Experiments were performed to investigate hypoxia tolerance with body size of red seabream (Pagrus major) at 24℃. The rate of oxygen consumption was measured at an interval of 10 min using automated intermittent-flow respirometry. The weight-specific standard metabolic rate (SMR, mg O<sub>2</sub> kg<sup>-1</sup>hr<sup>-1</sup>) and critical oxygen saturation (S<sub>crit</sub>, % air saturation) of the fish were measured under normoxic condition and progressive hypoxia with 0.6-786 g of fish weight (W), respectively. SMR typically decreased with increasing body weight based on SMR=351.59·W<sup>-0.195</sup> (r<sup>2</sup>=0.934). S<sub>crit</sub> was higher in larger fish than those of smaller fish in the range of 17.3-24.4%. The result of this study suggests that the smaller seabream can withstand in hypoxic waters better than the larger ones.

This experiment investigated changes in metabolic rate (MO2), critical oxygen saturation (Scrit), and blood chemistry of olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus exposed to progressive hypoxia and returned to normoxic water at 20°C. The normoxic standard metabolic rate (SMR) and routine metabolic rate (RMR) were 69.5-83.9 and 70.2-156.4 mg O2 kg-1h-1, respectively based on fish weight. Scrit was 31.0% dissolved oxygen (DO) at 20°C. After returning the fish to 70% DO following exposure to hypoxia (20% DO), MO2 increased two-fold compared to the normoxic SMR and then decreased into the range of the RMR with time. Blood PO2 and plasma lactate decreased significantly after exposure to hypoxia (20% DO) and then increased as ambient oxygen saturation decreased. Cortisol levels increased as ambient oxygen saturation decreased, but the levels decreased rapidly in the range of the normoxic control when the fish were returned to ambient water with 70% DO. Plasma glucose levels increased when the fish were returned to normoxic water after exposure to a progressively more hypoxic condition.

Objectives : This study aimed to present the normative information of the Mini-Mental State Examination-Dementia Screening (MMSE-DS) and its short form (SMMSE-DS) in the Korean elderly. Methods : The MMSE-DS was administered in a standardized manner to 1,008 healthy volunteers aged 60 years or over recruited from participants in the Korean Longitudinal Study on Health and Aging or from volunteers in the National Dementia Screening and Registry Program. The SMMSE-DS was consisted of 13 items from the MMSE-DS based on the diagnostic accuracy of individual items for dementia. Results : Age and educational level were found to have significant effect on the SMMSE-DS score, but sex was not. Based on this result, overlapping age normative table (60 to 74, 70 to 84, and 75 to 90 years of age) with 4 educational strata (0 to 3 years, 4 to 6 years, 7 to 12 years and 13 years and more) was developed for the SMMSE-DS. For resulting 12 normative units, 5 percentile, lower quartile, median, upper quartile, mean, standard deviation and -1.5standard deviation were calculated. Conclusion : The normative data from this study can be widely used as reference values to objectively interpret the MMSE-DS and SMMSE-DS scores of the Korean elderly.

Since the 2000s, weddings have become smaller and smaller, like simple small weddings or self-wedding, without formality and vanity. Thus, the trend change in the domestic marriage culture and the wedding style favored by women is evolving with the changes of the times. In 2015, Won Bin-Lee Na-young, Bae Yong-joon and Park Soo-jins wedding was promoted to the public by choosing a small wedding ceremony to save money and spend meaningful time. A small wedding has been a concern among couples preparing for the wedding since 2016. Ten fashion and beauty experts and wedding experts discussed the brides appearance in the Wedding 12 magazine into six types. It was classified into natural, romantic, elegant, kinship, masculine and enchanting styles. The study analyzed wedding makeup by exploring changes in wedding styling according to wedding trends around 2016, when small weddings were popular among brides. The analysis showed that the image of preferred brides varied with changes in the year and season, and this study was significant because it was aimed at presenting meaningful practical data on how wedding make-up was expressed in total styling.
망막색소변성환자에서 외상 후 발생한 장액망막박리를 동반하는 지연 발현 푸르처망막병증 1예

