Vol.3 No.-
This article describes rice research in Korea for the purpose of collecting data, objects, and stories for a rice exhibition in a Southern California museum. I provide insight into why the UCLA Fowler Museum would go through a lengthy process of conducting original research on Asian rice cultures (1998-2003). I discuss my experiences from a Western perspective as someone who gradually immerses into thinking and feeling about food through rice from an Asian perspective. Much commentary on my rite-de-passage is added by settings and stories from Korean domestic and transnational lives with rice. While the Fowler exhibition was designed to appear as an artistic celebration of Asian rice cultures, it also helped to interpret nontransparent disconnects with food that Western societies developed in recent decades. Research findings and a brilliant exhibition including various categories of objects and narratives effectively communicated to visitors that there is meaning and purpose in maintaining a close physical, spiritual, and nutritional relationship with one`s food.
1994 Journal of Forest Science Vol.10 No.-
즉, Cheiloclinium cognatum A.C. Smith, Piptadenia communis Benth., Faramea cyanea M. Arg., Xylopia sericea St. Hil., Copaifera lansdorfii Desf., Cupania vernalis Camb., Matayba guianensis Aublet, Virola sebifera Aublet, Ocotea densiflora Meissn 그리고 Didimopanax morototoni (Aublet) Dcne et P1. A survey of the natural regeneration of the gallery forest at the Sao Bartolomeu river, Federal District - Brazil it was carry out. Plots of 100 ㎡ let established the composition of the trees succession of one hectare. 4262 plants distributed in four classes according to the height were found. The phytosociological value of the classes was respectively 3,3 2,4 2,0 2,3 and through of them it was possible to identify the phytosociological position of the species. The results of the calculations of the relative index of the natural regeneration and value of importance shows that the most important species are Cheiloclinium cognatum A.C. Smith, Piptadenia communis Benth., Faramea cyanea M. Arg., Xylopia sericea St. Hil.,Copeifera lansdorfii Desf., Cupania vernalis Camb., Matayba guianensis Aublet, Virola sebifera Aublet, Ocotea densiflora Meissn and Didimopanax morototoni (Aublet) Dcne et P1.
