Severe Adverse Events of Periocular Acupuncture: A Review of Cases
Sang-Mok Lee(Sang-Mok Lee),Jun Wu(Jun Wu),Daniel Duck-Jin Hwang(Daniel Duck-Jin Hwang ) 대한안과학회 2023 Korean Journal of Ophthalmology Vol.37 No.3
Acupuncture is recognized as a component of alternative medicine and is increasingly used worldwide. Many studies have shown the various effects of acupuncture around the eyes for ophthalmologic or nonophthalmologic conditions. For ophthalmologic conditions, the effect of acupuncture on dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, myopia, amblyopia, ophthalmoplegia, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, blepharospasm, and blepharoptosis has been reported. Recently, several studies on dry eye syndrome have been reported and are in the spotlight. However, given the variety of study designs and reported outcomes of periocular acupuncture, research is still inconclusive, and further studies are required. In addition, although a systematic and reliable safety assessment is required, to the best of our knowledge, there have been no reports of a literature review of ocular complications resulting from periocular acupuncture. This review collected cases of ocular injury as severe adverse events from previously published case reports of periocular acupuncture. A total of 14 case reports (15 eyes of 14 patients) of adverse events published between 1982 and 2020 were identified. This review article provides a summary of the reported cases and suggestions for the prevention and management of better visual function prognosis.
HECTOMAP AND HORIZON RUN 4: DENSE STRUCTURES AND VOIDS IN THE REAL AND SIMULATED UNIVERSE
Hwang, Ho Seong,Geller, Margaret J.,Park, Changbom,Fabricant, Daniel G.,Kurtz, Michael J.,Rines, Kenneth J.,Kim, Juhan,Diaferio, Antonaldo,Zahid, H. Jabran,Berlind, Perry,Calkins, Michael,Tokarz, Susa American Astronomical Society 2016 The Astrophysical journal Vol.818 No.2

HectoMAP is a dense redshift survey of red galaxies covering a 53 deg(2) strip of the northern sky. HectoMAP is 97% complete for galaxies with r < 20.5, (g-r) > 1.0, and (r -i) > 0.5. The survey enables tests of the physical properties of large-scale structure at intermediate redshift against cosmological models. We use the Horizon Run 4, one of the densest and largest cosmological simulations based on the standard. Cold Dark Matter (Lambda CDM) model, to compare the physical properties of observed large-scale structures with simulated ones in a volume-limited sample covering 8 x 10(6) h(-3) Mpc(3) in the redshift range 0.22 < z < 0.44. We apply the same criteria to the observations and simulations to identify over-and under-dense large-scale features of the galaxy distribution. The richness and size distributions of observed over-dense structures agree well with the simulated ones. Observations and simulations also agree for the volume and size distributions of under-dense structures, voids. The properties of the largest over-dense structure and the largest void in HectoMAP are well within the distributions for the largest structures drawn from 300 Horizon Run 4 mock surveys. Overall the size, richness and volume distributions of observed large-scale structures in the redshift range 0.22 < z < 0.44 are remarkably consistent with predictions of the standard Lambda CDM model.

COMPACT BRAZED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS FOR CO2 HEAT PUMP WATER HEATERS
DANIEL LEIGHTON,YUNHO HWANG,REINHARD RADERMACHER 대한설비공학회 2010 International Journal Of Air-Conditioning and Refr Vol.18 No.4
The plate-type heat exchanger is found to be well suited for the application of a transcritical CO2 heat pump water heater. A CO2 heat pump water heater test facility was used to evaluate the performance of a high-pressure plate-type heat exchanger. The performance characteristics of heat exchanger effectiveness, capacity, and pressure drop were evaluated over a range of CO2 gas cooler inlet pressures and temperatures. For the ambient temperature range of 10°C to 30°C, the maximum observed capacities ranged from 4.46 kW to 5.34 kW, with the capacity increasing approximately linearly with increasing ambient temperature. Over this maximum capacity range, the effectiveness of the gas cooler ranged from 98.7% to 99.4%, with the effectiveness increasing with decreasing ambient temperature. The largest gas cooler pressure drop was approximately 130 kPa at a volumetric flow rate of 128 cm3/s, which is the flow rate resulting from the optimum system operating conditions at an ambient temperature of 30°C.
