      • Squalene Adjuvant를 이용한 단백질 항원의 세포성 면역반응 유도

        To investigate the role of adjuvant for cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) induction, squalene-based adjuvant was studied its capability eliciting to the induction of cellular immunity as well as humoral immunity to exogeneous proteins. Ovalbumin (OVA) was used as model proteins. It was demonstrated that antigen formulation consisted of metabolizable oil squalene mixed with Tween 80 and pluronic L121 (S/TJ121) could induced the antigen specific CTL responses and antibodies irrespective of immunization routes in mice. We also demonstrated that this antigen formulation was a inducer of CD8+, major histocompatibility complex(MHC) class I-restricted, and antigen-specific C;1'Ls. These data suggest that the squalene-based emulsion system is a potent adjuvant inducing cellular immunity as well as humoral immunity.

      • 중공 크랭크축의 비틀림 진동 해석 및 측정

        In recent years, the problems of noise and vibration are critical issues in order to reduce the weight of internal combustion engine components. It is found that the bending, torsional and lateral vibration of crankshaft are the main causes of engine noise and vibration problems. Therefore it is necessary to identify the vibration behavior of crankshaft. In this paper, the vibration analysis of hollow crankshaft was carried out. The torsional vibration characteristics of hollow crankshaft were analyzed and compared with those of same size solid crankshaft in respect of equivalent mass and stiffness by using I-DEAS. The natural frequencies and mode shapes of both crankshafts are measured by impact hammer test using LMS CADA-X system.

      • 다량의 하부위장관출혈이 병발된 Vibrio vulnificus 패혈증 1예

        최근 저자들은 Vibrio vulnificus 감염에 의해 패혈증 및 이차성 피부 병변을 보인 42세의 남자 환자의 치료중 하부 위장관 출혈이 병발된 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. We experienced a case of Vibrop vulnificus septicemia which showed an unusual manifestation such as hematochezia. The patient was a 42-year-old man with chronic liver disease. The blood and wound culture revealed the organism. During intensive care, he suffered from massive hematochezi for several days. Colonoscopy and abdominal CT showed findings suspicious of ischemic colitis. To our knowledge, this is the first unusual case of V.vulnificus infection which showed massive lower gastrointestinal bleeding.

