        As a computer and telecommunication technology developed and the degree of dependence on information has increased, the concept of office building is rapidly changing. Intelligent Building is defined as the construction equipped with advanced information systems in order to cope with the development of advanced information industry. The purpose of this study is to propose the construction method of Intelligent Building System for performing the function as a information system by examining it synthetically. The construction method of IBS is as follows : At the first stage, Building Automation, Office Automation and Telecommunication is seperated respectively and established along with LAN. LAN cannot control the whole building system, but it holds communication function. At the third stage, all the facilities in the building, OA system and TC system ate integrated through LAN.

        Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rare, life-threatening infection resulting in necrosis of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and fascia. A very severe and usually fatal fasciitis is caused by a virulent species of streptococcus that is often referred to as the "flesh-eating bacteria". Mortality rates have been noted high. Certain conditions can predispose patients to NF, such as diabetes mellitus, immunosuppressive medications, and AIDS. Patients usually complain of excessive pain as well as constitutional symptoms. Because of this rapid progression, it is important to diagnose and treat NF quickly to decrease mortality. Treatment includes broad-spectrum antibiotic coverage, nutritional supplements, hemodynamic support, wound care, and prompt surgical debridement. We report a case of a 51-year-old man who had presented with right hip pain. Previously, he had been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and alcoholic liver cirrhosis.

      • CITIS 지원 문서관리 시스템 설계에 대한 연구

        본 연구에서는 일반 기업간에 전자상거래를 지원하기 위한 CITIS(Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service)를 지원하는 문서관리 시스템을 개발하기 위하여, MIL-STD-974의 요구사항과 일반적으로 상용화되어 있는 문서관리 시스템의 기능적 요구 사항을 검토하였다. 이것을 바탕으로 기업간 기술정보 교환의 근간이 될 수 있는 CITIS를 지원하는 문서관리 시스템의 기능을 도출하였다. 조달자인 정부와 공급자인 기업간의 계약에 의한 기술정보 서비스로서의 CITIS 요구사항을 기본으로 하되, 이를 CALS 환경에서 기술정보 서비스에 적용할 수 있도록 개발 요구 사항을 재정립하였다. 일반적인 문서관리 시스템의 기능은 현재 시장에서 상용화되어 있는 PDM 제품의 기능을 분석하여 참조하였다. 한편 CITIS 지원을 위한 부품 구조 관리 기능과 연계를 위하여 문서와 부품 간의 관계가 고려되었으며, 작업흐름관리와의 연동을 위해서는 전자 결재판 개념의 패킷 객체가 고안되었다. 소프트웨어 설계 방법론으로는 객체지향형 소프트웨어 개발 방법론을 채택하여 CITIS 구현을 위한 객체 모델, 동적 모델, 기능 모델을 작성하였다. 소프트웨어 개발 언어는 인터넷 웹 브라우저를 근간으로 활용될 수 있도록 Java를 이용하며, 다른 응용분야와의 손쉬운 통합을 위하여 CORBA 개념을 도입하였다.

      • 폐석재와 석분을 사용한 식생블럭 제품 개발

        본 연구는 폐석재와 석분을 사용하여 친환경적인 식생블럭 제품을 개발하기 위하여 폐석재의 입경과 석분의 첨가량을 각각 3종류씩 총 9종류의 식생블럭에 대하여 단위중량, 공극율, 투수량, 압축강도, 쪼갬인장강도, 휨강도, 내산성, 알카리농도에 대하여 구명하였다. 단위중량, 강도, 내산성은 골재의 입경이 작을수록 석분의 혼입량이 많을수록 크게 나타났으며, 공극율과 투수량은 작게 나타났다. 강도는 중성화 처리 유무에 따라 4∼5% 정도의 미소한 차이가 나타났다. 알카리 농도는 중성화 약품처리, 수중용출, 야외폭로 순으로 효과가 크게 나타났으며, 이는 식생블럭의 중성화 방법 선택에 매우 중요한 내용이라 할 수 있다. 또한, 식생상태는 공극율과 골재의 입경이 큰 식생블럭이 생육에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. This study was performed to develop the environment-friendly plantable block and to evaluate unit weight, void ratio, permeability, strength, acid-resistance and value of pH by the change of the grading of waste stone and the addition amount of stone dust. The unit weight, strength, acid-resistance is increased with small size of waste stone with increase of the addition amount of stone dust. But, the void ratio and permeability is decreased. The strength of neutral plantable block is decreased approximately 4-5% than that of the normal plantable block. The decreased effect of pH increased in order to neutral treatment, underwater leaching and field exposure. It is very important contents in neutral method selection of plantable block. Also, the planting state is grown rapidly with increase of the void ratio and of the waste stone size, approximately.

