        靑娥丸加味가 卵巢摘出 白鼠의 骨多孔症에 미치는 影響

        Osteoporosis is one of the most common metabolic bone disease. When the bone density is reduced to the level below the fracture threshold, the risk of fracture is greatly increased. The purpose of this study is to examine what are the effects of the ovariectomized rat model of postmenopausal osteoporosis. The results of the experiment are as follows: 1. Body weight in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in Chungahwangamy(CAH)-treated showed no change in comparison with control. 2. The level of serum albumin in control group showed significant decrease in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated showed no change in coparison with control. 3. The level of serum alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated showed no change in coparison with control. 4. The level of serum calcium in control group showed no change in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated was significantly decreased in comparison with control. 5. The level of serum phosphorous in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated showed no change in comparison with control. 6. The level of serum T_3 in control group showed no change in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated was significantly decreased in comparison with control. 7. The level of serum T_4 in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, and that in CAH-treated showed significant decreased in comparison with control. 8. Mechanical strength of the femur neck in control group showed significant decrease in comparison with sham, but that in CAH-treated showed no change in comparison with control. According to the above these results, CAH has shown to be capable of preventing and curing osteoporosis caused by postmenopause.

        獨活寄生湯이 卵巢嫡出로 骨多孔症이 誘發된 白鼠에 미치는 影響

        Osteoporosis is a state of reduced bone mass per unit volume with a normal ratio of mineral to matrix. Postmenopausal osteoporosis is known to be related to estrogen deficiency and give rise to spine and hip fracture in old person. The purpose of this study is to examine what are the effects of the Dokhwalkisaengtang(DHKST) on the ovariectomized rat model of postmenopausal osteoporosis. The results were summarized as follows : 1. Body weight in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in DHKST-treated showed no change in comparison with control. 2. The level of serum albumin in control group showed significant decrease in comparison with sham. That in DHKST-treated was slightly decreased in comparison with control, which showed no efficacy. 3. The level of serum ALP activity in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in DHKST-treated was slightly decreased in comparison with control, which showed no efficacy. 4. The level of serum phosphorous in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, but that in DHKST-treated showed no change in comparison with control. 5. The level of serum calcium in control group showed no change in comparison with sham, but that in DHKST-treated was significantly decreased in comparison with control. 6. The level of serum T3 in control group showed no change in comparison with sham, but that DHKST-treated showed significant decrease in comparison with control. 7. The level of serum T4 in control group showed significant increase in comparison with sham, and that in DHKST-treated showed significant decrease in comparison with control. 8. Trabecular tibia strength in control group showed significant decrease in comparison with sham, but that in DHKST-treated was increased in comparison with control. According to the above these results, DHKST has shown to be capable of preventing and curing osteoporosis caused by postmenopause.

        궁경1호전(宮頸1號煎)이 자궁경부암세포(子宮頸部癌細胞)(HeLa Cell)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        To address the ability of Kung-Kyung-Ilho-Jeon(KK) to induce cell death, we investigated the effect of KK on cell viability. Forty-eight hours later, loss of viability occurred following KK exposure in a dose-dependent manner. The treatment of KK, a commonly used herb formulation in Korea and China, caused a decrease in cell viability. KK also resulted in apoptotic morphology a brightly blue-fluorescent condensed nuclei by Hoechst 33258-staining, and reduction of cell volume. Our results show that KK induces caspase-3 and -9 activation in a time-dependent manner. In addtion, the translocation of cytochrome c release into cytoplasm has been observed under the presence of $5mg/m{\ell}$ KK. The subsequent loss of mitochondria membrane potential is collapsed by the addition of KK. Our immunoblotting data show that PARP, a well known caspase-3 and -6 substrate, is cleaved by KK. We show that a pro-apoptotic protein, Bax is increased in the presence of KK but that the amount of Bcl-2 is not changed. We suggest that Bax, a critical protein which can regulate channel of mitochondria to release cytochrome c, is a key protein in KK-induced apoptosis of Hela human cervical carcinoma cells

        開鬱種玉湯이 생쥐에 束縛 Stress 負荷後 血中 Hormone 含量과 免疫能 變化에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of Kaewooljongoktang water extract (KJT) on immobilization stress in C57BL/6J mice. KJT decreased the serum level of histamine and corticosterone increased by immobilization stress. In addition, KJT enhanced the cell viability of thymocytes and splenocytes decreased by immobilization stress. Also, KJT increased the viability of thymocytes and did not affect the viability of splenocytes in vitro. KJT did not affect DNA fragmentation of thymocytes and decreased DNA fragmentation of splenocytes increased by immobilization stress. KJT did not affect the population of thymic CD4+ cells increased by immobilization stress, and increased the population of B220+ cells decreased by immobilization stress and increased the population of splenic CD4+ cells increased by immobilization stress. KJT enhanced the production of -interferon, IL-2 and IL-4 decreased by immobilization stress. Also, KJT enhanced the phagocytic activity decreased by immobilization stress and enhanced the level of nitric oxide decreased by immobilization stress. These results indicate that KJT may be useful for the prevention and treatment of stress via suppression of serum histamine and corticosterone level and enhancement of specific- and nonspecific-immune response.

        加味交感丸이 白鼠의 排卵과 卵巢에 미치는 影響

        Gamikyogamhwan(GMKGH : 加味交感丸) is used in female infertility, caused by ovulation disorder. An attempt was made to evaluate the influences of GMKGH on the serum concentrations of FSH, LH, and estradiol(E2), the histological changes of ovary and the immunohistochemic-al staining for AT2 receptor in ovary of rats. The results of the study were as follows : 1. In blood FSH level, experimental group as compared with control group showed no efficacy. 2. In blood LH level, experimental group as compared with control group showed no efficacy. 3. Blood E2 level significantly increased in experimental group as compared with control group. 4. In histological observations of ovary, ovulation significantly increased in experimental group as compared control group. 5. In observations of immunohistochemical staining for AT2 receptor in ovary, there is no difference between control group and experimental group. According to these results, it can be concluded that GMKGH influences ovary to increase the ovulation of rats.

        左歸丸이 白鼠의 排卵에 미치는 影響

        Joaguihwan(JGH) is used in gynecological disease. An attempt was to evaluate the fluences of JGH on the serum concentrations of FSH, LH and estrogen(E2), the stological and optical changes of ovary, ovary weight of rats. The results of the study were as follows 1. Blood FSH level in experimental group as compared with control group on 5th day and 10th day showed no efficacy. 2. Blood LH level in experimental group as compared with control group on 5th day showed no efficacy. 3. Blood E2 level increased in experimental group as compared with control group on 5th day and 10th day, but which showed no efficacy. 4. In histolgical observations of ovary, ovulation increased in experi- mental group as compared control group on 5th day and on 10th day, which showed no efficacy. 5. In optically observations of ovary, weight of ovary showed no change in exerimental group as compared with control group on 5th day and 10th day. According to these results, JGH did not influence on the ovulation and ovary of rats.