      • 상표자산과 구매의도와의 관계에 관한 국제비교연구 : 아시아와 유럽의 의류시장을 중심으로

        본 연구는 상표자산의 구성요소에 대한 선행요인을 분석하고 이를 토대로 하여 상표자산 구성요소와 상표자산 영향요인간의 관계 그리고 상표자산 구성요소와 구매의도간의 관계를 규명하고 한국과 영국을 중심으로 비교하여 상표자산관리 방안을 도출해보고자 하였다 연구결과, 정보탐색은 제품지식에 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 상표태도와 상표지식은 상표 충성도와 상표 가치에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다 그리고 상표충성도와 상표가치는 구매의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 정보원천의 경우, 한국에서는 제품지식에 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있는 반면, 영국에서는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. Brand equity is one of the most important concepts in business practice as well as in academic research. Successful brands can allow marketers to gain competitive advantage (Lassar et al.,1995), including the opportunity for successful extensions, resilience against competitors' promotional pressures, and the ability to create barriers to competitive entry (Farquhar, 1989). Branding plays a special role in service firms because strong brands increase trust in intangible products (Berry, 2000), enabling customers to better visualize and understand them. They reduce customers' perceived monetary, social, and safety risks in buying services, which are obstacles to evaluating a service correctly before purchase. Also, a high level of brand equity increases consumer satisfaction, repurchasing intent, and degree of loyalty. Brand equity can be considered as a mixture that includes both financial assets and relationships. Actually, brand equity can be viewed as the value added to the product (Keller, 1993), or the perceived value of the product in consumers' minds. Mahajan et al. (1990) claim that customer-based brand equity can be measured by the level of consumers’ perceptions. Several researchers discuss brand equity based on two dimensions: consumer perception and consumer behavior. Aaker (1991) suggests measuring brand equity through price premium, loyalty, perceived quality, and brand associations. Viewing brand equity as the consumer’s behavior toward a brand, Keller (1993) proposes similar dimensions: brand awareness and brand knowledge. Thus, past studies tend to identify brand equity as a multidimensional construct consisted of brand loyalty, brand awareness, brand knowledge, customer satisfaction, perceived equity, brand associations, and other proprietary assets (Aaker, 1991, 1996; Blackston, 1995; Cobb-Walgren et al., 1995; Na, 1995). Other studies tend to regard brand equity and other brand assets, such as brand knowledge, brand awareness, brand image, brand loyalty, perceived quality, and so on, as independent but related constructs (Keller, 1993; Kirmani and Zeithaml, 1993). Walters(1978) defined information search as, "A psychological or physical action a consumer takes in order to acquire information about a product or store." But, each consumer has different methods for informationsearch. There are two methods of information search, internal and external search. Internal search is, "Search of information already saved in the memory of the individual consumer"(Engel, Blackwell, 1982) which is, "memory of a previous purchase experience or information from a previous search."(Beales, Mazis, Salop, and Staelin, 1981). External search is "A completely voluntary decision made in order to obtain new information"(Engel & Blackwell, 1982) which is, "Actions of a consumer to acquire necessary information by such methods as intentionally exposing oneself to advertisements, taking to friends or family or visiting a store."(Beales, Mazis, Salop, and Staelin, 1981). There are many sources for consumers’ information search including advertisement sources such as the internet, radio, television, newspapers and magazines, information supplied by businesses such as sales people, packaging and in-store information, consumer sources such as family, friends and colleagues, and mass media sources such as consumer protection agencies, government agencies and mass media sources. Understanding consumers’ purchasing behavior is a key factor of a firm to attract and retain customers and improving the firm’s prospects for survival and growth, and enhancing shareholder’s value. Therefore, marketers should understand consumer as individual and market segment. One theory of consumer behavior supports the belief that individuals are rational. Individuals think and move through stages when making a purchase decision. This means that rational thinkers have led to the identification of a consumer buying decision process. This decision process with its different levels of involvement and influencing factors has been widely accepted and is fundamental to the understanding purchase intention represent to what consumers think they will buy. Brand equity is not only companies but also very important asset more than product itself. This paper studies brand equity model and influencing factors including information process such as information searching and information resources in the fashion market in Asia and Europe. Information searching and information resources are influencing brand knowledge that influences consumers purchase decision. Nine research hypotheses are drawn to test the relationships among antecedents of brand equity and purchase intention and relationships among brand knowledge, brand value, brand attitude, and brand loyalty. H1. Information searching influences brand knowledge positively. H2. Information sources influence brand knowledge positively. H3. Brand knowledge influences brand attitude. H4. Brand knowledge influences brand value. H5. Brand attitude influences brand loyalty. H6. Brand attitude influences brand value. H7. Brand loyalty influences purchase intention. H8. Brand value influence purchase intention. H9. There will be the same research model in Asia and Europe. We performed structural equation model analysis in order to test hypotheses suggested in this study. The model fitting index of the research model in Asia was X2=195.19(p=0.0), NFI=0.90, NNFI=0.87, CFI=0.90, GFI=0.90, RMR=0.083, AGFI=0.85, which means the model fitting of the model is good enough. In Europe, it was X2=133.25(p=0.0), NFI=0.81, NNFI=0.85, CFI=0.89, GFI=0.90, RMR=0.073, AGFI=0.85, which means the model fitting of the model is good enough. From the test results, hypotheses were accepted. All of these hypotheses except one are supported. In Europe, information search is not an antecedent of brand knowledge.         各 結晶格子는 230個 空間群 中 하나로 記述되는 對稱性을 가지고 있으며 그 結晶의 構造를 밝히기 爲하여는 그 結晶이 屬한 空間群을 반드시 알아야 한다. 이 論文에서는 230個 空間群을, 그 結晶이 가지고 있는 反射條件에 依하여 明白히 決定되는 空間群과 空間群間의 共通的인 反射條件 때문에 結晶의 構造가 밝혀진 後에야 밝혀지는 空間群으로 分類하여 놓았다. Every crystal lattice has a symmetry which is described by one of the 230 space groups and the space group of a crystal must be known in order to elucidate its structure. In this paper the 230 space groups are classified into two categories, i.e., the space groups that are explicitly determined by the reflection conditions the crystals have and the others that are determined only after the elucidation of the crystal structures because of the common systematic reflection conditions between the space groups.

