        목향과 향부자 추출물이 흰쥐의 만성 스트레스에 미치는 실험적 효과

        This study aimed to investigate the anti-stress function of Aucklandiae Radix (AR) and Cyperi Rhizoma (CR). The essential oils used in the experiment were extracted from AR and CR using Steam Distillation Extraction and Super critical CO2 extraction. To observe the effects of sample administration, we measured feed intake, leukocytes, red blood cells, hemoglobin, platelets, serum serotonin content, immobility time, climbing time, and swimming time in mice subjected to chronic restraint stress as behavioral changes. The average body weight of all experimental groups increased than the average body weight of the control group. The immobility and climbing times of experimental groups A and B administered with supercritical extraction samples were shorter than those of the other experimental groups and the control group, and the swimming time was longer. The serotonin content in the blood of all experimental groups decreased compared to the normal group, and the serotonin content of the control group was increased. The authors suggest that Korean herbal medicines AR and CR may be utilized as anti-stress flavoring agents based on the above results.

        황칠·미강 발효 추출물이 tyrosinase 활성 저해 및 항산화에 미치는 효과

        In this study, we used the mixture made from the Rice bran 45 ㎏, Dendropanax 5 ㎏, the sugar of the 10% of the total weight, and the enzyme of the 0.1% of the total weight. After the mixture were fermented for 90 days under 20 ℃, we measured the cell viability and the inhibition rate of the melanin biosynthesis, the activity of tyrosinase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in malignant melanoma, B16F10 cells, in order to survey the whitening effect and the mechanism of the effects on the sample. As a result, the samples significantly suppressed the cell viability of B16F10 in more than 500 ㎍/㎖ and significantly inhibited the generation of melanin induced by α-MSH in more than 1,000 ㎍/㎖. Sample decreased the activity of tyrosinase while increased the activity of SOD in dose dependent manner. Therefore, we considered that the fermentation extract made from a Rice bran and Dendropanax will be able to produce high value-added products, if used as a commercial.

        지모 추출물의 피부 미백 및 항산화 효과 연구

        The objective of this study is to investigate the skin whitening and antioxidant effects of the Anemarrhenae Rhizoma extract (ARE). Following the previously studied method, we examined the inhibitory effects of melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity by using B16F10 cells. First, we measured the Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, nitrite scavenging activity, and superoxide dismutase-like activity to verifying antioxidant efficacy according to skin whitening. In addition, we confirmed the skin whitening efficacy of ARE by measuring gene expression associated with a skin whitening by the Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method in B16F10 cells. In this study, we confirmed that ARE has skin whitening and antioxidant effects at high concentrations. In particular, ARE at a concentration of 500 ㎍/ml inhibited the expression of Tyrosinase, TRP-2 (tyrosinase-related protein), and MITF (microphthalmia transcription factor) genes better than Arbutin. In conclusion, our results confirmed that ARE has the potential for development as a skin whitening efficacy substance.

        사상체질(四象體質) 부변론(不變論)에 대(對)한 이론적(理論的) 검토(檢討)

        It is very important problem that exactly distinguish constitution, in Sasang constitutional Medicine. But, it is careless that discuss the propriety of 'Sasang constitution unchangeability theory(四象體質 不變論)'. The foundation of Sasang constitution unchangeability theory is the sentence in DongUi SuSae BoWon Sa-dan theory(東醫壽世保元 四端論) : "The Organ system of Taeyang(太陽), Taeum(太陰), Soyang (少陽) and Soeum(少陰) is the variation of YinYang(陰陽), is firm nature and is unnecessary agreement. (太少陰陽之臟局 陰陽之變化也 天稟之已定 固無可論)". But, the foundation of Sasang constitution unchangeability theory contradict the theory that Organ system(臟腑) is made by deviation of emotions(joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure :喜怒哀樂) or temperament(性情). Because these emotions is revealed after birth(後天), the deviation of Organs system made by deviation of emotions is not innate, is acquired after birth. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the opinion that Sasang constitution is variable after birth. The conclusion of our study is that Sasang constitution can be variable after birth.

