      • Enhanced Maturation and Function of Dendritic Cells Using Hydrogel Coated Plate and Antigen Electroporation

        <P>Dendritic cells (DCs) are potent antigen-presenting cells that can be matured <I>in vitro</I> from immature dendritic cells (iDCs) in the presence of several biological agents such as cytokine cocktail, CD40L, TNF-a and antigen loading, which are necessary and achieved using various protocols, such as lipofection, passive pulse or electroporation. However, these DCs maturation protocols may cause with a significant loss of cells because of cellular attachment and spreading during culturing. Some biomaterials that influence adhesion and development of cells have been used in cell culture techniques, and it was thought that they might be applied on the culture of DCs. In this study, we used polyHEMA, which is a hydrogel coating biomaterial that prevents DCs from adherence, and investigated whether hydrogel coating affects the maturation of iDCs. The efficiency in the generation of mDCs was improved through hydrogel coating procedure and a dendritic cell maturation marker, CD83, was significantly increased in hydrogel-coated culture condition. The antigen-loaded mDCs from electroporation were further expressed the CD83. The mDCs generated in the hydrogel-coated culture condition showed more, longer and thicker dendrites, and produced more amounts of cytokines such as IL-12 and IFN-γ. Therefore, it was suggested that the hydrogel-coated culture condition could improve function of mDCs.<fn><P>Cheol-Hun Son and Jae-Ho Bae contributed equally to this work.</P></fn></P>

      • CuO를 열확산시킨(Sr.Ca)TiO_(3) 입계층 커패시터의 전기적 특성

        In this paper, the Sr_(1-x)Ca_(x)TiO_(3)(0≤x≤0.2)-based grain boundary layer ceramics were fabricated to measured dielectric properties with the sintering temperature and the thermal treatment time. The sintering temperature and time were 1420∼1520℃, 4hours, and the thermal treatment temperature and time of the specimen were 1150℃, 1, 2, 3,hours, respectively. The structural and the dielectric properties were investigated by SEM, X-ray, HP4194A and K6517. The average grain size was increased with increasing the sintering temperature, but decreased to 15㏖% with increasing content of Ca. X-ray diffraction analysis results showed that all specimens were the cubic structure, the main peaks were of Ca. The appropriate thermal treatment temperature and time of CuO to obtain dielectric properties of ε_(γ)>50000, tan δ<0.05 and ΔC<±10% were 1150℃ and 2hours, respectively.

        The efficient management of data is a major activity in individual person or organizations. A significant part of time is spent recording, retriving, and absorbing a large amount of information. Database systems are designed for the convenient and efficient management of it. Databae is referred to a collection of data, and a database management system provides an environment that is to use in retrieving information from and storing it into the database. Today, microcomputer is widely distributed and the DBMS on micomputer is also easily purchased. In this situation, end-user of a computer can design, a necessary database for the efficient management of information without any expert's aids. Therefore he serves as database administrator. Several excellent database texts and reference books are available today, however, most of these books emphasis issues about the design of database management system software and operating system file access methods. On the other hand, many handbooks of a particular DBMS software only demonstrate how it's command can be used for database management. The purpose of this study is to provide adequate technical details for a design of database system with particular microcomputer DBMS software together with practical application while providing the theoretical background necessary to sucessfully implement a wide database systems. So this study consists of two parts, one for concepts of database and general procedures in database design, another for database design of the Graduate School of Management, P university We designed a database system for academic affairs with dBASE Ⅲ plus on microcomputers, IBM AT and XT.

        The thesis is about the methods of speaker recognition by applying strange attractor of linear prediction coefficient series to speaker recognition. We have accomplished speaker recognition experiments by utilizing strange attractor of time series as well as of linear prediction coefficient series. The results were 94% recognition ratios. Therefore, the strange attractor of linear prediction coefficient series was more appropriate characterized parameter in increasing speaker recognition ratios.

      • 경사각에 따른 자리 진동 히트파이프의 열전달특성에 관한 연구

        In this paper, heat transfer characteristics of a self-oscillating heat pipe were experimentally investigated for the effect of inclination angle and heat loads. This type of heat pipe consists of a heating section, a cooling section and an adiabatic section. The heat pipe used has a 0.002m internal diameter, a 0.34m length in one turn and consists of 19 turns. Each of the heating and cooling section has a length of 70mm. Experiments were performed to measure the temperature distributions and the pressure variation of the heat pipe according to inclination angle. Based on the experimental results, the heat transfer ability of the self-oscillating heat pipe seems to improved with the increase of the inclination angle.

      • (Sr.Ca)TiO_(3)세라믹스의 C-V특성과 Ca의 역할

        It this study, the capacitance-voltage properties of (Sr_(1-x)·Ca_(x))TiO_(3)(0.05≤x≤0.20)-based grain boundary layer ceramics were investigated. The ceramics were fabricated by the conventional oxide-mixed method. The sintering temperature and time were 1480∼1500℃ and 4hour, respectively. The 2nd phase formed by the thermal diffusion of CuO from the surface leads to very excellent dielectric properties, that is, ε_(γ)>50000, tanδ<0.05, ΔC<±10%. The capacitance is almost unchanged below about 20[V] but it decreases slowly over 20[V]. The results of the capacitance-voltage properties indicated that the grain boundary was composed of the continuous insulating layers. The voltage-current characteristics was due to space charge condensed to interface between grain and grain boundary. The specimens treated thermal diffusion in 1150℃ for 2hrs appeared nonlinearity characteristic of α>7.

