        면접조사를 통한 초등학생의 영양교육 실태 및 실천도 조사

        This study investigated the experience and practice of elementary school students on nutrition education. The data were collected from 217 male and female students attending 5-6th grade elementary schools in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do from March to June 2007, interviewing face to face by a nutrition teacher and 3 interns of a nutrition teacher. The results were as follows: 86.5% of the subjects learned about ‘Table etiquette’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’ (78.7%), ‘Food waste and environment’ (72.3%), ‘Healthy snacks’ (55.7%), ‘Food sanitation’ (52.3%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (48.1%). Nutrition education experience was significantly different by gender. A total of 43.5% boys responded that they never learned about ‘basic food preperation’ (p < 0.01). They had learned ‘Nutrients for body’ and ‘Food waste and environment’ in school, ‘Healthy weight loss’, ‘Food culture of foreign countries’, ‘Food circulation’ on television, Most content (‘Table etiquette’, ‘Simple cooking’, ‘Food sanitati n’, ‘Eating behaviors for health’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’, ‘Healthy snacks’) was learned from parents. The practice after nutrition education was higher in ‘Table etiquette’ (2.14), ‘Eating fruits and vegetables’ (2.07) than others compared with education experience. The most reason of non-practice on nutrition information was ‘Troublesome’. In ‘Nutrients for body’, a boy answered ‘Difficult for practice’ 20.0%, a girl answered ‘Difficult to understand’ 32.6%, showing a significant difference between the gender groups (p < 0.001). They remembered the ‘Nutrients for body’ (49.6%), ‘Food sanitation’ (44.5%) because of ‘important content’,‘Basic food preparation’ (40.6%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (36.3%) because of ‘interesting content’, ‘Healthy weight loss’ (52.0%), ‘Eating behavior for health’ (44.5%) and ‘Healthy snacks’ (33.7%) because of ‘need for my health’.

      • 有機鹽素系 化合物(γ-BHC)을 投與한 마우스의 脂肪代射에 관한 硏究

        正常群, γ-BHC低用量 投與群, γ-BHC中等用量 投與群, 및 γ-BHC高用量 投與群에 對하여 Liver lipid classes의 定性分析, liver total lipid量 및 liver total cholesterol量을 測定하여 γ-BHC의 肝臟脂肪代謝에 미치는 영향을 檢討하였다. 測定方法은 Thin-layer chromatography와 吸光度測定法을 使用하였다. 그結果를 綜合하면 다음과 같다. 1) 正常群과 γ-BHC投與各群들의 liver lipid chasses는 同一하였다. 2) Liyer total lipid量은 正常群에 比해 γ-BHC 投與各群들에서 增加하였다. 3) Liyer total chalesterol量은 正常群에 比해 γ-BHC 投與各群들에서 增加하였다. The qualitative analysis of mouse liver lipid chasses was carried out by TLC. The total mouse liver lipid was determined by spectrophotometry. The total mouse liver cholesterol was determined by spectrophotometry. The above experimentes were carried out at non, low, medium and high concentration γ-BHC administrated mouses. The results were as follows: 1) The lipid classes of mouse liver were the same in normal and γ-BHC administrated mouses. 2) The total lipid of mouse liver was increased in γ-BHC administrated mouses. 3) The total cholesterol of mouse liver was increased in γ-BHC administrated mouses.

      • 태권도 옆차기 동작의 우수자와 비우수자간의 운동학적 비교 분석

        The purposes of this study were to analyze the kinematic variations between skilled and unskilled individuals and obtain the data needed to improve effective side kick skill in Teakwondo. We used a video analysis program to collect performance time, changes in movement of the center of the body, angle, and angular velocity. The results were as follows : 1) in unskilled cases, side kick motion occurred for more time than in unskilled cases, 2) to make a stronger kick, the skilled group increased the joint speed of the legs and unskilled athletes have smaller angles than experienced athletes. As a result, the total performance time of side kicks was shorter for skilled people and was consistent with other previous studies. The angle of the knee joint and hip joint had a great influence on the side kick.The range of motion of the hip and knee joints should be increased so that the desired hitting point can be quickly reached.

        대구지역 야생조류로부터 분리한 Salmonella속 균의 생물화학적 특성과 Plasmid Profile

        The present study was conducted to investigate the prevalence, biochemical properties and plasmid profiles of Salmonella organisms isolated from wild birds in Daegu area during the period from May, 1999 to August, 2000. Twenty strains of Salmonella were identified from 192 samples of heron feces and 86 samples of pigeon feces. Among Salmonella isolates, S. montevideo were the most frequent serotype (16 strains), 3 strains of them were S. typhimurium and the other one was untypable. The biochemical properties of 20 strains of Salmonella isolated were in accordance with the traditional characteristics of Salmonella spp. in the majority of biochemical test such as IMViC, carbohydrate fermentation and amino acid decarboxylation. The majority of isolates were highly susceptible to amikacin, ampicillin, amoxicillin, carbenicillin, cephalothin, ciprofloxacine, chloramphenicol, enrofloxacin, furazolidone, gentamicin, kanamycin, nalidixic acid, polymixin B and sulfamethoxazole, while they were moderately susceptible to streptomycin and tetracyclin. However, the majority of them were highly resistant to nitrofurantoin. In plasmid profile, 21.1 kilobase (Kb), 20 Kb and 13.2 Kb fractions were common to three S. tvphimurium and one untypable strains, and no fraction was shown in all strains of S. montevideo.

