Gastric Extramedullary Plasmacytoma in a Dog
채웅주,권도형,권진아,김재훈,정주현 한국임상수의학회 2012 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.29 No.4
An eight-year-old, spayed female Shih-tzu, weighing 3.2 kg with a history of chronic intermittent vomiting and unknown pain for four months was referred. In ultrasonography, a small round hypoechoic mass was identified in the gastric wall. Gastric endoscopy showed a solitary raised mass with smooth surface in the pyloric antrum. Surgical resection was performed. Histopathologic findings with immunohistochemical studies showed extramedullary plasmacytoma in the gastric submucosal and muscle wall layer. The patient recovered normally without any complications. The tumor has not been re-occurred after surgical removal, to date.
Ileocecocolic and Colocolic Intussusception in a Young Jindo
정주현,채웅주,권도형,장진화,오선경,윤정희,최민철 한국임상수의학회 2008 한국임상수의학회지 Vol.25 No.6
An eight-month-old, intact female Jindo, weighing 9 kg with a one-day history of acute bloody diarrhea was referred. Plain abdominal radiographic findings included evidence of a soft tissue tubular mass within the dilated colon. In ultrasonographs, a target-like mass was identified with multiple hyperechoic and hypoechoic parallel wall layers. A barium enema showed a large radiolucent filling defect within the colon and a completely occlusive lumen. On the basis of these images, ileocecocolic and colocolic intussusception was diagnosed. Surgical manual reduction, resection and anastomosis were performed. The patient recovered normally without any complications or recurrence.

Two dogs were referred with the clinical signs of depression and constipation, respectively. One dog withdepression had hypoglycemia on biochemistry. On survey abdominal radiographs, a soft tissue density round masswith calcified spots was identified cranial to the urinary bladder. On ultrasonographs, a solitary oval heterogeneouscomplex-echoic mass with well-defined margin was found. On surgery, the mass was pedunculated and originated fromthe colonic wall. The resected mass was confirmed as colonic leiomyoma. The other dog with constipation had normalCBC and biochemistry values. On survey abdominal radiographs, there was a soft tissue density round mass dorsalto the descending colon and rectum. The descending colon was displaced ventrally and narrowed by the mass. Onultrasonographs, a well-defined round heteroechoic mass compressed the colon. The mass was also pedunculated andoriginated from the colonic wall on surgery and confirmed as colonic leiomyoma. Two dogs recovered without anyclinical signs after surgery and showed permanent resolution of the clinical signs, respectively.
개에서 단독으로 발생한 급성 비장 염전과 만성 비장 염전의 비교

An intact male, 3-year old, Sapsari, weighing 29 kg with a history of respiratory distress, anorexia, abdominal distension, and depression for 1 day was referred. Radiographic findings included a C-shaped soft tissue mass in the mid-abdominal cavity and loss of serosal detail. Ultrasonographs showed splenomegaly with hypoechoic coarse parenchyma, loss of venous flow in the dilated splenic veins, and thrombi. Based on image findings, acute isolated splenic torsion was diagnosed. Splenectomy and prophylactic gastropexy was performed. Another case was a spayed female, 8-year old, Shih-tzu, weighing 3.7 kg with a history of intermittent abdominal pain and a palpable abdominal mass for 1 year. Radiographic findings showed splenomegaly characterized by a soft tissue round mass. Ultrasonographs revealed displaced splenic hilum and absence of venous flow in the dilated splenic vein. Chronic isolated splenic torsion was diagnosed and also splenectomy and gastropexy was performed. Two dogs were recovered normally after surgery without any complications. Acute form of isolated splenic torsion showed acute systemic clinical signs, severe C-shaped splenomegaly on radiographs, and loss of all of splenic venous flow, perivenous hyperechoic triangle sign, and thrombi on ultrasonographs. Chronic form of isolated splenic torsion showed chronic obscure clinical signs, moderate splenomegaly on radiographs, and partial loss of splenic venous flow on ultrasonographs.

ia, shivering, lethargy, hypersalivation, and seizure.Patients were suspected for portosystemic shunts on the basis of clinical signs, increased hepatic serum profiles onthe blood test, microhepatica on plain abdominal radiographs, and an abnormally dilated and tortuous vessel onabdominal ultrasonographs. To diagnose PSS and to further evaluate type, shape, and location of shunt and hepaticvasculatures, the computed tomography (CT) angiography for portal and systemic circulation was performed. The shape, location and pathway of extrahepatic single shunt were confirmed in two dogs. Dual phases (the arterial phase andthe venous phase) CT angiography and reformatted and three-dimensional images offered good understanding of PSand planning surgical treatment.

A castrated male, 4-year old, Dachshund weighing 5.3 kg with an acute history of anorexia, vomiting, severe depression, and hypothermia for 1 day was referred. Severe leukopenia, mild increased hepatic enzymes, and mild imbalanced electrolyte were found on laboratory tests. There are no remarkable findings on abdominal radiographs. Ultrasonography showed multifocal heterogeneous and hypoechoic round regions in the liver. Ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration and drainage were performed and hepatic abscess was diagnosed. The patient was recovered normally without any complications through aggressive medical treatments from the result of culture and sensitivity test.

An intact female, 2 month old, domestic short hair cat, weighing 0.82 kg with a history of respiratory distres, anorexia, and depression for 3 days was referred. In laboraRadiographic findings mainly included pleural effusion, dilation of pulmonary vessels, pulmonary edema, and ascites.Echocardiography showed dilation of four cardiac chambers, malformation of.the tricuspid and mitral valve, andatrioventricular valve regurgitant jet flow. The cat was euthanized by clients request and confirmed to the tricuspidand mitral valve dysplasia by necropsy and histopathologic examination.
