      • 국균세포벽을 모델로 한 새로운 고정화담체의 개발

        The purpose of this investigation was to develop a new carrier using chitin and glucan as the model for Aspergillus oryzae cell wall. In case of the ratio of chitin and glucan(3/1), the activity of the immobilized protease had higher than that of model(chitin/glucan=1/3) and carriers were formed gel. In case of soluble chitin and glucan treated with calcium carbonate, there were a 1.8-fold increase in activity of immobilized protease compared with untreated chitin. The scanning electron microscope image showed that a pore size of this carrier had a homogenized pore size and a smooth surface.

        성신여자대학교 교내 및 주변 음식점의 물이 음용수로써 적합한지의 여부를 검사하였다. 검수 속의 금속 및 중금속이온은 원자흡수분광법을, 무기 음이온은 이온쌍 크로마토그래피법을, 그리고 휘발성 유기물질은 Purge & Trap과 기체크로마토그래피법을 각각 이용하여 분석하였으며 물속에 들어 있는 대장균과 일반세균의 검출은 계절별로 실시하였다. 교내 검수 결과 대부분의 경우 금속 및 중금속 이온, 무기물 음이온, 휘발성 유기물질들은 환경부에서 제시한 기준치 이하로 검출되었으며 세균의 경우 일반 세균의 양은 기준치를 약간 넘는 양이었으나 대장균은 검출되지 않았다. 정수기를 통과한 물인 경우 일반 세균의 수가 감소한 것으로 보아 정수기의 필터만 잘 관리한다면 일반 세균까지도 제거할 수 있다는 장점을 나타내었다. 학교 주변의 경우도 대부분 기준치 이하로 존재하였으나 세균검사의 경우 여름철로 들어서서는 일반 세균의 검출수도 많아졌으며 특히 대장균이 검출된 경우도 있었다. Analysis of drnking water in and around Sungshin Women's University was carried out using Atomic absorption spectrometer for metal and heavy metal ion, Ion pair chromatography system for inorganic anions, and Purge & Trap and Gas chromatography system for volatile organic compounds. In addition we also measured the drinking water for bacteria and coli each season. Most chemical species in the school's drinking water tested below the maximum levels suggested by Korea's Ministry of Environment. Moreover, the number of bacterial colony is just above the suggested levels and there is no detection of coli. Around school the results were almost identical; however in the summer, some of the sampling water showed coli and an increase of bacterial colonies. The most significant result is there is much less or no detection of bacteria and coli in drinking water from clean sources than in water from unclean sources.

      • 광주지방 부유분진의 농도변화

        This study analyzes the diurnal, seasonal and annual variations of TSP in Kwangju and investigates the relation of TSP to air temperature and to RH. The data used in this study are observed from Meteorological Office and Environmental Bureau in Kwangju and the period of observation was from Jan. 1, 1991 to Dec. 31, 1993. The diurnal variation of TSP shows two vibration curves and the diurnal means are 67.9㎍/㎥. The time the diurnal maximum value is shown is 10:00 A.M. and that diurnal minimum value is shown is 06:00 A.M. The diurnal range is 55.9㎍/㎥. In this diurnal variation of TSP by season, the concentration is high in winter, spring, autumn and summer in order. The annual variation of TSP shows one vibration curve, the maximum value in April and the minimum one in August. The annual range is 43.6㎍/㎥. As a result of the regression analysis for examining the relations of TSP to air temperature and to RH, a regular polynomial regression expression is made on time series. TSP has a great significance in the diurnal variation with air temperature, but it has a little significance in the annual variation. TSP and RH have a significance in the diurnal and annual variation and show the inverse propertion with them.

