2017년 호서지역 마한·백제 고고학 조사·연구 성과와 과제

본고에서는 호서지역을 중심으로 2017년에 이루어진 마한·백제 관련 유적 조사와 고고학적 연구 성과를 살펴보았다. 2017년에 호서지역에서는 약 300건에 가까운 유적 조사 허가가 이루어졌는데, 이들 중 마한·백제와 관련된 것으로 생각되는 것은 매장유적 11개소와 생활유적 12개소, 그 외에 관방과 생산유적 등을 합해 모두 36개소이다. 2017년에는 예년과 달리 점토대토기가 공반되는 초기철기 관련 유적의 조사 사례가 알려지지 않은 점이 특이하다. 원삼국시대 유적도 서산과 세종·계룡·청주 지역 등지에 한정되어 조사되었는데, 예년보다 이 시기 유적의 규모가 작고 집중도도 낮은 편이다. 이와 달리 백제유적은 지역적으로 편중됨없이 각 지역에서 다양한 성격의 유적들이 확인·조사되었다. 호서지역의 조사성과 가운데 가장 주목할 만한 것으로는 무엇보다도 진천 송두산업단지에서 조사된 A.D.4세기 무렵의 제철생산단지를 꼽을 수 있다. 10만㎡ 이상의 드넓은 면적에 세워진 대규모 생산단지를 운영한 주체는 과연 누구였을지, 향후 다각적인 검토가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 또 일제 강점기 때 처음 조사된 부여 금강사지에서는 의외로 백제 관련 유구가 확인되지 않고 있어 향후 발굴조사결과가 주목된다. 한편 호서지역에서 조사된 취락과 무덤·성곽 등의 유구와 토기·철기·기와 등의 유물을 대상으로 다양한 고고학적 연구도 이루어져, 호서 지역의 마한과 백제 문화에 대한 심도 있는 논의를 이어가고 있다. 또한 시점의 학술적 관심과 수준을 가장 잘 보여주는 자리인 학술회의 역시 의례와 고분·성곽·활용 등 상당히 다양한 측면에서 호서지역의 고고학적 자료에 대한 논의가 집중적으로 이루어짐으로써, 호서 지역의 마한과 백제에 대한 이해도를 보다 높이는 자리가 되었다고 생각한다. One of the most notable achievements of Hoseo's research was the iron production complex in the 4th Century AD, which was found in Songdusan Industrial Park in Jincheon. Who was responsible for running a large-scale production complex built on a large area of more than 100,000㎡? A multilateral review is required in the future. In addition, the Buyeo Geumgangsaji(Temple Site), which was first surveyed during the Japanese colonial period, unexpectedly, Baekje-related ruins have not been confirmed, and the results of the excavation will attract attention. On the other hand, it is believed to have enhanced understanding of Mahan and Baekje in Hoseo area as it conducted a variety of archaeological studies on the remains of villages, tombs, castles, and relics such as earthenware, iron, tiles, and so on. The academic conference, which is the best place to show the academic interest and level of the period, also has a lot of discussion about the archaeological data of Hoseo area in terms of ceramics, tombs, castle, It can be said that it was the place where it raised.