        四象體質 不變論에 對한 理論的 檢討

        It is very important problem that exactly distinguish constitution, in Sasang constitutional Medicine. But, it is careless that discuss the propriety of ‘Sasang constitution unchangeability theory(四象體質 不變論)’.         五色의 照射가 SQUID 심자도와 EAV 전기지수에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study is to make a proof of whether Five-Color illuminating has influence on physiological signals and what is the relationship between Five-Color illuminating and The five elements by using 2-Channel DROS SQUID(Magnetocardiogram) and EAV(Electronic Index). Physical signals(magnetocardiogram and electronic index) were changed by Color illumination. Following is relation between Five-Color illumination and The five elements. Among 16 cases that were intended to increase index value of relevant phase by illuminating up color of relevant phase, there 15 cases that were accorded with the rule of promoting and counteracting relation of The five elements order(93.75%). And the reduction of five phase deviation was observed in 13(81.25%). Among 7 cases that were intended to decrease index value of relevant phase by lighting up color of relevant phase, there 6 cases that were accorded with the rule of promoting and counteracting relation of The five elements order(85.71%). And the reduction of five phase deviation was observed in 3(42.85%), Among 5 cases that were intended to decrease index value of relevant phase by lighting up color of counteracting phase, there 5 cases that were accorded with the rule of promoting and counteracting relation of The five elements order(100%). And the reduction of five phase deviation was observed in 3(60%). It could be assigned Five color to The five elements. And Color illumination increased electric index.         비자의 항균 및 알레르기성 접촉 피부염 개선 작용 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Torreyae semen extract against antimicrobial and allergic contact dermatitis to explore its utility as a herbal resource. To this end, the antibacterial effects of Torreyae Semend extracted with hot water and ethanol (30%, 60%, 90%) were investigated using Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Propionibacterium acnes. And observed the anti-atopic dermatitis efficacy with a mouse model that allergic contact dermatitis induced by DNCB. Experimental results showed that the antibacterial activity against S. epidermidis and P. aeruginosa was significantly higher in the hot water extract of Torreyae Semen. We observed that the extracts of 30% ethanol and hot water of Torreyae Semen inhibited growth in a concentration-dependent manner in P. acnes & S. epidermidis. We observed that the administration of hot water extracts and 30% ethanol extract of Torreyae Semen significantly reduce the thickness of ear & back and gross skin condition compared to the control group in the mice with allergic contact dermatitis. As a result of H & E histological staining, it was observed that the Torreyae Semen extraction group had markedly reduced epidermis and skin thickness, granules, and keratinization compared to the control group. The groups administrated with Torreyae Semen hot water extracts had decreased TNF-α and IL-10 contents compared with the control group. As a result, Torreyae Semen may be used as a useful herbal resource because it has a certain level of antibacterial and anti-atopic effects.

        대나무 숯 제조과정에서 나오는 竹酢液과 五加皮가 Streptozotocin으로 유발된 당뇨 생쥐에 미치는 영향(Ⅲ)

        This study was carried out to understand the effects of refined Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen D and Acanthopanax chiisanensis on blood sugar of the diabetic mice induced with Streptozotocin(STZ). The Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen extracted from bamboo charcoal manufacturing process was filtered and refined. The effects of Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen were observed in terms of blood sugar. The results are as follows ; The amount of glucose was significantly decreased (P < 0.05) in the Bambusae Caulis in Liquamen-treated group compared with the control. The amount of glucose was significantly decreased (P < 0.05) in the Acanthopanax chiisanensis-treated group compared with the control. It was found that Acanthopanax chiisanensis can be used as the material of anti-Diabetes functional beverage. It was found that Acanthopanax chiisanensis can be used as the material of anti-Diabetes functional beverage.

        외관(外關)(TE5),협계(俠谿)(GB43) 자침이 SQUID로 측정한 뇌 청각영역의 뇌자도(腦磁圖) 변화에 미치는 영향

        Objectives and Methods: Using the 2-channel DROS SQUID (Korea Research Institute of Standards of Science, 1999), the present study was carried out to record changes elicited in the auditory cortex by acupuncture stimulus on right TE5 (Waiguan) and GB43 (Xiaxi). Needle-retention stimulation of TE5 and GB43 were done for acquiring the brain activities changed by acupuncture. Acupoint TE5 and GB43 is known to be effective for the treatment of ear-related disease, such as deafness and tinnitus, and to be suspected to be related to the auditory cortex. Auditory evoked magnetic fields were recorded from the Left hemisphere of five subjects, in response to contralateral ear stimulation by irregularly spaced 170 msec Long 1kHz tone busts (Korea Research Institute of Standards of Science) Results and Conclusions: The result as follows. The Latency and amplitude of SQUID MEG responses at the human auditory cortex changed by needle-retention condition on TE5 were 4msec and 9.2 fT, respectively, which were slower and smaller than those of no-acupuncture condition. The Latency and amplitude of SQUID MEG responses at the human auditory cortex changed by needle-retention condition on GB43 were 7.2 msec and 1.6 fT, respectively, which were slower and Larger than those of no-acupuncture condition. The Latency of SQUID MEG responses at the human auditory cortex changed by needle-retention condition on GB43 condition was slower than that of TE5 acupuncture condition.
