Iago and Faustus: Director vs. Actor in the Play of ‘Will to Power'

조성원영국 르네상스 문학에서 말로우의 파우스트와 셰익스피어의 이아고는 서로 양반되는 두 가지 이미지를 공유한 대표적인 인물들이다. 중세 기독교적 윤리의 세계에서 바라보면 이들은 인간의 자만심(pride)을 내세워 신의 권위에 도전하다 추락한 부정적인 인물이지만, 르네상스 휴머니즘의 시각에서 본다면 이들은 단연 당시 사회의 새로운 정신을 이어받아 인간의지의 무한한 가능성을 실천하려한 ‘새로운 인간형’이기 때문이다. 그리고 후자적인 측면에서 파우스트와 이아고는 니체가 주장한 ‘권력에의 의지(Will to power)’를 몇 세기 앞서 문학적으로 재현하고 있는 인물이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 르네상스 시대가 산출해 낸 새로운 인간형으로서의 이아고와 파우스트가 보여 준 인간의지적 행동의 특징들을 비교적으로 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 각 인물의 성격과 비극적 몰락 사이에 어떠한 상관관계가 있는지를 논의한다. 결론적으로, 이아고와 파우스트는 연극이라는 상징적인 공간을 통하여 ‘인간의지’의 세계를 실현하고자 하였다는 점에서는 동일하지만 그 세계를 실현하는 과정에 있어서는 상당한 차이점을 보인다. 이아고의 경우는 작가적 독자성과 창의력을 갖춘 연출가적인 면모가 돋보이는 반면 파우스트의 경우는 마법의 노예가 되어 메피스토필리스라는 연출가의 말에 따라 수동적으로 움직이는 배우적인 면모가 강한데, 이러한 행동의 차이는 끝까지 자신의 의지를 굽히지 않은 이아고와 후회 속에 자신의 생을 마감하는 파우스트가 대비되는 두 작품의 결말과 밀접한 관련을 지닌다.
학부제 학생의 전공선택요인과 만족도에 관한 연구 : 경주대학교를 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to explore what factors affects major choice of freshmen and how students evaluate about their choice. For this study, both studies of related literature and an empirical investigation have been carried. And frequency, crosstabs, and regression analysis are conducted to analysis determinate factors of major choice and students' satisfactions about major's choice. This survey provides that the experience of major related classes, the orientation of students' aim, the prospect of major are the major factors in the major choice. But the recommendation of families, the campus activities of major related, influence of speech and writing are not affect on the major choice. And students' satisfactions about major's choice are very high in the positive answers. Also the campus activities of major related, social recognition of job after graduation, data of major related as independent variables significantly affect satisfaction as dependent variables at 0.05 level. The limit of this study is that only the students of Gyeongju University are chosen as research sample, so generalization of conclusion should be restrained. Accordingly further studies consider the limits of current study carried.

This study has focused on the independence and fraud exception of the standby letter of credit in the international transaction. For this purpose, this study discusses the two main characteristics of the standby credit-independence and fraud exception. All credits are that the issuer undertakes to pay an value against specific documents which accompany the request for payment. But the beneficiary can frequently obtain is payment under standby credit by presenting a simple demand to issuer. And the issuer is not responsible for performance or breach of any underlying transaction. So the most significant problem is that the issuer must strictly examine the documents presented by the beneficiary. The meaning of strict compliance on documents face against the terms and conditions of its stated in the standby credit is precise and mirror image tested by the issuer. However in standby credit transaction the applicant disputes the beneficiary’s right to draw under the credit that it asserts that such presentation is fraudulent. So, where the seller’s fraud has been called to the bank’s attention before the draft and documents have been presented for payment, the principle of the independence of the bank’s obligation under credit must not be extended to protect the unscrupulous seller. But neither the UCP nor ISP 98 prescribe rules concerning when the issuer may or should refuse because the beneficiary’s draw is fraudulent. After all these issues are left to applicable law under which issuer is relived of its obligation to honor a documents presented. This exception, known as the fraud exception, is available in narrow circumstances.

Human iris recognition systems are generally composed of four main modules; image acquisition, preprocessing, feature extraction, recognition/verification. The recognition/verification part shows the results for the identification of users. Wavelet transform can express localization of signal in space-frequency domain. However, the feature vector can be changed in the case of using Wavelet transform for feature extraction of pattern recognition. In this paper, a new pattern recognition algorithm using translation-invariant Wavelet Transform is proposed to get around the problems of Wavelet Transform. The experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Low frequency (400 kHz) Ferrite ICP has been proposed for large area processing. Because the coupling coefficient is close to 1, the transformer matching can be adapted to Ferrite ICP. The transformer matching system is simple. In this paper the new matching system by controlling the turns of transformer using relays is proposed for impedance matching. We developed a simple matching system and characterized it when the turns were changed. It was observed that the 2-channel relay is available for transformer matching.

A modified Kohonen's self-organizing feature map (SOFM) algorithm which has binary reinforcement function and a constant learning rate is proposed. In contrast to the time-varing adaptaion gain of the original Kohonen's SOFM algorithm, the proposed algorithm uses a constant adaptation gain, and adds a binary reinforcement function in order to compensate for the lowered learning ability of SOFM due to the constant learning rate. Since the proposed algorithm does not have the complicated multiplication, it's digital hardware implementation is much easier than that of the original SOFM.
