Up to now, automobile vehicle CAE analysis has been focused on satisfying individual performance like as durability, vibration, safety, etc. using data from vehicle design division. Recently fuel economy has become more important in addition to basic performance. For this reason, efforts to increase fuel efficiency and reduce manufacturing cost also have become important at the same time. This study is concerned with the method and automation tool for selecting the parts that can reduce weight while considering the entire collision performance. This study introduce the objective analysis index in addition to the weight reduction activities that have been carried out from the past based on the collision analysis. It is possible to analyze the energy absorption rate, strain and stress generated in each part by considering all the collision modes to be considered during vehicle development. We conclude that this data analysis can maximize the weight reduction effect in the vehicle development process. In addition, by automating these indicators with the post-processing program Hyperwork, weight/cost reduction was maximized.