        Improved Plant Image Segmentation Method using Vegetation Indices and Automatic Thresholds

        We address improved plant image segmentation based on histograms which requires using a vegetation index and threshold. Image segmentation is the most important step for extracting targets, such as vegetation, from images; this affects successful detection of plant information. Forty-two field images were acquired from a soybean field using an RGB camera. Through K-means clustering analysis, we built a new vegetation index        and generated gray-scale images. Otsu and Triangle thresholds were used to convert contrast images to binary. Optimal threshold values were generally located between the Otsu and Triangle threshold values. The combined threshold method shows 98.79% and 0.95% of mean accuracy and standard deviation, respectively, whereas the Otsu and Triangle method results show 98.17±1.71% and 97.85±1.87%, respectively. These results show that the combined method has significant segmentation potential through one-way ANOVA. Then we compared the results with K-means clustering using two-sample t-test. The K-means method’s mean accuracy is 98.18±1.79%, with no significant difference between the proposed and K-means methods. However, the proposed method’s processing time is 0.60±0.01 s, i.e., twice faster than the K-means method (1.72±0.24 s).

      • Fabrication of metal-oxide-free CH3NH3PbI3perovskite solar cells processed at low temperature

        <P>Efficient metal-oxide-free perovskite solar cells were successfully developed by employing the N-I-P architecture. The modified solvent engineering process employing a diethylether drip as an orthogonal solvent enabled fabrication of a multi-layered device comprising FTO/PEI/PCBM/MAPbI3/PTAA/Au at low temperature (≤100 °C). Optimization of the thickness of the phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) layer in the planar device yielded an overall power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 15.3% with a large hysteresis but a steady-state efficiency of 13.9% under AM 1.5G 100 mW cm<SUP>−2</SUP>illumination. The use of the low-temperature processed dense-TiO2layer in conjunction with the PCBM layer gave rise to performance comparable to that of the single electron transport layer (ETL) device and enabled fabrication of an efficient, flexible perovskite solar cell with a PCE of 11.1%.</P>

      • Genetic Variants of IL-13 and IL-4 in the Korean Population: Polymorphisms, Haplotypes and Linkage Disequilibrium

        Asthma is an inflammatory airways disease characterized by bronchial hyperresponsiveness and airways obstruction, which results from a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Interleukin (IL)-13 and IL-4 are important in IgE synthesis and allergic inflammation, therefore genes encoding IL-13 and IL-4 are candidates for predisposition to asthma. In the present study, we screened single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IL-13 and IL-4 and examined whether they are risk factors for asthma. We resequenced all exons and the promoter region in 12 asthma patients and 12 normal controls, and identified 18 SNPs including 2 novel SNPs. The linkage disequilibrium(LD) pattern was evaluated with 16 common SNPs, and haplotypes were also estimated within the block. Although IL-13 and IL-4 are localized within 27 kb on chromosome 5q31 and share many biological profiles, this region was partitioned into 2 blocks. One SNP and three SNPs were determined as haplotype-taggingSNPs (htSNPs) within IL-13 and IL-4 haplotype-block, respectively. No significant associations were observed between any of the SNPs or haplotypes and development of asthma in small number of Korean subjects. However, the genetic variants of IL-13 and IL-4 would provide valuable strategies for the genotyping studies in large population.

        Geometric structural insights for enhanced radiative efficiency: Spiro[fluorene–carbazole]-based ortho-carboranyl luminophores

        We herein report the preparation of two compounds (C1 and C2) with an ortho-carborane cage appended at the C4-position of the fluorene (C1) or carbazole (C2) moiety of their spiro[fluorene–carbazole] scaffolds. Photoluminescence spectra of both compounds in solution at 298 K did not demonstrate any emissive trace; however, those of both compounds in solution at 77 K and in the film state exhibited strong orange emission. Interestingly, the quantum efficiency and radiative decay constant of C2 in the film state were much higher than that of C1. This distinctly showed that the position of the ocarborane unit on the scaffold strongly affected the efficiency of the radiative decay process based on intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) transitions. These findings revealed that that the electronic environment of the scaffold-molecule linked with the o-carborane cage plays an important role to control the ICTbased radiative decay process.
