This study conducted an empirical analysis through a survey to analyze the effect of social risk perception caused by COVID-19 on college students' cosmetics purchase behavior. Factors were extracted through factor analysis, and Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the correlation of each factor and the impact of variables. To this end, a statistical analysis was conducted using 320 copies of the questionnaire as a sample. Studies have shown that the higher the fear of COVID-19, the higher the fear of infection, changes in life, and awareness of the economic crisis, and the higher the tendency to buy ostentatiously, habitually, and reasonably. The more changes in life, the higher the awareness of the economic crisis, and the higher the trademark habitual purchase and rational purchase behavior. Fear of infection has been shown to affect trademark habitual purchases, and fear of infection and changes in life have been shown to have a significant impact on rational purchase behavior.

Despite its potential significance for industrial utilization, any activities associated with the mining of manganese (Mn) nodules might have substantial impacts on benthic ecosystems. Because microorganisms respond quickly to changing environmental conditions, a study of microbial communities provides a relevant proxy to assess possible changes in benthic ecosystems associated with mining activities. We investigated fine-scale microbial community composition and diversity inside and on the surface of Mn nodules and in nearby deep-sea sediments in the Korea Deep Ocean Study (KODOS) area located in the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone (CCFZ) of the northeast equatorial Pacific. Although microbial cell density was lower within nodules (3.21 × 106 cells g-1) than in sediment (2.14 × 108 cells g-1), nodules provided a unique habitat for microorganisms. Manganese-oxidizing bacteria including Hyphomicrobium and Aurantimonas in Alphaproteobacteria and Marinobacter in Gammaproteobacteria were abundant in nodules, which implied that these bacteria play a significant role in nodule formation. In contrast, Idiomarina in Gammaproteobacteria and Erythrobacter and Sulfitobacter in Alphaproteobacteria were abundant in sediments. Meanwhile, Thaumarchaeota, a phylum that consists of ammonia-oxidizing chemolithoautotrophs, were the predominant archaeal group both in nodules and sediment. Overall, microbial communities in Mn nodules were unique compared to those observed in sediments. Furthermore, the phylogenetic composition of microorganisms in the KODOS area was distinguishable from that in the nodule provinces claimed by China and Germany in the CCFZ and nodule fields in the central South Pacific Gyre, respectively.

The purpose of this study is to examine the play aspects of children of a class of five-year- olds who played using “boxes”, an unstructured play material, during free play time. For the purpose of this study, “boxes” were provided with minimal classroom material to a class. A total of 30 observation sessions were conducted for 16 five-year-old children (9 boys and 7 girls) at D daycare center located in D city over the course of 7 weeks. During observation, data was collected and qualitatively analyzed through the researcher’s field memo, play situation photos, and the researcher’s journal. The results of the study found that children used the boxes provided to form and shape the classroom environment, as well as to expand the area of play to spaces outside of the classroom. Patterns pertaining to playing with the box as well as changing its shape emerged. The children took the initiative in changing their environment through the voluntary play process with their unstructured play material and created various play environments and play themes. Through this study, it was attempted to shed light on the significance of play with boxes in relevance to unstructured play material. In this, it is thought that practical examples can be provided in the field where there are efforts to support and improve a play environment in order to vitalize child-led play.

Objectives: The objective of this case report is to introduce the development process, structure, characteristics, and effectiveness of the web database (DB) system developed for the hypertension management program in the primary health care setting in the low-income urban areas of Peru. Methods: A Korean research team cooperated with a Peruvian IT startup company to develop a web DB system to improve the data management of the hypertension management program. The entire web application infrastructure was hosted using the Amazon Web Service. Two different web platforms were established for the user groups of health workers and researchers (program managers). Results: A total of 2,827 program participants were registered in the web DB system until December 2017. Health professionals can input the participant data while providing consultation to the program participants, and the data is accumulated in the web DB in real time. Input errors or data loss is prevented by setting restrictions in the data entry system. During the 4-year project period, 7,696 hours of working time and USD 39,536.48 for data management were saved as the result of web DB system utilization. Conclusions: The developed web DB system contributed to improve the health condition of the health program participants by providing necessary information to the health professionals at the right time. This case report could be a reference for other researcher to develop web databases for their own context, especially in developing countries.
16S rDNA 분석을 이용한 강화도 장화리 갯벌 퇴적물 내 미생물 군집구조 및 다양성

