Evaluation of mycelial growth of Lentinula edodes and Ganoderma lucidum originated from South Korea and Brazil

        Márcia Araújo Motta,Jeonghwa Jang,Mijeong Kim,Eunsil Choi,Jiyoung Kim,Anna Carolina Torracca-Rocha,Won-Sik Kong,Arailde Fontes Urban 한국버섯학회 2017 한국버섯학회지 Vol.15 No.2

The choice of strain, substrate, and environmental conditions are fundamental factors that determine the ability of a fungus to develop and produce mushrooms with high quality. The objective of this study was to compare the strains of Lentinula edodes and Ganoderma lucidum originated from South Korea and Brazil in relation to their vegetative development in different culture media, to obtain isolates with high quality. The strains of the two mushroom species from Brazil and South Korea grew slowly, possibly because of abiotic factors or storage technique used. However, it may be concluded that temperature, humidity, light, pH, and nutrients from the substrate, if not regulated appropriately may affect the vegetative species.

      • 알레르기성 자반증 환자에서 캡슐내시경으로 공장궤양을 진단한 1예

        이용강,오탁근,최아라,이지훈,김미나,홍성필 고신대학교의과대학 2012 고신대학교 의과대학 학술지 Vol.27 No.1

Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is the most common form of systemic vasculitis in children. Palpable purpura, arthralgia, arthritis, abdominal pain and renal involvement are the major clinical manifestations. Gastrointestinal involvement is related with abdominal pain and bleeding. We described a 71 year-old female experienced acute exacerbation of HSP presented with gastrointestinal bleeding. She was hospitalized for hematemesis and diagnosed duodenitis by esophagogastroduonenoscopy (EGD). Duodenitis was improved at EGD checked in 7 days. She still complained of melena and abdominal pain. There were no abnormal findings at sigmoidoscopy. Jejunal ulcer and purpura were diagnosed by capsule endoscopy. Symptoms were relieved after administration of systemic steroid. But she needed renal replacement therapy for 3 months. Small bowel ulcer diagnosed by capsule endoscopy in patients with HSP was rarely described in Korean literature. This case suggests that capsule endoscopy have a role in diagnosis of small bowel ulcer and its severity in HSP with gastrointestinal symptom.

Window Creativity of a Fashion Store -Its Effects on Consumer Emotions and Behavioral Intentions-

        ( Ara Choi ),( Ju Yeun Jang ),( Ho Jung Choo ) 한국의류학회 2020 한국의류학회지 Vol.44 No.1

This study investigates the multi-dimensional structure of fashion store window creativity and examines its effects on consumer responses. Through an expert evaluation survey, this study proposes that fashion store window creativity involves originality, relevance, and artistry. Two experiments are conducted to test the proposed hypotheses. Consumers' emotional responses to the level of window creativity are collected using psychophysiological and self-report methods. Fashion store window creativity has positive effects on psychophysiological affective responses. When the three dimensions of creativity are specified as explanatory factors of emotional responses, relevance and artistry show positive effects on arousal and pleasure, whereas originality has a negative effect on pleasure. Its effect on attitudes is mediated by arousal and pleasure; in addition, the effect on entering intentions is mediated by arousal. Attitudes toward window display also have a positive effect on entering intentions. This study extends existing research on creativity in marketing into the context of visual merchandising in fashion store windows. Findings provide meaningful implications in that the effects of fashion store window creativity on emotions affect consumer attitudes and behavioral intention. By adopting multiple approaches in the empirical phase of this study, the findings are built on strong reliability and validity.

무엇이 한국 청소년들을 행복하게 하는가: 부모의 양육행동과 주관적 안녕감의 관계에서 자율성의 매개효과

        최아라 ( Ara Choi ),이숙 ( Sook Lee ) 대한가정학회 2019 Human Ecology Research(HER) Vol.57 No.4

Korean adolescents have a lower subjective well-being compared to their counterparts in other Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development member countries as well as experience more psychological difficulties than adults. Previous research shows that parenting behavior has a considerable influence on adolescent subjective well-being. Additionally, the personality dimension of self-directedness, the ability to regulate personal behavior to obtain onindividual goals, has a positive influence on subjective well-being. This study analyzed the structural relationship between parenting behavior, self-directedness, and the subjective well-being of Korean adolescents as well as investigated the mediating effect of self-directedness in the relationships between parenting behaviors and the subjective well-being of adolescents. Participants were 325 middle school students in Gwangju, Korea, who completed measures of self-directedness (from the Korean Junior Temperament and Character Inventory), subjective well-being (Well-Being Scale of Adolescents in Korea), and perceived parenting behaviors (My Memories of Upbringing - Short Korean version). Results showed that emotional warmth had a statistically significant direct impact on adolescents’ subjective well-being. However, the findings also indicated a statistically significant indirect impact mediated by self-directedness. Rejection and overprotection had a statistically significant indirect effect on adolescents’ subjective well-being that was mediated by self-directedness. The results provide information that can be used to develop programs to improve the subjective well-being of adolescents as well as confirm the importance of parenting behavior and self-directedness during adolescence.

        최아라(Choi, Ara) 한국부모놀이치료학회 2021 한국부모놀이치료학회지 Vol.- No.11

The purpose of this study is to examine the difficulties that vulnerable children are experiencing in the COVID-19 pandemic, and discuss ways to solve them. First, low-income children were found to be worried about meals, and also experienced difficulties due to poor living conditions and online classes. Second, children with disabilities experience difficulties in their development and learning because they do not receive special education and treatment, and family members who care for disabled children also experience difficulties in caring for children with disabilities. Third, children from grandparents and single-parent families were found to experience economic difficulties. Children raised by grandparents experienced difficulties in online learning and single-parent children were found to experience difficulties due to the absence of childcare. Forth, in the case of institutionalized children, it was found that the risk of infection and the occurrence of conflict were increased due to the structure of multiple children living together in one space. COVID-19 appears to have a negative impact on various areas of the lives of vulnerable children, so prompt response from the government and local governments is required.
