Ternary nanocomposites based on ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), maleic anhydride-grafted EVA (EVAgMA), and nanosilica were prepared in a Haake Rheomixer. The structure of the EVA/EVAgMA/silica nanocomposites was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The blending sequence was found to have a significant effect on the microstructure of EVA/EVAgMA/silica nanocomposites and the dispersion behavior of the nanosilica in the EVA matrix. The tensile properties (tensile strength and elongation at break), thermal behavior, crystalline structure and weatherability of the nanocomposites were also studied. The results showed that the above properties of the nanocomposites were enhanced remarkably using 1 wt% EVAgMA.
Development of a Piano-Playing Robot with Motion-Sound Mapping
Thai V. Hoang,박광현,Zeungnam Bien 동국대학교 정보융합기술원 2008 International Journal of Assistive Robotics and Sy Vol.9 No.3
This paper presents the developmentof a piano-playing robot with motion-sound mapping in order to provide the elderly a means of entertainment that can interact with them while it is in operation. A piano-playing robot composed of a personal computer, a robotic arm, and a robotic hand is first developed to make a system that can play piano mechanically. Kinematic, dynamic equations, and Jacobian matrix for the robotic arm and the robotic finger are then derived for realtime control and simulation of the system. A study on the actions underlying sound generation in acoustic piano is carried out to have an insight into the relations between piano sound and keys’ motion. These relations are later represented by neural networks. By using these relations, the pianoplaying robot can produce fascinating music as a result of mimicking sample music. Experiment results demonstrate that the developed system outperforms existing systems in the sense of music attractiveness and make it a candidate to be used as a service robot in entertaining human being.

Adhesive hydrogels offer considerable potential in biomedical applications because of the excellentintegration between materials and tissues. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-catalyzed hydrogelation, withadvantages that include ease of handling, simplicity in material design, high biocompatibility, andprocessability, is becoming a promising candidate to be engineered as an adhesive hydrogel. This reviewsummarizes recent development of HRP-mediated hydrogelation towards the bioadhesivefield, andother applications requiring the tissue adhesion of hydrogels. From the viewpoint of adhesive hydrogeldesignation, the basic chemistry of the adhesive mechanism, combinations of interactions, and currentlycommercial bioglues are summarized. The review recapitulated the adhesive hydrogel applications, theclinical translation ability, the controlling hydrogelation kinetics, the related physicochemicalcharacteristics, cytotoxicity, and animal studies. Looking to the future, to make more substantialcontributions to the bioadhesivefield, or to various biomedical applications, higher adhesion should becontinuously improved, and greater emphasis should be placed on clinical trials.

In reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RP-LC), the separation of ionized compounds at neutral pH of the mobile phase is ineffective because these compounds easily become ionized and too hydrophilic to adsorb on the hydrophobic C18 stationary phase. The common method to separate ionized compounds in RP-LC is the usage of the ion pairing agent and the control of pH in the mobile phase. In this work, [hmim][BF4] ionic liquid was adopted as a mobile phase additive in reversed-phase simulated moving bed chromatography (RP-SMB) to overcome the problem mentioned above. The results showed that when 1.5 ml/l [hmim][BF4] was added to mobile phase, 3-hydroxy benzoic acid (3-HBA) and 4-hydroxy benzoic acid (4-HBA) were separated at neutral pH in the RP-SMB. In particular, purities of 3-HBA and 4-HBA products were 97.62% and 100%, respectively, and had a good agreement with simulation results.
Developing a Green Route Model for Dry Port Selection in Vietnam
Hoang Thai Pham,이향숙 한국해운물류학회 2019 The Asian journal of shipping and Logistics Vol.35 No.2
The dry port can smooth the movement of cargo and eliminate capacity pressure, natural restriction and externalities faced by seaports. A network of dry ports also can reduce the amount of pollution emitted from logistics activities by allowing the increasing share of environmentally friendly modes of transport. The paper suggests a green routing model for dry port selection to increases the percentage of using rail or inland waterway transportation in the journey through dry port, instead of road transportation. This model reduces the amount of emission from logistics activities, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), nitric oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) with the minimum cost, considering both the emission charge and the shipping charge. A case study is conducted for Samsung Thai Nguyen factory in the North of Vietnam to validate the model application. The results indicate that the smallest total cost route saves up to 51% of CO2 and 36.5% of PM emission exhausted than unimodal road transportation. The research provides a useful guideline for new green transport policies of public agents as well as decision-making processes in private companies.

The development of antibacterial wound dressing with easily removable characteristic and highly exudate absorption is becoming a major requirement in the treatment of chronic wounds. In this study, the in situ forming gelatin/oxidized alginate-tyramine hydrogels (GH/OATA) were designed to overcome the current limitations. These hybrid hydrogels were quickly and controllably formed from several seconds to a few minutes by horseradish peroxidase/H2O2. The hybrid hydrogels at the optimal composition of GH/OATA 50/50 v/v showed the unique feature including stiffness being similar to skin, high swelling ratio due to the hydrophilic property of oxidized alginate, low adhesive strength allowing for the easy dressing removal without pain. In addition, the hybrid hydrogels could release the H2O2 amount sustainably to kill bacteria. Furthermore, 3D culture of human dermal fibroblasts inside hybrid hydrogels achieved more than 80% cell proliferation which implies the cell-compatibility.