      • 갓김치 ether 추출물의 발효 과정상의 생리 기능성 변화

        일반 김치의 경우 17±1℃에서 2일 사이에 pH가 4.0에 이르는 것에 비해 갓김치의 경우 18℃에서 저장한 경우에 14일 경에 pH가 4.0(Fig.1)에 이르러 일반 김치 보다 저장성이 3~5배 높은 것으로 나타났으며 총균수에서도 비슷한 양상을 나타내었다. 또한 간암세포에 대한 항암성에서 IC30의 농도가 발효기간별 시료 모두 1000㎍이상으로 나타났으며 발효 0일째 시료가 1000㎍에서 50%의 간암세포 사멸성을 나타내서 가장 항암효과가 우수한 것으로 나타났고, 간정상세포에 대해서는 1000㎍ 이상에서도 28% 이하의 사멸성을 나타내서 정상세포에 대해 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 항산화 효과에 있어서는 초기(0~2일) 발효시 수소공여능이 53%로 나타나서 다른 식품 추출물의 항산화 효과에 비해서는 비교적 높은 효과를 나타내었다. 그러나 발효 14일에는 15%로 감소되어서, ethyl ether에 의해 추출되어 항산화 효과를 나타내었던 물질들이 발효가 진행됨에 따라 감소된 것으로 사료되었다. The anticancer and antioxidative effects of Mustard Leaf Kimch ether extracts according to various fermentation period were investigated. pH of the Mustard Leaf Kimchi was reached at 4.0 on 14th day, so the period reaching well-fermentating state was up to 3~5 times longer than that of ordinary Kimchi. The anticancer effect on HepG2 by the addition of fermented Mustard Leaf Kimchi ether extracts was higher than that on CCL-13. IC30 of Mustard Leaf Kimchi in HepG2 was showed more than 1000㎍.Especially, 50% of death ratio was showed in HepG2 cells by the addition of ether extracts(0 day). the other side. 28% of death ratio was shown in CCL-13 up to 1000㎍ of ether extracts. As well as the Mustard Leaf Kimchi ether extracts(0-2 days) showed higher antioxidative effect than of others. The hydrogen donor activity was 53% at initial fermentation period, but it was decreased at 14% on 14th day. So, ether soluble antioxidative materials in Mustard Leaf Kimchi was decreased during fermentation.

        A 13-year-old, castrated male, Maltese-dog was admitted to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with the history fo petechiae. On physical examination, she had petechiae and ecchymoses at her back, bilateral inguinal region, and inner part of ear pinna. CBC indicated neutrophilia and severe thrombocytopenia. A few platelets, no autoagglutination of RBC, and no spherocyte were observed. Coagulation profile demonstrated normal PT, and aPTT. No significant findings was not found on serum biochemical profile and electolytes test. FNA of a splenic mass which was found on the abdominal radiograph and sonograph demonstrated extramedullary hematopoiesis, Proteinuria was observed on urinarysis. Primary immune-mediated thrombocytopenia was diagnosed by ruling out of other underlying disease, severe thrombocytopenia, and response to immunosuppressive therapy. Prednisone and antibiotics were administered orally and parenterally, respectively. After altering prednisone to azathioprine, the number of platelets was recovered to normal range and petechiae and ecchymoses were improved.

        운동이 정신분열증 환자의 세로토닌과 도파민 분비에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of exercise training on Serotonin and Dopamine level in schizophrenic patients. The subjects consisted of 12 schizophrenic patients and 6 normal individuals between 20 and 30 years old, were invided into three groups: 1) Experimental group(N=6), 2) Control group(N=6),3) Compared group(N=6). Subjects participated in aerobic and strength exercise program for 8 weeks according to the exercise prescriptions. They performed exercise for 1 hours per day, three times a week at 50-60% of HRpeak. The changes of serotonin, dopamine level in the subjetcs before and after the treadmill exercise program have been measured. The results were been compared to serotonin, dopamine between all groups. The results were as follows; 1. Effects of exercise training on serotonin level in three groups were not changed significantly and changed significantly within those groups after acute exercise and resting. Interaction effect within group and treatment time was not significantly changed. 2. Effects of exercise training on dopamine level in three groups were not changed significantly and changed significantly within those groups after acute exercise and resting. Interaction effect within group and treatment time was not significantly changed.

      • 효소적 방법으로 제조된 키토산 올리고당의 첨가에 따른 김치의 숙성 및 저장 기간 연장에 관한 연구

        효소로 처리된 키토산 올리고당의 첨가에 의한 김치의 숙성 기간 연장 효과를 알아보기 위하여 배추김치에는 0.2-0.4%, 2일째에 0.4%를 첨가하여 20℃에서 10일간 관찰한 결과 0.2% 첨가시 대조군에 비해 2일, 0.4% 첨가시는 4일, 2일째에 0.4%를 첨가한 경우는 8일 이후로 연장 효과가 2-4배 있었으며, 0.4% 이상에서는 미생물 생육자체가 억제되므로 풍미 및 유기산의 생성을 고려할 때 2일째 첨가된 0.4%가 젖산균의 수는 어느정도 유지하면서 stationary phage를 연장시킴으로서 더 좋은 결과를 나타냈다. 갓 김치의 경우 0.1%-0.5% 첨가시 대조군에 비해 1.2-1.4배의 연장 효과가 있어서 배추 김치에 비해서는 낮은 효과를 나타냈다. 따라서, 효소로 처리된 키토산 올리고당의 첨가에 의해 배추 김치는 2-4배의 연장 효과, 갓김치는 1.2-1.4배의 연장 효과를 나타내어 미생물 증식 억제에 의한 김치의 숙성 및 저장 기간 연장 효과를 기대할 수 있었다. To prolong the fermenting and preservation period of Kimchi, chitosanoligosaccharide was prepared by chitosanase. Various concentrations of chitosanoligosaccharide were added into Chinese cabbage Kimchi and Gat Kimchi. Chinese cabbage Kimchi was formulated with various chitosanoligosaccharide concentrations(0.2-0.4%) and fermented at 20℃. And Gat Kimchi was prepared with various chitosanoligosaccharide(0.1-0.5%) concentrations during 26 days at 4℃. In this results, the fermentation period was increased 2-2.5 and 1.2-1.4 folds more than control(0% of chitosanoligosaccharide) for Chinese cabbage Kimchi and Gat Kimchi, respectively. Conclusively, adding of chitosanoligosaccharide into Kimchi significantly prolonged the fermentation and preservation period.

