LDH(Layered double hydroxide) 물질을 제조하고 이를 이용하여 비소를 흡착시키는 실험을 수행하였다. TEM을 이용하여 제조한 LDH 물질의 형상을 살펴본 결과 열처리를 거친 시료는 나노크기의 결정화된 구조를 가지고 있고 열처리를 거치지 않은 시료는 아직 결정화가 완전히 이루어지지 않았으며 크기도 마이크로 범위에서 나타났다. X선 회절분석 결과를 보면 이 같은 결과가 뚜렷이 나타났으며, 열처리를 거친 경우는 뚜렷한 결정화를 보이고 있었다. N₂ 흡착 및 탈착 결과를 통해 LDH가 mesoporous한 공극 형태를 가지고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 비표면적은 열처리를 거친 시료가 열처리를 거치지 않은 시료보다 2배 이상 크게 나타났다. 흡착 등온 실험 결과에서도 두 시료는 비슷한 흡착량을 보이며 기존 철산화물에 못지않은 흡착능을 나타내고 있다. 금번에 합성한 MgㆍFe-LDH 물질을 이용하여 토양 및 지하수의 비소 제거 공정에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다. Layered double hydroxide is synthesized and used in the arsenate adsorption experiments. The shapes of two materials analyzed by TEM showed that unheated material is amorphous in shape, micro-sized while heat treated material showed more crystallized in shape and nano-sized. X-ray diffraction showed this result more obvious. N₂ adsorption-desorption results showed that the materials are mesoporous and the specific surface area of the heated material is more than two times larger than the unheated material. Adsorption of As(V) is expected to be more in the heated material than the unheated material. Kinetic test of arsenate adsorption showed very fast reaction. The reactivity of Fe with As(V) might be the main factor for this result. The reaction kinetic of the heated and the unheated materials were similar and even the adsorption isotherms showed similar results for both materials. Both materials are found to be useful in remediation of soil and groundwater polluted by waste mine tailings consist of high concentration of As(V).

The movement trend of human's eyes can be used in diagnosing the postural balancing systems. In this paper, a new system which acquired eye movement signals using CCD camera was proposed. It consisted of two parts, image signal acquisition and image processing & the eye movement signal aquisition part. In image signal acquisition part, head was turned by rotative stimulus of stepping motor and movement of eyes was captured wearing goggle with CCD camera in front of the left eye when stimulus was presented. And then the images of eye were saved frame by frame in hard disk of PC using the frame grabber DT-2853 and digital time base corrector FA-310. And eye movement signal was acquired by image processing that found the pupil and it's center and by calculating the eye's moving distance in the images. And the signals were analyzed for extracting the feature. In this experiment, 4 normal subjects were participated. And each subject's eye movement signal was compared with stimulus and analyzed in the autocorrelation function, frequency analysis. And the validity of this eye movement signal was proved by analysing and extracting the common feature from the signals.
