This study was performed to develop the proper equations related to meteorological variables for estimating the weekly moisture content losses of air-drying for 2.5㎝ and 5㎝ Korean red pine and pitch pine. The equations developed were as follows. For 2.5㎝ Korean red pine : MC LOSS=-12.660-1-0.529MC+0.170TEMP+1.444WIND--0.078PRECIP For 5㎝ Korean red pine : MC LOSS=-6.478+0.333MC+0.230TEMP+1.465WIND-0.078PRECIP-0.044RH For 2.5㎝ pitch pine : MC LOSS=-30.421+0.511MC+0.115TEMP-0.199PPECIP+0.226RH+-2.853WIND For 5㎝ pitch pine : MC LOSS=-8.150+0.302MC+0.457TEMP+2.220WIND-0.123PRECIP-0.061RH Using these equations and historical meteorological data, air-drying calendars were developed. By the use of the air-drying calendars, industrial air-dying managers have a too to assist in :answering the question of when to move air-dried lumber into the kiln far a cost-efficient operation.

본 논문에서는 고속 이동 컨테이너 화물을 효율적으로 검색하기 위한 스테레오 방사선 영상 기반 3차원 형상화 연구에 관하여 기술하였다. 스테레오 방사선 영상은 X-선 발생장치, 선형 방사선 센서 그리고 이동 스테이지로 구성한 일련의 장치로부터 실물을 대상으로 획득하였다. 두 개의 방사선 센서는 검색 대상체의 정류된 X-선 영상을 얻도록 설계 및 제작되었다. 스테레오 X-선 영상을 이용하여 두 영상간의 대응점을 찾는 매칭 알고리즘을 구현하고, 대상체의 실제 3차원 형상을 복원과정을 연구하였다. 대상체는 컨테이너 화물을 모사하기 위해 평형 철재 상자 내부에 넣은 다음 시험하였다. 3가지 대상체에 대해 스캔시험과 3차원 복원과정을 차례로 진행하였으며, 방사선 영상의 정보부족으로 인한 한계를 극복하기 위해 에지정보를 기반으로한 영상복원을 시도하였다. 시험결과는 제안한 기술이 컨테이너 화물 검색에서 보다 효율적인 정보를 제공할 수 있음을 확인시켜 주었다. This paper presents a 3-D visualization technique using stereo radioactive images to provide efficient inspection of fast moving cargo objects. The proposed technique can be used for such objects which CT or MRI cannot inspect due to restricted scan environment. Stereo radioactive images are acquired from a specially designed equipment which consists of a X-ray source, linear radioactive sensors, and a moving stage. Two radioactive sensors are installed so that rectified stereo X-ray images of objects are acquired. Using the stereo X-ray images, we run a matching algorithm to find the correspondences between the images and reconstruct 3-D shapes of real objects. The objects are put in a parallelepiped box to simulate cargo inspection. Three real objects are tested and reconstructed. Due to the inherent ambiguity in the stereo X-ray images, we reconstruct 3-D shapes of the edges of the objects. The experimental results show the proposed technique can provide efficient visualization for cargo inspection.

The application of nutrients and pesticides to agricultural lands has been reported to contribute to groundwater contamination, which can be explained by preferential flow in lieu of convective-dispersive flow. An one-dimensional numerical model depicting preferential water and solute movement was modified to describe multi-layer flows. The model is based on a piecewise linear conductivity function. By combining conservation of mass and Darcy's law and using the method of characteristics a solution is obtained for water flow in which water moves at distinct velocities in different flow regions instead of an average velocity for the whole profile. The model allows transfer ofqr solutes between pore groups. The transfer is characterized by assuming mixing coefficients. The model was applied to undisturbed soil columns and an experiment site with structured sandy clay loam soil. Chloride, bromide, and 2, 4-D were used as tracers. Simulated solutes concentrations were in good agreement with the soil column data and field data in which preferential flow of solute is significant. The proposed model is capable of describing preferential solute transport under laboratory and field conditions.
