Fatigue life prediction of fatigue fracture is very important problem. This paper is observed on the surface small crack growth behaviour of smooth specimen. This results were as follows. Surface small crack are created small crack of high density in about 50% of fatigue life, retarded crack growth due to crack coalescence in about 60% and 85%, and when distributed small cracks are growing, it was growthed few large cracks. On the other hand, To analyze crack growth rate used stress intensity factor was difficult due to existed small crack stegnant range.

The College of Engineering was specialized to have a sole function for supplying technical high school teachers in 1977 and referred to as the College of Industrial Education according to the Government's policy. The economic impact mainly due to the oil-crises caused a severe problem to this college, namely discrepancy of supply to demand scale. Accordingly the number of student enrollment was to be fluctuated from 479 in 1979 through 800 in 1979 and 900 in 1980 to 430 in 1981. And the engineering departments have been attached to this Engineering Education College since 1981. These circumstanses met singnificant inefficiency in facility operation. This program aims at providing an overall relocation of the college facilities and preparing the practical system to make the joint-operation possible taking into account circulation, academic stream, budget, maintenance, etc. However this study could not get optimal spacing but some trade-off, considering the current situation.

<P>CW-270033, an injectable carbapenem, is a novel, synthesized pyrrolidinyl-thio carbapenem. In the present study, the <I>in-vitro</I> and <I>in-vivo</I> antibacterial activities of CW-270033 against wild-type strains and clinical isolates were compared with those of imipenem and meropenem. CW-270033 was more active than imipenem against Gram-negative (<I>Escherichia coli</I> and <I>Pseudomonas aeruginosa</I>) clinical isolates, but was slightly less active than meropenem. Against the Gram-positive clinical isolates methicillin-resistant <I>Staphylococcus aureus</I> (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant <I>Enterococcus</I> (VRE), CW-270033 was slightly more active than meropenem, but was less active than imipenem. CW-270033 displayed potent <I>in-vivo</I> activity against<I> E. coli</I> ATCC 25922, <I>P. aeruginosa </I>ATCC 27853, and <I>S. aureus</I> S<SMALL>MITH</SMALL> in the mouse systemic infection model; the efficacy of CW-270033 in this model was 2—7 fold higher than that of meropenem. This activity was comparable to the <I>in-vitro</I> activity of CW-270033. An intravenous injection of CW-270033 showed that the half-life of CW-270033 in serum in mice was about 20 min, which was about two times that of meropenem. CW-270033 was also found to be resistant to hydrolysis by the mouse renal dehydropeptidase I (DHP-I) enzyme.</P>
Pork Quality Traits According to Postmortem pH and Temperature in Berkshire

This study was performed to investigate the role of pH and temperature postmortem, and to demonstrate the importance of these factors in determining meat quality. Postmortem pH<sub>45min</sub> (pH at 45 min postmortem or initial pH) via analysis of Pearson’s correlation showed high positive correlation with pH change pH<sub>c24</sub> (pH change from pH<sub>45min</sub> to pH<sub>24h</sub> postmortem). However, postmortem pH after 24 h (pH<sub>24h</sub> or ultimate pH) had a high negative correlation with pH change, pH<sub>c24</sub>, CIE L*, and protein content. Initial temperature postmortem (T<sub>1h</sub> ) was positively associated with a change in temperature from 45 min to 24 h postmortem (T<sub>c24</sub>) and cooking loss, but negatively correlated with water holding capacity. Temperature at 24 h postmortem (T<sub>24h</sub>) was negatively associated with T<sub>c24</sub>. Collectively, these results indicate that higher initial pH was associated with higher pH<sub>c24</sub>, T<sub>1h</sub>, and T<sub>c24</sub>. However, higher initial pH was associated with a reduction in carcass weight, backfat thickness, CIE a* and b*, water holding capacity, collagen and fat content, drip loss, and cooking loss as well as decreased shear force. In contrast, CIE a* and b*, drip loss, cooking loss, and shear force in higher ultimate pH was showed by a similar pattern to higher initial pH, whereas pH<sub>c24</sub>, carcass weight, backfat thickness, water holding capacity, fat content, moisture content, protein content, T<sub>1h</sub>, T<sub>24h</sub>, and T<sub>c24</sub> were exhibited by completely differential patterns (p<0.05). Therefore, we suggest that initial pH, ultimate pH, and temperatures postmortem are important factors in determining the meat quality of pork.
Undifferentiated endometrial sarcoma mimicking submucosal myoma: A case report

