This study aims to examine whether elastic band exercise influences aged women with mild cognitive impairment(MCI) with the dementia-related gene(Apo e4) in terms of their dementia rating, and cardiovascular risk factors. As the subjects of this paper, selected 34 aged women with MCI with Apo e4 among the aged women living in nursing facilities. They are divided into two groups through random assignment. The exercise program is conducted for total 12 weeks, in the intensity of HRR 40 to 60%, 3 times a week, and for 60 minutes a day. As the variables to be measured, their dementia scale are measured, and among the cardiovascular risk factors(TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C) are measured. For the data processing, the study employs Two-way ANOVA and analyzed its effects by periods and groups. Regarding the interactive effects, the main effect post-test is performed as paired t-test. About their change in terms of dementia rating and by items, the exercise group gains a higher point in the dementia rating test. And there is significant difference in their orientation of time, linguistic ability, memory storing ability, and linguistic delay and recalling ability. About their cardiovascular risk factors’ change, TG and LDL-C are significantly reduced. In conclusion, the elastic band exercise plays critical roles in aged women with MCI with Apo e4 in terms of their functional fitness, dementia rating, and cardiovascular risk factors. Thus, it is concluded to helpfully play better roles in delaying the speed of their transfer from MCI to Alzheimer’s and also preventing dementia as well.

This study aims to examine the effects of 12weeks elastic band exercise on the functional fitness, dementia scale, and cardiovascular risk factors of aged MCI women. This research selected 34 aged MCI women living in sanatoriums or nursing homes and divided them into two groups of the exercise group and non-exercise group, 17 for each. All the research participants diligently cooperated with the measurement for body composition variables (weight, height, body fat percentage, fat free mass), functional fitness variables (arm curl, chair stand, up-and-Go Test, sit-and-reach, back scratch, 6-minute walking) before and after the experiment. The exercise program was conducted regularly three times a week, 60 minutes per session, and in rating of perceived exertion RPE 11~15 levels and HRR 40-60% intensity for 12 weeks. To process the data gained before and after the 12weeks elastic band exercise program used in this research, SPSS PC Version 18.0 was used. For all the variables gained through experimental treatment among the groups, averages and standard deviations were calculated. The inter-group difference was verified with the design of two-way ANOVA with repetition. When there was interactive effect, for the post-test on the period’s chief effect, paired t-test was performed. The significant level α was .05, and the chief results gained in this study are as described below. Regarding the changes of functional fitness after the 12-week elastic band exercise treatment, there was significant difference in arm curl and chair standing for muscular strength, sit-and-reach and back scratch to the right for flexibility, up-and-Go Test for agility, and 6-minute walking for whole body endurance.

The purpose of this study is to examine the influences on the CRP(C-reactive protein), functional fitness for target over 65 years old obesity elder women who performed seniorobic exercise program for 20 weeks. This experiment has performed on 30 elder women who lives in U city, over 65 years old and body fat percentage over 25% then assigned them in two groups randomly as 15 people in experimental group and other 15 people in control group. Exercising frequency of seniorobic exercise program is 60 minutes a day, 3 times a week, for total period 20 weeks. CRP quantity, functional fitness(leg strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance) were measured before and after training. Data was analyzed with the statistics program SPSS/PC ver 18.0, using ANCOVA which used the preliminary examination as covariance in case there was a difference in the prior value. Level of significance was set to .05 during the examination. First, CRP quantification of the experimental group was significantly reduced than before and after (p〈.05). Second, the experimental leg strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance of functional fitness were significantly increase in before and after(p〈.05). In conclusion, seniorobic exercise program for 20 weeks gave positive impact to CRP quantity, functional fitness for obesity elder women aged over 65 years.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of participation of a line dance program (line dance group, n=18, control group, n=23) on the metabolic syndrome risk factors, blood inflammatory markers, and senior living fitness factors during 12 weeks. Analysis of the metabolic syndrome risk factors, there were significant interactive effects according to the group and time in the waist circumference(F=4.705. p<.05), systolic blood pressure(F=4.039, p<.05), diastolic blood pressure(F=4.039, p<.05), HDL-cholesterol(F=5.070, p<.05) and glucose(F=3.955, p<.05) level. However, a statically significant effect was not found in the triglyceride level. In the blood inflammatory markers, there were significant difference according to the time in C-reactive protein(F=4.450, p<.05) and fibrinogen(F=5.993, p<.01), while the white blood cell had no significant difference. In analysis of the senior living fitness factors, there were significant differences according to the group and time in 6m walking(F=3.760, p<.05), sitting and standing on chair(F=30.709, p<.OO1), lifting dumbbell(F=25.085, p<.001), grasping hands at back(F=3.900, p<.05), 244㎝ going and returning(F=14.255, p<.001), while the standing with one foot had no significant difference. Therefore, we suggest that the line dance programs of 12 weeks could be recommended for positive improvement and enhancement of metabolic syndrome risk factors, blood inflammatory markers, and senior living fitness factors in Korean elderly men.