        경구진정 실패 후 피부 도포마취제를 사용한 정주진정으로의 전환 치료

        Chloral hydrate와 hydroxizine을 이용한 경구진정법은 적용대상의 나이와 체중에 따라 제한을 받는다. 일반적으로 경구 진정법은 36개월 미만, 체중 15 kg 미만의 환아에서 가장 좋은 진정 효과를 보인다. 그러나 36개월 이상 또는 15 kg 이상의 환아에 대해서는 경구진정법이 적절한 진정 효과를 얻는데 한계를 가지며, 얕은진정으로 인해 시술 중 잦은 움직임을 보여 쉽게 진정에 실패하게 된다. 진정 실패 시 고려 할 수 있는 대안은 추가적인 약제 투여로 인한 재진정의 유도나, 좀 더 깊은진정법으로의 전환이 있다 그러나 갚은진정법으로의 전환은 환아의 움직임과 동통의 감소를 위해 흡입마취재 및 마취기계가 요구되어 외래 진료실에서는 쉽게 선택되지 못한다. EMLA cream(Eutectic Mixture of Local Anesthesia)은 피부의 도포마취를 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 약제로 본 증례에서는 이를 이용하여 자극 없이 정주진정 경로를 확보하여 경구진정에서 정주진정으로의 전환에 성공하였다. 만 46개월, 체중 15 kg 남아가 다발성 우식을 주소로 단국대학교 치과대학 병원 소아치과에 내원하였다. 일반적인 행동조절 하에 치료 권유하였으나 보호자의 요구에 의해 경구진정 시도하였으며, 경구진정 실패를 고려하여 복용 전 EMLA cream을 사전 도포하였다. 경구 복용 90분 경과 뒤에도 진정효과를 얻지 못하여 보호자의 동의하에 아산화질소를 이용하여 얕은진정 유도 후, EMLA cream 도포 부위에 정맥로를 확보하였다. 총 시술 시간 2시간 30분으로 특별한 부작용 없이 성공적으로 시술을 완료하였다. The use of chloral hydrate and hydroxyzine for oral sedation is most effective in children aged less than 36 months and weighing less than 15 kg. Children who do not belong to this category may show frequent movements due to shallow sedation level, and it can lead to sedation failures. One of the solutions to such sedation failure is conversion to deeper sedation. But, it is not so much of an option, since inhalation anesthetics and devices are required. In this case, conversion from oral sedation to intravenous sedation was successfully achieved without causing injection pain while searching for an intravenous route, by using EMLA cream (Eutectic Mixture of Local Anesthesia). A patient aged 46 months and weighing 15 kg visited the Pediatric Department of Dankook University Dental Hospital. Treatment under TSD(Tell Show Do) was offered, but due to the parent's request, oral sedative measures were taken. Considering prompt converting from oral sedation to iv sedation in case the oral sedation fails, EMLA cream was apllied preemptively. Adequate sedation level could not be achieved after 90 minutes of oral administration, therefore, under the parent s consent, intravenous route was prepared after conscious sedation by N₂O-O₂. During treatment, ETCO₂, SPO₂and heart rate was monitored every 5 minutes. The patient showed stable vital signs and did not show any movements. The whole procedure took two and a half hours in total, and the treatment was completed without any adverse effects.

      • 개에서 발생한 신우신염 증례

        A 6 years old Schunauzer dog (7.2kg, intact female) with history of hematuria for two days was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University. Complete blood cell count showed no significant abnormalities and serum chemistry profile showed increased phosphate profile. On urinanalysis, there was evidence of bacterial infection. On ultrasonographic evaluation, irregular renal contour and increased echogenecity, pelvic and uretral dilation, and thickening of urinary bladder wall were observed. Based on these finding, the dog was diagnosed as pyelonephritis. The dog was treated with antibiotics based on antimicrobial susceptibility test results, then successfully resolved after 8 weeks of treatment.