적: 외상 이후 발생한 시력저하로 의뢰된 망막색소변성환자에게서 장액망막박리를 동반하는 푸르처망막병증 1예를 경험하였기에 이를 보고하고자 한다 증례요약: 36세 남자 환자가 교통사고로 흉부에 외상을 입은 이후 발생한 양안 시력저하를 주소로 진료 의뢰되었다. 과거력상 망막색 소병증으로 개인 안과에서 경과관찰 중이었다. 교정시력은 우안 0.3, 좌안 0.6이었다. 전안부 검사상 특이소견은 없었다. 안저검사에서 양안에서 특징적인 망막색소변성 소견과 함께 우안 황반부에 경계가 비교적 분명하고 투명한 장액성 융기로 의심되는 병변이 있었고 시신경 주변으로 삼출물로 의심되는 소견이 관찰되었다. 빛간섭단층촬영에서 우안 장액 망막박리소견이 있었고, 형광안저혈관조영 에서 망막색소변성의 특징적인 소견을 볼 수 있었다. 외상 7일째 내원 시 우안 안저검사상 면화반 소견은 더 증가하고 현저해졌으며 망막출혈소견도 관찰되었다. 환자의 병력과 특징적인 안저소견을 바탕으로 푸르처망막병증으로 진단하였다. 환자는 1개월 뒤 우안 장액 망막박리소견은 호전되었지만 우안 시력저하와 우안 전시야맹 소견이 남았다. 결론: 망막색소변성증 환자에게 푸르처망막병증이 동반된 경우는 매우 드문 경우이며, 망막하액을 동반하고 전형적인 임상소견이 지연 발현된 점은 일반적인 푸르처망막병증의 임상양상과는 다르기에 본 증례를 보고하고자 한다. Purpose: To report a case of Purtscher’s retinopathy accompanied by serous retinal detachment in a patient with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) who was referred to us for treatment of post-traumatic visual discomfort. Case summary: A 36-year-old man with history of RP was referred to us with the chief complaint of bilateral visual discomfort after chest injury from a traffic accident. His corrected visual acuity was 0.3 and 0.6 in the right and left eyes, respectively. Fundus examination revealed findings characteristic of RP in both eyes, along with a lesion in the right eye, which was suspected to be a serous elevation of the macula, as well as suspected exudates near the optic nerves. Optical coherence tomography indicated serous retinal detachment in the right eye, and fluorescein angiography findings were characteristic of RP. Seven days later, the amount of cotton-wool exudate in the right eye had increased and was more distinct than at the initial examination, and retinal hemorrhage was observed. Based on the medical history and specific fundus findings, the patient was diagnosed with Purtscher’s retinopathy. One month later, the serous retinal detachment in the right eye had improved, but the vision loss and total anopsia in the right eye persisted. Conclusions: The concomitant occurrence of RP and Purtscher’s retinopathy is very rare. Moreover, the presence of accompanying serous retinal detachment and delayed onset of typical clinical symptoms are not present in typical Purtscher’s retinopathy. 자기장 처리된 물은 물을 자기장에 노출시키는 처리 과정을 의미한다. 이 처리 과정이 콘크리트 강도와 내구성을 개선할 수 있다는 다양한 연구결과가 발표되었다. 자기장 처리 여부에 따라 콘크리트 시편을 제작하고, 강도와 내구성을 평가하기 위해 다양한 실험을 수행한 결과, 자기장 처리된 물이 콘크리트 강도와 내구성에 큰 영향을 미침을 확인할 수 있다. 강도면에서 자기장 처리된 물로 제작된 콘크리트 시편은 비처리된 시편에 비해 압축 강도가 크게 향상되며, 높은 인장 강도와 휨 강도를 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 자기장에 의해 물 분자가 정렬되어 보다 밀도 높고 균일한 콘크리트 구조를 형성하게 되기 때문으로 조사되었다. 내구성 면에서, 자기장 처리된 시편은 동결-해동 주기에 대한 저항력, 흡수력, 염화 이온 침투에 대한 저항력이 크게 향상되며, 이는 자기장 처리가 물과 해로운 이온의 침투를 감소시킴으로서 콘크리트 내구성을 개선시키는 것으로 조사되었다.