      • 간 세포암에서 VEGF, TGF-β1, b-FGF 발현의 의의

        Purpose: Angiogenesis is important for the proliferation and the metastasis of solid tumors. The growth of a solid tumor is widely recognized to depend on the process of neovascularrozation. Without angiogenesis, tumors cease to grow beyond even a few milimeters in diameter. It has been shown that tumor vascular density is an independent prognostic marker in several types of human tumors and is known to correlate with poor prognosis. To date, many angiogenic factors have been identified, such as transforming growth factor-α(TGF-α), transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β), fibroblast growth factor family(FGF), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), platelet derived endothelial cell growth factor(PD-ECGF), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and angiogenin. Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the second most common tumor in Korean males and is known as a typical hypervascular tumor with frequent portal vein invastion. The authors identified the expreesion of VEGF, TGF-β1, and b-FGF in HCC specimens and evaluated the relationship between these growth factors and the clinicopathologic characteristics of HCC. Method: We reviewed the medical records of 30 patients who were diagnosed as hepatocellular carinoma treated with hepatic resection between January 1994 and December 1998 in Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hospital. The selection of the cases was decided according to the condition of paraffin block fixation. The prognostic factors such as age, sex, tumor size, concentration of serum α-fetoprotein, presence of liver cirrhosis, presence of tumor emboli in portal vein, TMN stage, amount of transfusion during the operation, hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection, and Edmonson-Steiner(E-S) grade were investigated. Relationship between the prognostic factors and the immunopathologic expression of the TGF-β1, b-FGF, and VEGF was examined. Result: Thirty patients (24 males, 6 females) were included in the current study. The patient's mean age was 50.6 years and the age ranged from 36 to 65 years. The mean size of the tumor was found to be 5.2cm. All the patients were follewed up for 7 to 63 months. Child's classification A patients were 23(76.7%)cases, B patients were 7(23.3%)cases, and C was none. Immunohistochemical staining of HCC tumor mass in VEGF expression patients were 17(56.7%), b-FGF expression patients were 10(33.3%), and TGF-β1 expression patients were 10(33.3%). VEGF expression or more than one positive expression among the three factors correlated with tumor size and the stage of HCC but did not correlated with other clinicopathological characteristics. TGF-β1 and b-FGF did not correlate with any clinicopathological characteristics. Conclusion: The results suggest that the expression of VEGF or more than one positive expression among the three factors in HCC cells may be a significant prognostic factor of HCC.

      • 7個 結晶系의 唯一 X-線 回折强度 資料

        한 結晶의 構造는 唯一單位의 X-線 回折强度資料로부터 決定될 수 있다. Miller指數(hkl)의 函數인 回折强度Ⅰ(hkl)는 異常 散亂(anomalous scattering)이 無視될때 對稱中心點群 卽 Laue群의 對稱性을 나타낸다. 이 論文에서는 모든 結晶系에 對한 回折强度의 唯一單位를 Laue群들의 對稱性으로부터 誘導하여 놓았다. Crystal structures can be determined from the unique data of X-ray intensity. As the X-ray intensity Ⅰ(hkl), which is a function of diffraction plane (hkl), has a center of symmetry assuming anomalous scattering is negligible Ⅰ(hkl) shows the symmetry of a centrosymmetric point group, i.e., a Laue group. In this paper the unique data of the intensity for all crystal systems have been derived from the symmetries of Laue groups.