강화도 장화리 갯벌 퇴적물 내의 두 층(0-1cm, 6-7cm 깊이)에 서식하는 미생물 군집구조 및 다양성을 비교하기 위해 16S rDNA의 서열에 기초한 말단제한절편 다형성(terminal-restriction fragment length polymorphism ; T-RFLP)분석과 클론의 염기서열 분석을 실시하였다. 제한 효소HhaI을 이용한 T-RFLP분석 결과표층(0-1cm)에서는 다양한 크기(($60{\pm}2$) bp-($667{\pm}2$)bp)의 말단제한절편(T-RF)들이 고른 분포로 나타났으며, 저층(6-7 cm)에서는 ($60{\pm}2$)bp와 ($93{\pm}2$) bp의 T-RF가 우세하게 나타나 표층에 비해 미생물 군집구조가 단순한 것으로 조사되었다. 총 172개의 클론의 16S rDNA부분 염기서열 분석 결과 98% 유사도 수준에서 98%의 클론이 GenBank에 등록된 염기서열 중 배양된 어떤 미생물과도 일치하지 않는 것으로 조사되었으며, 이 중 148개의 클론(86%)이 서로 다른 계통형(phylotype)으로 분류되어 다양한 미생물이 서식하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 대부분의 클론들은 $\alpha$-, $\gamma$, $\delta$-Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria/Holophaga 그리고 green nonsulfur bacteria 그룹 내에 속하였고, 이 중 Proteobacteria 그룹이 표층에서는 전체의 69%, 저층에서는 46%의 높은 비율을 차지하였다. 또한 황원소의 산화와 환원에 관련된 $\gamma$-Proteobacteria와 $\delta$-Proteobacteria 그룹이 각각 21.5%와 15.7%로 우세하게 나타나 갯벌의 미생물 군집 구조가 혐기성 환경에서의 황환원에 의해 생성된 황의 거동과 밀접한 연관이 있음을 시사하였다. T-RFLP analysis and clone sequencing analysis based on bacterial 16S rDNA were conducted to assess bacterial community structure and diversity in two layers (0-1cm, 6-7cm depth) of the sediment from Janghwari intertidal flat in Ganghwa Island. The results of T-RFLP (terminal-restriction fragment length polymorphism) analysis using restriction enzyme HhaI showed that the T-RFs of various size ($60{\pm}2$) bp-($667{\pm}2$) bp) appeared evenly at the surface sediments but two T-RFs with 60(${\pm}2$)bp and 93 (${\pm}2$)bp predominated at 6-7cm depth. Analysis of partial sequences for 172 clones revealed that 98% of the clones were not matched with the sequences of cultured bacteria strains in the GenBank (${\geq}similarity$ 98%), and approximately 86% of them were classified as different phylotypes. Most clones belonged to $\alpha$-, $\gamma$-, and $\delta$-Proteobacteria, Acidobacteria/Holophaga and green nonsulfur bacteria group. Proteobacteria group occupied the highest proportion in both layers (69% at 0-1cm depth and 46% at 6-7cm depth). $\gamma$-Proteobacteria and $\delta$-Proteobacteria that are associated with oxidation and reduction of sulfur compounds were appeared to be dominant, and comprised 21.5% and 15.7% of total clones, respectively. Overall results indicated that extremely diverse bacterial groups were inhabiting in the sediment of Ganghwa intertidal flat, and bacterial communities associated with the behaviour of sulfur seemed to playa significant role in the biogeochemical environment in this anoxic sediment.
동해 울릉분지 가스 하이드레이트 매장 지역의 메탄산화 미생물 군집 조성 및 분포