      • 다시마 푸코이단추출물과 지질대사의 연관성

        The effects of Laminaria japonica fucoidan extract (LJFE) on the biochemical parameters of lipid-related function were investigated in liver and serum of CCl_(4)-treated rats. LJFE of 100 mg/kg concentration was intraperitoneally administered into rats at dose of 1.5 ml/kg for 14 days. On the day 15, 3.3 ml/kg of CCl_(4) dissolved in olive oil (1:1) was injected 12 hours before anesthetization. We examined the lipid-related functions and enzyme activitys by measuring the levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum. The results showed that CCl_(4) treatment increased the high values of TG, LDH and ALP decreased the low values of TC but LJFE pretreatment decreased the high values of TG, LDH and ALP to the low values, increased the TC. It was suggested that LJFE can be used as the potential candidate for the lipid-metabolism natural supplement.

        Resveratrol Induces Apoptosis of KB Human Oral Cancer Cells

        Resveratrol (trans-3,4',5,-trihydroxystilbene), a phytoalexin present in grape skin and red wine, suppresses many types of cancers by regulating cell proliferation and apoptosis through a variety of mechanisms. However, the effects of resveratrol on oral cancer are not completely understood. Thus, effects of resveratrol on cell growth and apoptosis induction were examined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay, DNA fragmentation, immunoblotting, and determination of caspase activation in KB human oral cancer cells. Treatment with resveratrol induced inhibition of cell growth depending on the resveratrol treatment time and concentration in KB cells. Treatment with resveratrol induced DNA ladder formation in KB cells and promoted proteolytic cleavage of procaspase-3 and procaspase-7 with increases in the amount of cleaved caspases-3 and -7. Proteolytic processing of caspase-9 in KB cells was increased by resveratrol treatment. Activation of caspase-3/-7 was detected in living KB cells by fluorescence microscopy. These results suggest that the resveratrol can suppress cell growth and induce cell apoptosis in KB human oral cancer cells, and may have potential as an anti-cancer drug.

        FGF-2 inhibits TNF-α mediated apoptosis through up-regulation of Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL in ATDC5 cells

        FGF-2 is involved in cell survival, proliferation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis in a wide variety of cells. FRGRs, PI3K and MAP kinases are well known mediators of FGF signaling. Despite its known roles during many developmental processes, including osteogenesis, there are few known targets of FGF-2. In the present study, we identified Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL as two prominent targets involved in promoting cell survival. Pretreatment of ATDC5 cells with FGF-2 increased cell survival, while siRNAs specific for Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL compromised the anti- apoptotic effect of FGF-2, sensitized the cells to apoptosis triggered by TNF-α. Chemical inhibition of FGFR, NFkB, and PI3K activity by PD173074, pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate, and LY294002 respectively abrogated the FGF-2-mediated induction of Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL expression. Taken together, our data demonstrate that a subset of Bcl2 family proteins are the targets of FGF-2 signaling that promotes the survival of ATDC5 cells. [BMB reports 2012; 45(5): 287-292]

        문화소개란의 과제 분석

        The aim of this paper is to examine how the tasks for the learner studying seven kinds of textbook are handled to realize learner-centered teaching -learning activity and the most significant part is culture education under the current curriculum, especially the Korean-Japanese tasks for understanding different culture. Analysis target is the current seven kinds of high school text book 1. I investigated three domains ; first, cultural contents are covered independently, second, cultural contents are specified in learning objective, third, the content of the tasks and types are well organized. Analysis result shows that (1) there is a culture introduction column in the current seven kinds of high school text book apart from language function. (2) six kinds of textbooks consist of language function and culture except E textbook, which suggest “learning objective” with 84.5% on average. It reveals that such a result has greatly improved compared to Kim Se Ryun(2013)"s rate of goal suggestion that was 57% in 2007 revised textbook. (3) the single tasks and comparative tasks coexist and the rate of Korean-Japanese comparative tasks 67.1%, life culture area 63.8%, tradition and pop culture area 36.2%. Kim Se Ryun(2013)"s 2007 revised textbook leaned to life culture area 5.9% while the small deviation is in the current textbook. I also found that the way to suggest the tasks varied according to textbooks and every unit. (4) the way to suggest the tasks are ‘~let"s investigate’, ‘~let"s compare’, ‘~let’s research and present’, which contribute to develop learner"s independent and comprehensive judgement in the task-centered learning. This result seems to reflect learner-centered discussion rather than teacher-centered knowledge delivery. However, the lack of specified experiental activity is unfortunate. I think the most important part in the class is the textbook, which should be well organized in the domain of learning objective and the tasks under the current curriculum. In addition to, in the light of mutual of cultural education, the higher tasks should be established to attract learner"s motive and so many ways must be invented to meet learner"s needs. I expect that this research will be great helpful in developing future textbook.
