlorengegangen ist. So ergibt sich Nietzsches Geburt der Trago¨die eben aus seiner heftigen Kritik an die moderne Kultur, die nichts anderes als "den Verlust der mythischen Heimat, des mythischen Mutterschoosses" bedeutet. Anhand der griechischen Trago¨die begreift der Zuschauer die 'dionysische Weisheit' und kriegt die Kraft zur U¨berwindung der Leiden und Schmerz im Leben. D.h. die Zusammenwirkung der beiden Elemente, also des dionysischen Rausches durch die Musik des Dithyrambus einerseits und der apollinischen Verbildlichung durch den Mythus andererseits ermo¨glicht dem Mythus die metaphysiche Bedeutung und dem Zuschauer die dionysische Weisheit. Dies gelangt, wie gesagt, zu einem ganz anderen Resultat als die Theorie von Aristoteles, der in seiner Poetik einen 'ethischen Lo¨sungsweg' fu¨r die Fragen innerhalb der Trago¨die pointiert. Nietzsche beharrt dabei auf der Ansicht, dass sich das menschliche Dasein und die Welt aufgrund des tragischen Mythus nur als ein 'a¨sthetisches Pha¨nomen' rechtfertigen lassen. Nietzsche interpretiert schlieβlich mit seiner 'Artisten-Metaphysik' die griechische Trago¨die und weiterhin sowohl kritisiert die moderne Kultur als auch sucht seinerseits den Richtungspfeil fu¨r die Kultur der Zukunft. Deshalb gewinnt der Mythus seine Relevanz als eine Alternative zur Orientierung an eine neue Zukunft vor dem Hintergrund der Ambivalenz der Moderne und der Tradition. So zieht man aus Nietzsche eine Lehre, dass auch fu¨r unsere Realita¨t die Kunst des Theaters ihre neue Bedeutung eben in ihrer Wurzel der mythischen Kraft gewinnen kann.

      • 프로농구 관중의 충성도와 경기장 유인 요인과의 관계

        This study was to investigate the relationship between consuming behaviors and the enticing factors of sports arena. The independent variables of the study was royalty. The dependent variables were enticing factors including performance, status of reputation, facilities, and marketing factors. The subjects of the study were 470 randomly selected spectators who were present at 3 games, held in Wonju. Seoul, and Anyang among pro-basketball season games. The apparatus to collect data was 'the enticing factors of sports arena' and 'consuming behaviors' questionnaires(Cho Kwan-Hyung, 2000) which were revised and complemented based on four areas in spectator orientation(Marcum & Greenstein. 1985) and enticing factors of sports arena(Cronin & Taylor, 1992). Chi-square and One-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data by SPSS 10.0 fur Windows(p<.05). The results of analyzing the relationship between royalty and the enticing factors of sports arena led to following conclusions. Performance, status of reputation and facilities according to cheering team orientation, that was one of the elements in devoting level, were significantly different Furthermore, there was significant difference in status of reputation factor depended on cheering athlete orientation. However, enticing factors of sports arena according to membership and out cheering were not significantly different.

        In this article, we look into the paradigmatic charateristics of neoclassical economies, especially the principle of equilibrium system in the viewpoint of decision making process by economic man. Benefit-Cost analysis is extensively used for the purpose from the economic man to the market level and reversely. Finally, we can reach a conclusion like that : According to the principle, as an economic man is increasing the quantity of an object, the marginal benefit in the decision should be increased or constant and, the marginal cost should be decreased or constant. But both can't be constant at the same time. This makes us understand that most of "laws" in neoclassical economic theory are not really "laws" but just "principles" or "postulates" for the principle. But the term "law" must play an important role in strengthening the paradigm.

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the visual variation of skilled and unskilled people, and to obtain data necessary for skill improvement of effective handball penalty throw. An eye tracker was used to collect eye movements, concentration points, directions, and paths during penalty throws. The results are as follows: 1) For skilled players, the place where they threw and the place where their eyes were focused matched. 2) There is no difference in the presence or absence of eye contact with the goalkeeper.

        As EG(Embedded Generation: photo- voltaic, wind, combined heat and power, fuel cell, small hydro etc.) grows fast in adopting to peak load reducing at the middle or the end of distribution system, there much has been interested in interconnection of EG. This paper discusses the various issue of a embedded generator to power system and shows the simulation of its various situation that could happen(focusing on load-flow by EG) by using a commercial software CYME(PSAF) for load-flow. With a result of above simulation, this paper shows a way of possible solution briefly.