Endometrial stromal tumors are the second most common uterine sarcomas. They are divided into three types; endometrial stromal nodule, endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS), and undifferentiated endometrial sarcoma (UES). UES is much less common than ESS. And it has a much more aggressive clinical course and poorer prognosis than ESS. Case: A 47-year-old woman presented to our hospital with a 4-month history of irregular vaginal bleeding. TVUS revealed a vascularized mass mimicking submucosal myoma in the uterine endometrial cavity. MRI was performed. A 5.9 × 5.1 × 4.8 cm submucosal mass filled up the endometrial cavity. Hysterocopy examination confirmed the protruding mass at the lower portion of the endometrial cavity. The frozen section of the hysteroscopy was reported as malignancy. Subsequently, the patient underwent laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and bilateral pelvic lymph node dissection. There was no cancerous involvement in 19 dissected lymph nodes. The results of immunohistochemical stainings were positive for vimentin and CD56, a few positive for CD68, and negative for smooth muscle actin, desmin, CD10, CD34, pan-cytokeratin, HMB-45, S-100 protein, chromogranins and synaptophysin. Based on these histomorphologic findings, the diagnosis of UES was made. The patient was referred to an oncological center for chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Conclusion: It is important to establish a proper classification of endometrial stromal tumors by cytologic and immunohistochemical findings becase of different clinical course and prognosis.
Solution-processed indium-zinc oxide with carrier-suppressing additives

Metal oxide semiconductors were considered promising materials as backplanes of future displays. Moreover, the adoption of carrier-suppressing metal into indium-zinc oxide (IZO) has become one of the most important themes in the metal oxide research field. In this paper, efforts to realize and optimize IZO with diverse types of carrier suppressors are summarized. Properties such as the band gap of metal in the oxidized form and its electronegativity were examined to confirm their relationship with the metal's carrier-suppressing ability. It was concluded that those two properties could be used as indicators of the carrier-suppressing ability of a material. As predicted by the properties, the alkali earth metals and early transition metals used in the research effectively suppressed the carrier and optimized the electrical properties of the metal oxide semiconductors. With the carrier-suppressing metals, IZO-based thin-film transistors with high (above $1cm^2/V{\cdot}s$) mobility, a lower than 0.6V/dec sub-threshold gate swing, and an over $3{\times}10^6$ on-to-off current ratio could be achieved.
영상처리 기반 비접촉식 타겟을 이용한 원격 변위측정 기법

교량의 노후화에 따라 교량의 안전진단에 대한 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 교량의 정밀진단 시 사용되는 내하력 평가를 위해서는 변위 측정이 요구되며, 다양한 변위 측정 기법이 제안되어 왔다. 하지만 기존의 LVDT와 같은 접촉식 센서의 경우 교량 하부에 직접 센서를 설치하야 하므로 접근하기 어려운 해상교량이나 고가교량에서 활용에 한계가 있었다. 본 연구에서는 비접촉식 영상 기반의 변위 측정 기법을 제안하여 기존의 방식의 문제점을 개선하였다. 특히 비접촉식 방식과 함께 레이져 프로젝션을 이용한 무타겟 방법을 제안하여 교량에 어떠한 설치없이 비접촉 변위를 추정하는 방식을 제안하였으며, 실제 교량에 적용하여 성능을 평가하였다.
Fluorescence-based Assay System for Endocannabinoid Degradation Enzyme, Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase

Endogenous cannabinoids (endocannabinoids) display various pharmacological effects including pain control, anti-inflammation, and neuroprotection. The synthesis and release of endocannabinoids are regulated under both physiological and pathological conditions. The main degrading enzyme of endocannabinoid is fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH). Therefore we have developed the fluorescence-based assay system for FAAH. We established stable CosM6 cell lines expressing human FAAH. We also synthesized 2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl decanoate (DAEC) as a fluorogenic substrate for FAAH. When crude membrane extracts stably expressing FAAH was incubated with DAEC at 25℃, FAAH reacted specifically to DAEC and catalyzes the hydrolysis of DAEC into decanoic acid and highly fluorescent coumarin. Furthermore, the serin hydrolase inhibitor, phenylmethanesulfonylfluoride, inhibited the coumarin release to the reaction buffer in concentration dependent manner. This assay system is suitable for high-throughput screening since this system has simple experimental procedure and measurement method.