동해 울릉 분지 내 메탄 하이드레이트가 매장된 지역에서 혐기적 메탄 산화와 연관된 미생물 군집 특성을 이해하기 위해 메탄 누출이 있는 대륙사면 정점(UBGH2-3)과 메탄 누출이 없는 분지 정점(UBGH2-10)에서, (1) 퇴적물의 지화학적 성분 및 황산염 환원율을 측정하였으며, (2) 기능성 유전자 분석을 통해 혐기적 메탄 산화 미생물 및 황산염 환원 미생물 군집의 정량 및 다양성 분석을 수행하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 황산염-메탄 전이지대(sulfate and methane transition zone, SMTZ)는 UBGH2-3에서 0.5~1.5 mbsf (meters below seafloor), 그리고 UBGH2-10에서는 6~7 mbsf에 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 두 지역의 SMTZ에서 측정된 황산염 환원율은 UBGH2-3의 1.15 mbsf에서 $1.82nmol\;cm^{-3}d^{-1}$으로 나타났고, UBGH2-10의 SMTZ에서 황산염 환원율은 $4.29nmol\;cm^{-3}d^{-1}$으로 높은 값을 보였다. 총 미생물 16S rRNA gene과 기능성 유전자인 mcrA (methyl coenzyme M reductase subunit A) 및 dsrA (dissimilatory sulfite reductase subunit A)의 정량 PCR 결과 두 정점의 SMTZ 부근에서 상대적으로 높게 검출되었다. 그러나 UBGH2-10지역에서 mcrA 유전자는 SMTZ 아래인 9.8 bmsf에서 가장 높게 검출되었다. mcrA 유전자의 다양성 분석 결과 두 지역의 SMTZ와 그 아래 퇴적층에서 혐기성 메탄산화 고세균(ANME: Anaerobic MEthanothoph) 군집인 ANME-1이 우점하였다. 한편, ANME-2 군집은 메탄 누출이 발생하는 UBGH2-3지역의 2.2 mbsf 층에서만 관찰되었고, 더불어 dsr 유전자 다양성 분석 결과 ANME-2와 컨소시엄을 이루는 Desulfosarcina-Desulfococcus (DSS) 이 나타났다. 본 연구 결과, ANME-1과 ANME-2은 동해 심부 퇴적 환경에서 혐기적 메탄 산화 및 생성 과정에 관여하는 중요한 고세균 군집으로 사료되며, 또한 ANME-2/DSS 컨소시엄은 메탄이 누출되는 지역인 UBGH2-3과 같이 혐기적 메탄 산화가 활발한 곳에서 메탄 거동을 조절하는 중요한 미생물 그룹으로 인식된다. To elucidate the microbial consortia responsible for the anaerobic methane oxidation in the methane hydrate bearing sediments, we compared the geochemical constituents of the sediment, the rate of sulfate reduction, and microbial biomass and diversity using an analysis of functional genes associated with the anaerobic methane oxidation and sulfate reduction between chimney site (UBGH2-3) on the continental slope and non-chimney site (UBGH2-10) on the basin of the Ulleung Basin. From the vertical profiles of geochemical constituents, sulfate and methane transition zone (SMTZ) was clearly defined between 0.5 and 1.5 mbsf (meters below seafloor) in the UBGH2-3, and between 6 and 7 mbsf at the UBGH2-10. At the UBGH2-3, the sulfate reduction rate (SRR) in the SMTZ exhibited was appeared to be $1.82nmol\;cm^{-3}d^{-1}$ at the depth of 1.15 mbsf. The SRR in the UBHG2-10 showed a highest value ($4.29nmol\;cm^{-3}d^{-1}$) at the SMTZ. The 16S rRNA gene copy numbers of total Prokaryotes, mcrA, (methyl coenzyme M reductase subunit A), and dsrA (dissimilatory sulfite reductase subunit A) showed the peaks in the SMTZ at both sites, but the maximum mcrA gene copy number of the UBGH2-10 appeared below the SMTZ (9.8 mbsf). ANME-1 was a predominant ANME (Anaerobic MEthanotroph) group in both SMTZs of the UBGH2-3 and -10. However, The sequences of ANME-2 were detected only at 2.2 mbsf of the UBGH2-3 where high methane flux was observed because of massive amount of gas hydrate at shallow depth. And Desulfosarcina-Desulfococcus (DSS) that is associated with ANME-2 was detected in 2.2 mbsf of the UBHG2-3. Overall results demonstrate that ANME-1 and ANME-2 are considered as significant archaeal groups related to methane cycle in the subsurface sediment of the East Sea, and ANME-2/DSS consortia might be more responsible for methane oxidation in the methane seeping region than in non-seeping region.

This study was aimed to evaluate the clinical impact of nodal yield on recurrence in patients with node negative, early stage cervical cancer. Retrospective chart review was performed for 93 women with early stage (clinical stage 1A2 to 1B1) cervical cancer, who underwent radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy between 2003 and 2011. According to the cut-off value (nodal yield > 27) which has been determined by the receiver operating characteristic curve, patients were divided into group A (nodal yield ≤ 27) and group B (nodal yield > 27). Patients in group B were associated with recurrence (p=0.058). Also, the disease-free survival was poor in group B, although it failed to show significance (87.1 ± 3.67 months vs. 67.9 ± 4.42 months, p=0.210). Clinicopathologic characteristics in both groups were not different, except for a larger tumor size of group B (p=0.044). Cox`s regression analysis revealed that a higher amount of nodal yield (p=0.049, 95% CI 0.050-0.997) and deep stromal invasion (p=0.045, 95% CI 0.048-0.963) were poor prognostic factors. Our findings show that an excessive pelvic lymphadenectomy had no benefit in reference to disease recurrence and survival.
