Effect of a Flavon Extracted from Artemisia absinthium onCollagen Induced Arthritis in Mice

Purpose:In this study, a possible suppressive effect of a flavon extracted from Artemisia absinthium on a mouse collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) model was investigated. Methods:DBA/1 mice were injected intradermally with emulsified chicken type II collagen. Three weeks after immunization, a flavon was introduced p.o. everyday. Clinical incidences of arthritis and arthritis index were measured. Measurement of anti-collagen antibodies and a stimulation index of the splenocytes of the mice were measured. IL-10 and TNF-α in the supernatants of the mice sera were measured by ELISA. mRNA expression for IL-10 and TNF-α in the splenocytes were tested. Results:Flavon extracted from Artemisia absinthium appears to be an effective suppressor of CIA in mice. The serum anti-collagen antibody level and stimulation index of the cultured splenocytes showed no significant differences among the three experimental groups. Also serum IL-10 and TNF-α levels did not show any significant differences among the three experimental groups. An increased expression of mRNA for IL-10 was observed in the splenocytes treated with flavon. Conclusion:With these results, flavon extracted from Artemisia absinthium appears to have a suppressive effect of CIA. The mechanism of the suppressive effect of flavon extracted from Artemisia absinthium may be from a stimulation of IL-10 production. ELISA를 이용하여 IL-10과 TNF-α의 농도를 측정하였다. 비장세포에서의 IL-10과 TNF-α의 mRNA 표현을 조사하였다.결 과 : 애엽에서 추출한 flavon은 마우스의 CIA에 대한 억제 효과를 지닌다. 실험군간의 혈청내 항콜라겐항체 농도와 배양된 비장세포에서의 자극지수에는 통계적으로 의미있는 차이는 없었다. 뿐만 아니라 세 실험군간의 혈청 IL-10과 TNF-α 농도의 통계적으로 의미있는 차이도 관찰되지 않았다. Flavon을 투여한 마우스의 비장세포에서 IL-10의 mRNA 표현이 증가되어 있음이 관찰되었다.

실외 골프연습장 재이용요인 중요도 우선순위분석

[목적] 실외 골프연습장 재이용요인의 중요도와 상대적 우선순위를 일반인집단과 전문가집단을 비교분석하여 실외 골프연습장의 효율적이고 합리적인 경영전략을 위한 자료 제공을 하는데 목적이 있다. [방법] 결과 도출을 위해 서 울, 경기 지역에 위치한 실외골프연습장 이용객을 대상으로 일반인 집단 105명과 전문가 집단 27명을 대상으로 실시 하였으며, 자료처리는 AHP솔루션 Expert Choice 2000을 사용하여 상대적 중요도의 우선순위를 분석하였다. [결과] 일반인 집단의 경우 상위단계인 외적서비스 요인의 중요도가 가장 높게 나타났고, 전문가 집단의 경우 상위단계인 내적서비스 요인의 중요도가 가장 높게 나타났다. [결론] 일반인 집단의 경우 상위단계인 외적서비스 요인의 중요도 가 가장 높게 나타났고, 전문가 집단의 경우 상위단계인 내적서비스 요인의 중요도가 가장 높게 나타났다. 서비스 하 위요인들의 우선순위 또한 다른 결과가 도출되었다. [Purpose] The study compared and analyzed priority of service quality variables in general consumers and in management expert group in order to develop efficient driving range management strategy. [Method] The research subjects were outdoor driving range users in the capital area of Seoul. Among them, 105 persons were randomly allocated in to the general group and the expert group with 27 persons, data processing was made by expert choice 2000, an AHP solution to analyze. [Result] For the general group, the external service factor as upper level was the highest. And for the expert group, internal service factor had the highest significance as the upper level. For the general group, among external services factors affecting golf exercise, the main purpose of using driving range, facility service factor, the medium level was high. [Conclusion] To the contrary, for the expert group, among internal service factors, the medium level `cost service factor' was high. It means intangible service quality plays a role in enhancing satisfaction of using driving range.

Tuberculosis is a disease with high morbidity and mortality in children worldwide. Despite the decrease in the incidence of tuberculosis in Korea, more than 30,000 new patients are diagnosed each year. Active tuberculosis is less frequent in children compared to adults but the risk of miliary tuberculosis and CNS tuberculosis is much higher. The diagnosis of tuberculosis in children and adolescents is difficult due to the nonspecific symptoms upon presentation. Diagnostic work up is based on the confirmation of tuberculosis infection by tuberculin skin test, abnormal radiologic findings, and contact with an adult with active tuberculosis. Anti-tuberculosis medications are prescribed according to the drug susceptibility of the index patient. Latent tuberculosis infection plays an important role in adult tuberculosis by reactivation. Thus, it is critical to accurately diagnose latent tuberculosis in children to prevent reactivation in adulthood. Korean guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in children and adolescents provide evidence based recommendations in the optimal diagnosis and treatment for active and latent tuberculosis in children and adolescents based on the current Korean situation.

Salicylic Acid Reduces OmpF Expression, Rendering Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium More Resistant to Cephalosporin Antibiotics

Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium is one of the most important bacterial pathogenscausing diarrhea. The resistance of S. typhimurium to antimicrobial agents, whichhas recently been isolated from patients, is causing serious problems. We investigatedthe effects of salicylic acid (Sal) and acetyl salicylate (AcSal) on the susceptibility ofS. typhimurium to cephalosporin antibiotics, which are known to increase resistanceto cephalosporin and quinolone antibiotics. The MIC of cephalosporin antibiotics washigher than that of the media without Sal. The rate of accumulation of ethidium bromide(EtBr) in the bacteria by the outer membrane protein (Omp) was not different fromthat of the bacteria cultured in the medium containing Sal. However, Carbonyl cyanide-m-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP), an inhibitor of bacterial efflux pumps, significantlyreduced the rate of accumulation of EtBr in bacteria cultured on Sal containingmedium. In the medium containing CCCP, the MIC of the antimicrobial agent tendedto decrease as compared with the control. In addition, the MIC of the bacteria treatedwith CCCP and Sal was higher than that of the antimicrobial agent against the CCCPtreated experimental bacteria. These results suggest that Sal decreases the expressionof OmpF in the Omp of S. typhimurium and reduces the permeability of cephalosporinantibiotics to bacteria, which may induce tolerance to cephalosporin antibiotics.

To construct a unit on one genre, it is necessary to explore the genre-based approach beyond the process-centered approach. In this study, propositional knowledge and procedural knowledge were considered as genre knowledge in textbooks. From the perspective of a genre-based approach, I analyzed units of expository texts reading and writing on the 2015 revised middle school Korean textbooks. Based on these discussions, the principles of the integrated unit composition of expository texts reading and writing on the middle school Korean textbook were suggested. The principles are 'The sub-units are organized by area, but the reading unit is presented before the writing unit.', 'Genre knowledge presents propositional knowledge and procedural knowledge, but is presented at the beginning of each sub-unit.', 'Provide multiple explanatory texts in the reading unit', 'In the reading unit, activities to learn the structure of text are presented, and in the writing unit, activities to write using the text structure are presented.'. Finally, according to these principles, a unit structure system was presented.