      • 니켈기 초내열합금의 고온부식거동에 관한 연구

        Hot corrosion behavior of the CMSX-2, CMSX-4, Rene 77, Rene 80 Ni-base superalloys was investigated at 900℃ by two different corrosion methods, immersing the samples in Na2SO4-NaCl mixture(immersion test)and coating the salt mixture on the surface of the samples(modified coating test). The effects of corrosion times and salt compositions from 0 to 100 percent in Na2SO4-NaCl mixtures were examined. Experimental results showed that the corrosion depths in the alloys increased with increasing time, and the depths of the modified coating test were shotter than those of the immersion test in the mixed salt. It was found that the depths of CMSX series alloys increasing NaCl contents in the mixtures up to 50% NaCl. Corrosion products of the alloys were composed of Cr, Al, Ti oxides. The oxide scale, such as Cr₂O₃, Al₂O₃, TiO₂, were shown to improve hot corrosion resistance in the fused Na₂SO₄-NaCl mixtures.

        소양호의 어류군집 동태

        2001년 4월부터 2002년 9월까지 소양호의 어류군집 동태를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 조사된 어류는 총 11과 38종이었다. 한국 고유종은 P. tenuicorpus, C. splendidus, S. gracilis majimae, S. japonicus coreanus, H. mylodon, G. brevibarba, M. yaluensis, M. longidorsalis, C. koreensis, C. rotundieaudata, S. microdorsalis, P. koreanus, L. andersoni, C. herzi, O. patycephala 등 15종(40.54%)이었다. 우점종은 Z. platypus(39.60%), H. olidus(39.47%), S. gracilis majimae(12.24%), S. japonics coreanus(2.11%), P. fulvidraco(1.48%), L. macrochirus(1.40%) 등이었다. 채집된 어종들의 생체량을 보면 Z. platypus가 19.48㎏, H. olidus로 8.75㎏, C.cuvieri 7.42㎏, L. maeroehirus 7.39㎏, H. labeo 6.85㎏의 순으로 나타났다. 소양호에서 확인된 도입종은 A. japonica, H. eigenmanni, H. olidus, P. altivelis, C. urotaenius, R. giurinus, T. brevispinis, C. carpio(Israeli type), c. euvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, L. macrochirus, M. salmoides, I. puntatus 등 13종이었다. 이 중 C. carpio(Israeli type), C. cuvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, L macrochirus, M. salmoides, I. puntatus는 국외종이며, A. japonica, H. eigenmanni, H. olidus, P. altivelis, C. urotaenius, R. giurinus, T. brevispinis 등은 국내 다른 하천ㅇ로부터 유입된 종이다. The dynamics of the fish community in Lake Soyang, Korea, was investigated from April 2001 to September 2002. During the surveyed period 38 species belonging 11 families were collected. There were 15 Korean endemic species 39.47%, including Pseudopungtungia tenuicorpus, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Squalidus gracilis majimae, S. japonicus coreanus, Hemibarbus mylodon, Gobiobotia brevibarba, Microphysogobio yaluensis, Microphysogobio longidorsalis, Iksookimia koreensis, Iksookimia rotundicaudata, Silurus microdorsalis, Pseudobagrus koreanus, Liobagrus andersoni, Coreoperca herzi, and Odontobutis platycephala. Dominant species were Zacco platypus (39.60%), Hypomesus olidus (31.70%), Squalidus gracilis majimae (12.24%), Squalidus japonicus coreanus (2.11%), Pseudobagrus fulvidraco (1.48%) and Lepomis macrochirus (1.40%). The biomass of collected fishes were Zacco platypus (19.48 ㎏), Hypomes olidus (8.75 ㎏), Carassilus cuvieri (7.42 ㎏), Lepomis macrochirus (7.39 ㎏) and Hemibarbus labeo (6.85 ㎏). Of the 13 introduced fishes in Lake Soyang Cyprinus carpio (israeli type), Carassius cuvieri, Onchorhynchus mykiss, Lepomis macrochirus, Micropterus salmoides and Ictalurus puntatus were originated from foreign countries but Anguilla japonica, Hemiculter eigenmanni, Hypomesus olidus, Plecoglossus altivelis, Chaenogobius urotaenius, Rhinogobius giurinus. Thridentiger brevispinis were introduced from other native river systems.

      • 중추에서 Prostaglandin계가 Renin-angiotensin System에 미치는 영향

        Role of prostaglandins on the renin-angiotensin system in the central nervous system was examined in normotensive and 2-kidney, 1 clip (2K1C) hypertensive rats. The experiment was done under thiopental (50 ㎎/㎏, IP) anesthesia. Captopril and indomethacin were injected into the right lateral cerebral ventricle. Arterial blood pressure and heart rate were recorded from the femoral artery. Intracerebroventricular (ICV) captopril (1 ㎎) caused a decrease in mean arterial pressure in both normotensive and 2K1C hypertensive rats. The depressor response to captopril was more sensitive in hyper-tensive rats than in normotensive rats. Indomethacin treatment (ICV, 200 ㎎) altered the depressor response to captopril neither in normotensive nor in hypertensive rats. These results suggest that the cardiovascular effect of renin-angiotensin system in the central nervous system may not be mediated via prostaglandin systems in normotensive and 2KlC hypertensive rats.
