Cyclic Reverse Double Shear Creep 시 초소성 Zn-22% Al 합금의 결정립 성장에 관한 연구

The cyclic reverse double shear creep test was adopted to investigate the grain growth of Zn-22% Al superplastic alloy. The results represent that the shear specimens experience more increment of concurrent grain growth and consequently increase in grain size, as the test cycle increases. The results indicate that stress reversal effect is the major factor influencing grain growth in shear test. The relation between shear strain rate(γ˙) and grain size (d) could be expressed as follow, when the unit of γ˙ and d is 10-⁴/sec and ㎛, respectively : log γ˙=-1.2571og d-3.7
Al-Mn계 합금의 금속간 화합물 형성에 미치는 Mn 양의 영향

The effect of Mn contents in An-Mn aluminum alloys on formation of intermetallic compounds was studied using optical microscope, SEM, EDX. The concentrations of dissolved Mn as well as Mn in precipitates increased with the addition of Mn. It was found that volume fraction of Al15(Fe,Mn)3Si2 and Al12(Fe,Mn)3Si phases, which were precipitated as entectic compounds was increased with the increase of Mn contents in Al-Mn aluminum alloys. However, Al6(Fe,Mn) phase of mass type was precipitated as a primary compound in the Al-Mn alloys with 1.5%Mn contents.

A study on the high temperature characteristics of Cu-Ag, and Cu-1.5Zr alloys which in normally used in commutator was performed. The proper content of Ag amount of Cu alloy for commutator was 0.08% Ag. This alloy has a good electrical conductivity and retention of strength at elevated temperature. The Cu-1.5Zr alloy which cold worked followed by aging showed superior high temperature strength and good electrical conductivity. So, this alloy can be applicated in commutator for a high speed motor.
구상화흑연주철의 냉각변태거동에 미치는 오스테나이트화 온도의 영향

The purpose of this study is to clarify the continuous cooling transformation behavior of the spheroidal graphite cast ion during heat treatment at various austenitiged condition. When the specimen was furnace cooled, there was no effects of austenitinzing temperature on the microstructure and hardness value. In the case of water quenching as the austenitinzing temperature increased from 850℃ to 950℃, the high carbon plate martensite was coarsend and the amount of retained austenite increased. Air colling condition had the most effective austenitinzing temperature on hardenability of shpherodized cast iron among the cooling conditions and the higher asunitizing temperuture had superior hardenability.

Rapid solidified splats Al-(1, 3, 5Cr) Alloys were produced by atomization-splat quenching method. Effects of mechanical alloying on the structure and mechcanical properties of rapidly solidified Al-(1, 3, 5)Cr alloys were studied. Degree of mechanical alloying of Al-(1, 3, 5)Cr alloys can be determined by observing the microstructural refinement, microhardness and microstructure of Al-(l, 3, 5)Cr splats during processing. In the initial stage of mechanical alloying of the Al-(1, 3, 5)Cr splats fracturing of the grain boundaries occured first, followed after fracturing of zone A regions. Saturation hardness of Al-(1, 3, 5)Cr alloys increased proportionally with increasing concentration of the solute (Cr). Age hardening was not observed in these alloys. Decomposition temperature of Al-1Cr splats after mechanical alloying was higher than that of Al-5Cr splats. The density of Al_7 Cr precipitates increased proportionally with increasing chromium content, as a result, there was a transition to finely and spherically dispersed phase after mechanical alloying.

The structure and mechanical properties of the extruded specimens were investigated in rapid solidified Al-(1, 3, 5) Cr alloys after mechanical alloying. Finer lamellar microstructure could no longer be resolved in the bars obtained by extrusion of the spherical particles after 200min. of processing time. The structure of extruded bars are highly depended on the processing time of splats. The isothermal annealing of the extruded bars showed that all the alloys had good thermal stability up to 400℃ and did not show the recrystallization phenomena. Severe working of Al-(1, 3, 5)Cr splats produced a very fine grain size and substructural strengthening (high dislocation density and fine grain size). Effects of mechanical alloying on the thermal stability of the extruded bars Al-(1, 3, 5) Cr alloys decreases, with increasing Cr content. But the ultimate tensile Strength in the extruded bars increases with increasing Cr content.
Al-Si 합금에서 Sc의 입자미세화 및 개량화 효과에 관한 연구

Effect of 0.4wt.%Sc on the refinement and modification of microstructure of Al-10wt.%Si castings was investigated. Sc was found to form Al3Sc type compound in this alloy, and was distributied around eutectic Si. As a result, Sc showed an excellent refining and modifying effect in Al-10wt.%Si alloy.

A study of casting design for manufacture of piston of spherodized cast iron was carried out, and the results are as fallows. Addition of 0.5%Cu was effective for the stabilizing of spherodized microstructure. Pouring temperature of molten metal should not to be under 1350℃. To get rid of shrinkage of hollow part for ring, the pouring gate was separated by upper and lower side, and to supply the molten metal sufficiently to this part. The defects of head part of piston was modified by core treatment of mold.
