        The purpose of this study was to propose the model of the church and education complex building. Church is the body of Jesus Christ and called and sent to serve others. Jesus showed his way of life as a sample of churches. But contemporary churches do not follow that sample, so churches need to be renewed. Current issues on the contemporary church are 'serving community', 'raising efficiency', 'focusing on other that worship space', 'raising flexibility' and etc. This study was focused on the 'serving community' and 'raising efficiency'. Preceded researches and books were the foundation of this study and several churches were samples of this study. Through this study, church and education complex building can be realized to be the good model of sound churches.

      • 역충전재의 3종 영구세포주에 대한 세포독성효과

        Properly performed retrograde filling is a clinically valuable procedure promoting the prognosis of apical surgery. Retrograde filling materials must have a good sealing ability, biocompatibility and they must maintain their integrity and characteristics when interacting with tissue fluids. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of retrograde filling materials. Cytotoxity was tested on L929, 3T3 and KB cell lines. Bestally(Dongmyung, Korea), Prisma APH (Densply International Inc., U.S.A.). Clearfil FII (Kuraray Co., Japan), Fuji II(GC Co., Japan), Fuju II LC (GC Co., Japan) and IRM(Densply Co., U.S.A.) were prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions. Culture media were added to each materials immediately after mixing (the immediate group) and after thirty minutes (the 30-minute group), one day (the first day group) and seven days (the seventh day group) respectively. After 24-hour incubation, culture media were collected and filtered and used as experimental solutions. Three different permanent cell lines were challenged by each solution and the cytopathic effects were evaluated using 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-dimethyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay. Amalgam showed good biocompatibility to three cell lines. IRM was the most toxic retrograde filling materials to all cell lines. Immediate group of Fuji II and Fuji II LC were cytotoxic to all cell llines but cytotoxicity of Fuji II LC immediate group was weaker than that Fuji II. Cytotoxic effect of Clearfil FII was different in three cell lines. It was suggested that cytotoxicity could be affected by cell lines.

      • 규폐결핵 3례의 임상 및 병리학적 소견의 비교 검토

        Among the pneumoconiosis, the silicosis is an occupational lung disease, ordinally due to prolonged inhalation of air containing free silicon dioxide. We had chance to perform autopsy of three cases of silicotuberculosis. Both lungs with hard and contracted appearance, were showed massive fibrous adhesion to pleura and also revealed gritty appearance on cut sectioning, and the cut surfaces were shown dark greenish to black pigmentation. Characteristically, many dense black or grey colored silicotic nodules measuring upto 1-4 mm in diameter, with anthracotic pigments distributed throughout both lung parenchyma especially along the peribronchial regions in all three cases, commonly. Microscopically, the nodules were noted as the mass of concentrically laminated dense fibrotic tissue. In addition to those findings, the pulmonary parenchymas were replaced by wide areas of fibrosis and also accompanied with exudative and productive form of tuberculosis (common in all three cases), bronchopneumonia (except case-1) and also compensating emphysema, atelectatic lesions. At the peripheral areas of the silicotic nodules, focal accumulation of the plasma cells, lymphocytes and many foci of endarteritis were shown in three cases, commonly. The silica was confirmed by polarizing microscopy as birefringent, white colored crystals.

      • SM45C의 레이저 표면경화특성

        Laser surface hardening is an effective technique used to improve the tribological properties and also to increase the service life of automobile components such as camshafts, crankshatfs, lorry brake drums and gears. High power CO₂ lasers and Nd:YAG lasers are employed for localized hardening of materials and hence are of potential application in the automobile industries. The heat is conducted rapidly into the bulk of the specimen causing self quenching to occur and the formation of martensitic structure. In this investigation, the microstructure features occurring in Nd:YAG laser hardening SM45C steel are discussed with the use of optical microscopic and scanning electron microscopic analysis. Moreover, This paper describes the optimism of the processing parameters for maximum hardened depth of SM45C steel specimens of 3mm thickness by using CW Nd:YAG laser. Travel speed was varied from 0.6m/min to 1.0m/min. The maximum hardness and case depth fo SM45C steel are 780Hv and 0.4mm by laser hardening.

      • 정사각 덕트의 출구 영역에서 속도분포에 대한 실험적 연구

        A numerical simulation has been performed with the non-linear turbulence model proposed by Speziale(1987) coupled with the k-ε equations coming from the renormalization group theory(RNG) derived by Yakhot et al(1992). The fully developed turbulent flow through a straight square duct, involing secondary motion is simulated. This paper represent computations of the interaction between measurement and numerical computation of turbulent flow on velocity distribution of outlet region in a square duct. RNG turbulent model was adapted and compared with the experimental data and the result of Standard k-ε turbulent model. The predictions obtained with the RNG k-ε model show improvements when compared with the Standard k-ε model. Mean velocity, turbulence kinetic energy and Reynolds shear stresses are in quantitiative agreement with the experimental data. We feel that the RNG k-ε model suggested in this paper can be a useful turbulence model for practical engineering