      • Flavobacterium meningosepticum에 의한 균혈증 1예

        1996년 6월 카톨릭대학교 부천성가병원에 뇌경색으로 입원했던 61세 남자 환자의 혈액에서 Flavobacterium meningosepticum을 분리하였다. 환자는 폐렴을 동반한 패혈증의 예로 ceftriaxone과 metronidazole을 투여하였으나 입원 48시간만에 사망하였다. Flabovacterium meningosepticum is a rae cause of nosocomial infection which shows multi-drug resistance. It mainly invades patients with impaired immunity. Recently, we experienced a case of F. meningosepticum bacteremia in a patient with chronic debilitated state owing to stroke. The clinical progress was so rapid that he died within 48 hours. Blood culture revealed F. meningosepticum which showed characteristic yellow colony in blood agar plate.

        연속식 오존처리공정을 이용한 낙동강 상수원수의 정수처리 효과

        낙동강 상수원수를 대상으로 연속적 오존처리에서 오존주업농도에 따른 유기물 분해 특성을 조사하기 위하여 오존처리에 의한 DOC성분변화, UV254/DOC의 변화와 소비오존에 따른 DOC 제거효율을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 유입원수의 수질변화에 따라 다소 차이는 있었으나 전반적으로 오존주입농도가 증가할수록 DOC 처리효율도 증가되었다. 오존처리에 따른 DOC 성분변화는 전오존을 3 mg/L농도로 처리시 TDOC, ADOC, A&BDOC 및 NRDOC는 각각0.6, 0.2, 0.1 및 1.0 mg/L 정도 오존처리에 의하여 감소되었으나 BDOC는 0.8 mg/L 증가하였다. UV254/DOC의 분율은 오존주입농도를 1, 3 및 5 mg/L 처리하였을 때 전오존의 경우는 각각 0.048, 0.044 및 0.037 이였고, 후오존의 경우는 각각 0.018, 0.015 및 0.012로 나타나 오존주입농도가 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 초기 DOC mg당 소비되는 오존량에 대한 DOC 제거율은 전오존과 후오존처리의 초기 DOC에 대한 소비오존량이 각각 약 1.5와 2.3일 때 각자 25%와 32%로서 최대의 DOC 처리효율을 나타내었다. 낙동강 상수원수에 전오존을 처리할 경우 오존주입량은 초기 DOC mg당 소비된 오존이 1.5 mg 이내의 농도가 되도록 주입하고, 후오존은 유입수인 모래여과수의 초기 DOC mg당 소비된 오존이 2.3 mg이내의 농도가 되도록 조절하여 주입하면 적당할 것으로 생각되었다. This study was carried out to evaluate the pollutant removal efficiencies of the advanced drinking water treatment using ozonation process. For raw water. Nakdong River was used. By conducting continuous ozonation experiments, the following results were obtained. Efficiency of water treatment was enhanced with increase in ozone dosage. When ozone dosage of 3 mg/L was used, preozonation of raw water reduced TDOC, ADOC, A&BDOC and NRDOC as much as 0.6 mg/L, 0.2 mg/L, 0.1 mg/L and 1.0 mg/L, respectively. On the other hand, content of BDOC Increased at the level of 0.8 mg/L. Ratio of UV254 absorbance to DOC content by the preozonation with 1, 3 and 5 mg/L dosage were 0.048, 0.044 and 0.037, respectively. In case of postozonation, it were 0.018, 0.015 and 0.012, respectively. When the ratios of consumpted ozone content to 1 mg of initial DOC were 1.5 and 2.3 in preozonation and postozonation treatment, respectively, the highest DOC removal rates of 25% and 32% were obtained by the continuous ozonation.
