        김동리 연구

김혜미(Kim, Hyemi) 전남대학교 한국어문학연구소 2014 전남대학교 한국어문학연구소 학술지 어문논총 Vol.- No.25

This thesis attempts to elucidate the close interrelationship between experiences of an author and literature works, beyond the partial explication of simple creation of works related with Kim Dongli. Therefore, the literary formation of archetypal experience was examined through psychoanalytical method. At first, it examines how the process in which a subject afflicted by his/her parents shifted into the symbolic has an effect on the works of Kim Dongli. The lack of father and mother was formalized as the work related with social taboo. Next, it verifies what relations a series of deaths which were induced following the death of ‘Seon-I’ make with literary formation. Paradoxically, direct/indirect repetitions of unintended death allowed tor the author to stand at subjective position of "writing". Finally, it examines the basis on which such negative experiences can be sublimated into a work under his older brother, ‘Beombu’: The archetypal experiences giving rise to ‘lack’ and ‘alienation’ can be literally sublimated through the psychological and material effects of Beombu, a scholar of the Chinese classics. Thus, the archetypal experiences of Kim Dongli are complicatedly placed in intended and unintended part. The points where the author continuously states and literally formalizes the archetypal experiences seems to be not only a kind of catharsis process in which his own desire is vicariously satisfied, but also an another process of intense self-therapy of the author.

Profiling of remote skeletal muscle gene changes resulting from stimulation of atopic dermatitis disease in NC/Nga mouse model

        Lee, Donghee,Seo, Yelim,Kim, Young-Won,Kim, Seongtae,Choi, Jeongyoon,Moon, Sung-Hee,Bae, Hyemi,Kim, Hui-sok,Kim, Hangyeol,Kim, Jae-Hyun,Kim, Tae-Young,Kim, Eunho,Yim, Suemin,Lim, Inja,Bang, Hyoweon,Ki The Korean Society of Pharmacology 2019 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology Vol.23 No.5

Although atopic dermatitis (AD) is known to be a representative skin disorder, it also affects the systemic immune response. In a recent study, myoblasts were shown to be involved in the immune regulation, but the roles of muscle cells in AD are poorly understood. We aimed to identify the relationship between mitochondria and atopy by genome-wide analysis of skeletal muscles in mice. We induced AD-like symptoms using house dust mite (HDM) extract in NC/Nga mice. The transcriptional profiles of the untreated group and HDM-induced AD-like group were analyzed and compared using microarray, differentially expressed gene and functional pathway analyses, and protein interaction network construction. Our microarray analysis demonstrated that immune response-, calcium handling-, and mitochondrial metabolism-related genes were differentially expressed. In the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and Gene Ontology pathway analyses, immune response pathways involved in cytokine interaction, nuclear factor-kappa B, and T-cell receptor signaling, calcium handling pathways, and mitochondria metabolism pathways involved in the citrate cycle were significantly upregulated. In protein interaction network analysis, chemokine family-, muscle contraction process-, and immune response-related genes were identified as hub genes with many interactions. In addition, mitochondrial pathways involved in calcium signaling, cardiac muscle contraction, tricarboxylic acid cycle, oxidation-reduction process, and calcium-mediated signaling were significantly stimulated in KEGG and Gene Ontology analyses. Our results provide a comprehensive understanding of the genome-wide transcriptional changes of HDM-induced AD-like symptoms and the indicated genes that could be used as AD clinical biomarkers.

      • Growth Kinetics of Macronodular Lung Metastases and Survival in Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma

        Kim, Mijin,Kim, Won Gu,Park, Suyeon,Kwon, Hyemi,Jeon, Min Ji,Lee, Sang Min,Lee, Jeong Hyun,Kim, Tae Yong,Shong, Young Kee,Kim, Won Bae Mary Ann Liebert 2017 Thyroid Vol.27 No.7

<P>Conclusions: This is the first study to demonstrate objectively that tumor growth kinetics within the first year are an independent predictor of CSS in patients with macronodular lung metastases. Performing chest computed tomography at least twice a year in the early phase of the disease in patients with macronodular lung metastases may be helpful for identifying high-risk patients who are eligible for treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors.</P>

Double-stranded RNA mediates interferon regulatory factor 3 activation and interleukin-6 production by engaging Toll-like receptor 3 in human brain astrocytes