      • 만성 간질환에 대한 DDB(Biphenyl Dimethyl Dicaboxylate)의 임상적 효과

        To investigate the effects of short-term administration of DDB(Biphenyl Dimethyl Dicarboxylate) for decreasing elevated serum aminotransferase levels in chronic liver diseases, authors applied 3 capsules of DDB per day at each meal time for 35 patients and compared with 35 patients treated with other conservative management. The following results were obtained. 1. Serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels significantly decreased from 247.1± 180.0 IU/L of pretreatment level to 96.6±126.0 IU/L, 61.1±62.7 IU/L and 38.0±26.8 IU/L after 1, 3 and 6 months of treatment(p<0.05) and effective rates were observed in 60.0%, 71.4% and 88.6% of patients after 1, 3 and 6 months of treatment. 2. Serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels decreased also significantly from 167.8±96.9 IU/L of pretreatment levels to 124.4±155.0 IU/L, 77.9±49.6 IU/L, 60.6± 46.9 IU/L after 1, 3 and 6 months of treatment(p<0.05), but decreasing pattern of serum AST was less significant than that of serum ALT. 3. No significant difference were observed in the serum ALT and AST changes according to the cause and duration of hepatitis. 4. No significant adverse effects were observed in whole patients treated with DDB. It is suggested that small dose administration of DDB is effective for decreasing serum aminotrans ferase levels in chronic liver disease in which other conservative management was not effective.

      • 신부전이 동반된 당뇨병 환자에서 발생된 침습성 모균증 : 수술과 Liposomal amphotericin B 및 GM-CSF 병합 요법에 의한 성공적인 치험 1예

        저자들은 신부전이 동반된 당뇨병 환자에서 발생된 부비동형 모균증에 대하여 수술과 함께 liposomal amphotericin B 및 GM-CSF의 복합치료를 하여 성공적으로 치료한 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Mucormycosis (zygomycosis) primarily affects diabetic or immunocompromised patients and typically progresses rapidly, necessitating surgical excision and antifungal therapy with amphotericin B. Large doses of amphotericin B are needed for cure, but it has the risk of causing significant renal toxicity. The recent development of liposomal amphotericin B allows antifungal therapy to be administered with potentially improved efficacy and reduced nephrotoxicity. We have experienced a case of paranasal mucormycosis successfully treated with surgery, liposomal amphotericin B and GM-CSF. A 59-year-old male suffering from diabetes mellitus for 6 years was admitted with pain at left maxillary area. He was diagnosed as mucormycosis after cytologic exam on the necrotic nasal mucosa, which showed typical hyphae. He have had diabetic nephropathy with macroproteinuria and had rapidly rising serum creatinine levels with the amphotericin B treatment: creatinine levels reverted to basal level with the use of liposomal amphotericin B. Despite surgical excision and continued antifungal therapy, his infection was not effectively controlled. Therefore, GM-CSF was administered additionally to improve phagocytic activity of leukocytes. He was finally cured after receiving a combination of aggressive surgery, liposomal amphotericin B and GM-CSF. To our knowledge, this is the first detailed clinical description of the treatment of mucormycosis with liposomal amphotericin B in Korea.

      • 18S-srRNA 분석에 의한 Acantbamoeba 한국 분리주들의 분류 검토

        Acanthamoeba spp. spread in soil, ponds, air and swimming pool, cause a granulomatous amoebic meningitis and amoebic keratitis in human and experimental animals. Their classification had depended upon morphological characteristics and physiological conditions such as thermophilic status and generation times. However, because amoeba species showed the morphological and physiological diversity in isolates, many attempts have been made on identification of Acanthamoeba spp. Restriction fragments length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of IBS-small subunit ribosomal RNA (srRNA) was an useful tool for classification among morphologically and genetically closely-related species. In this study, 18S-srDNAs of amoebae were amplified by PCR with primer encoding 18S-srRNA gene and digested with restriction endonudeases, and RFLP analysis was applied on classification of Acanthamoeba Korean isolates (YM-4, YM-5 and YM-7), comparing with reference amoebae, A. culbertsoni, A. polyphaga and A. royreba. Trophozoites of six Acanthamoeba spp. had typical acanthopoda, but did not show any morphological differences. Cyst of Acanthamoeba sp. YM-7 was similar to that of A. polyphaga which was designated as group Ⅱ Acanthamoeba. Morphologically other amoebae belonged to group Ⅲ Acanthamoeba. Digestion of 18S-srDNA with six enzymes, Dde Ⅰ, Hae Ⅲ, Hind Ⅲ, EcoR Ⅰ, Rsa Ⅰ and Sph Ⅰ, resulted in various DNA fragments. Using the method of Nei and U (1979) for RFLP analysis, genetic divergence was not observed between A culbertsoni and Acanthamoeba sp. YM-4. Between A. culbertsoni and Acanthamoeba sp. YM-5, genetic distance was 0.070, 0.364 between Acanthamoeba sp. YM-4 and A. polyphaga, and 0.277 between Acanthamoeba sp. YM-7 and A. polyphaga. In comparison with A. culbertsoni and A. polyphaga, Acanthamoeba sp. YM-7 showed genetic distance of 0.330 and 0.154, respectively. Thus, Acanthamoeba sp. YM-7 is a similar species to A. polyphaga. Acanthamoeba sp. YM-5 is a different species from A. polyphaga, but closely-related to A. culbertsoni. Acanthamoeba sp. YM-4 can be classified as a subspecies or a strain of A. culbertsoni.