        Kim, Hyemi,Yang, Eunjung,Lee, Jeonggi,Kim, Se-Hoon,Shin, Jeon-Soo,Park, Joo Young,Choi, Sun Ju,Kim, Se Jong,Choi, In-Hong Blackwell Publishing Ltd 2008 Immunology Vol.124 No.4

<P>Summary</P><P>Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) participates in the innate immune response by recognizing viral pathogens. In this study, human brain astrocytes were found to constitutively express TLR3, and this expression was increased by interferon-&ggr; (IFN-&ggr;) or double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). Treatment employing dsRNA in astrocytes induced IFN regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) phosphorylation, dimer formation and nuclear translocation followed by STAT1 activation. This treatment also activated nuclear factor-&kgr;B, p38 and c-Jun N-terminal kinase significantly, while activating extracellular signal-regulated kinase to a lesser extent. Treatment with anti-TLR3 antibody inhibited dsRNA-mediated interleukin-6 (IL-6) production. In the presence of mitogen-activated protein kinase inhibitors, astrocytes failed to secrete IL-6 in response to dsRNA treatment. Therefore, dsRNA-induced IL-6 production is dependent on mitogen-activated protein kinases and type I IFN production is dependent on IRF3 in brain astrocytes. These results suggest that brain inflammation, which produces inflammatory cytokines and type I IFNs, may enhance TLR3 expression in astrocytes. Additionally, upregulated TLR3 might modulate inflammatory processes by producing proinflammatory cytokines.</P>

      • A comparison of lobectomy and total thyroidectomy in patients with papillary thyroid microcarcinoma: a retrospective individual risk factor-matched cohort study

        Kwon, Hyemi,Jeon, Min Ji,Kim, Won Gu,Park, Suyeon,Kim, Mijin,Song, Dong Eun,Sung, Tae-Yon,Yoon, Jong Ho,Hong, Suck Joon,Kim, Tae Yong,Shong, Young Kee,Kim, Won Bae Bioscientifica 2017 European journal of endocrinology Vol.176 No.4

<B>Objective</B><P>Papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) accounts for most of the increase in thyroid cancer in recent decades. We compared clinical outcomes and surgical complications of lobectomy and total thyroidectomy (TT) in PTMC patients.</P><B>Design and methods</B><P>In this retrospective individual risk factor-matched cohort study, 2031 patients with PTMC were initially included. Patients who underwent lobectomy or TT were one-to-one matched according to individual risk factors, including age, sex, primary tumor size, extrathyroidal extension, multifocality and cervical lymph node (LN) metastasis.</P><B>Results</B><P>In total, 688 patients were assigned to each group. During the median 8.5 years of follow-up, 26 patients (3.8%) in the lobectomy group and 11 patients (1.6%) in the TT group had recurrences. The relative risk of recurrence was significantly less in the TT than that in the lobectomy group (hazard ratio (HR) 0.41; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.21-0.81; <I>P</I> = 0.01). Most recurrences (84.6%) in the lobectomy group occurred in the contralateral lobe, and all patients were disease-free after completion of thyroidectomy. There were no significant differences in recurrence-free survival between the two groups after exclusion of contralateral lobe recurrences (HR, 2.75; 95% CI, 0.08-8.79; <I>P</I> = 0.08). There were significantly more patients with transient and permanent hypoparathyroidism in the TT than that in the lobectomy group (<I>P</I> < 0.001).</P><B>Conclusions</B><P>Lobectomy could be appropriate for most patients with PTMC when there is no evidence of extrathyroidal disease in the preoperative work-up. Preoperative and postoperative imaging studies are important for patients who undergo lobectomy for PTMC, because most recurrences are in the contralateral lobe.</P>

      • 행동 변화를 유도하는 사회적 실험

        김혜미(Hyemi Kim),김아람(Aram Kim),송세준(Sejun Song),문정현(Junghyun Moon),백한나(Hannah Baek),김진우(Jinwoo Kim) 한국HCI학회 2016 한국HCI학회 학술대회 Vol.2016 No.1

In our study, we attempt to understand the pedestrians’ behavioral change by conducting a social experiment. Using a simple design that consists of fixed visual stimulation, interactive visual stimulation, and interactive audio stimulation, we set a proprietary lane for elder citizens on subway stairways. Through the experiment we found that the stimuli were effective, as it changed the non-elder pedestrians’ behavior in relatively short time. Also through post-experiment interviews of those who displayed changes in their behavior, we found possible relationship between these short-term behavior changes and an individual’s intrinsic motivations, such as self-satisfaction. However, due to limited time and the scope of the study, we keep this finding to be further researched in the future.
