Dual Echo 영상의 동시 획득을 위한 새로운 Fast Spin Echo 자기 공명 영상법

자기 공명 영상에서 최근에 개발된 fast spin echo 영상법은 종래에 사용되었던 spin echo 영상법과 거의 같은 화질과 contrast를 제공하면서도 8-16배 이상 촬영 시간이 단축되어 임상적으로 많이 사용되는 촬영 방법 중의 하나로 자리 잡았다. 그러나 종래의 spin echo영상법과는 달리, 동시에 spin밀도 영상과T 강조 영상을 제공하는 dual echo 영상법은 fast spin echo의 경우, 촬영 시간이 2배로 늘어나기 때문에 그 중요한 장점을 잃어 버리게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 dual echo를 동시에 얻기 위한 현재의 fast spin echo 영상법의 이와 같은 단점을 해결하는 새로운 영상법을 제안한다. 새로운 영상법은 기존의 fast spin echo와 거의 같은 화질을 제공하면서도 dual echo 영상을 얻는데 추가 촬영 시간을 요구하지 않는다. 이를 입증하기 위하여 인체 실험을 수행하였고 그 결과를 기존의 방법으로 얻은 영상과 비교함으로써 그 유용성을 보인다. In magnetic resonance imaging, the fast spin echo imaging technique is a widely used clinical imaging method. since its scanning time is much shorter than the conventional spin echo imaging and it gives the almost same image quality. However, the fast spin echo technique has two times longer imaging time for the dual echo acquisition which can obtain a spin density image and a T-give the same qulity images at the single echo imaging time. T he proposed technique reduces the imaging time by overlapping most of were obtained at the 0.3T permanent MRI system are presented.
Toothpick Colon Injury Mimicking Colonic Diverticulitis

Although toothpick ingestion is rare, it can lead to fatal complications in the gastrointestinal tract. Diagnosing toothpick ingestion is difficult because most patients do not recall swallowing one. We report 2 cases of toothpick-ingestion-induced colon injury, mimicking diverticulitis. The first patient was a 47-year-old male who had received conservative treatment under the impression of his having diverticulitis in the cecum. Ultrasonography revealed a linear foreign body in the right lower abdomen; a subsequent laparoscopic examination revealed inflammation around the cecum, but no evidence of bowel perforation. A thorough investigation revealed a toothpick embedded in the subcutaneous fat and muscle layer of the lower abdominal wall; we removed it. The second patient was a 56-year-old male who had received conservative treatment under the impression of his having diverticulitis in the sigmoid colon. An explorative laparotomy revealed a toothpick piercing the sigmoid colon; we performed an anterior resection. Both patients were discharged without postoperative complications.

Sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy, also known as Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD), is a rare histiocytic disorder of unknown etiology. Most patients with RDD have spontaneous remission, but in some patients, the disease recurs after complete remission and may not respond to general treatment. Some patients with RDD involving the extranodal system can have serious symptoms such as vital organ dysfunction due to mass effects, neurological symptoms caused by intracranial involvement, and respiratory distress with airway involvement. We report the case of a 7-year-old girl with severe dyspnea due to refractory extranodal RDD that caused progressive upper airway obstruction. She was admitted because of nasal congestion and persistent cervical lymphadenopathy, and diagnosed as having RDD by cervical lymph node incisional biopsy. The initial prednisone treatment did not improve her symptoms. The following contrast-enhanced neck computed tomography revealed a newly developed airway mass protruding in the upper trachea. After 8 weeks of chemotherapy with vinblastine, methotrexate, and prednisone, complete remission was attained. Seven months after chemotherapy cessation, the disease recurred, and chemotherapy with vincristine, cytarabine, and prednisone was resumed. Despite the chemotherapy and emergency radiotherapy, no improvement was observed in the cervical lymph node enlargement and airway obstructive symptom due to the upper tracheal mass. 2-Chlorodeoxyadenosine (cladribine) therapy was initiated, and the patient got complete remission after 6 cycles of the cladribine treatment and maintained no evidence of disease for 2 years. We suggest that cladribine is an effective treatment option for recurrent/refractory RDD.

In MRI system, the eddy current is one of the causes of image degradation and various solutions have been used to overcome its effect. In particular, the RC high-pass filter is widely used to compensate the eddy current effect of gradient waveforms because of its low cost. However, it has some drawbacks of analog circuits such as offset and instability. We propose a new full digital eddy current compensator. It is a kind of digital IIR filter, which can be implemented using software. IIR filter method can solve problems of analog circuits. We demonstrate the computer simulation results of IIR filters in this paper.
범용 DSP SSP1600을 이용한 MPEG Huffman decoder의 구현

Many video compression and decompression systems require a high-speed implementation of variable-length (Huffman) coder and decoder. In this paper, MPEG Huffman decoder using a general purpose digital signal processor is implemented and its performance is analyzed. The method to use a general purpose DSP has some advantages. First, its programmability can support various algorithms such as JPEG, MPEG, and H. 261. Second, its development cost is low and the addition of extra logic for ASIC is easy. This paper analyzes the performance of SSP1600 for MPEG Huffman decoder and proposes the design of extra logic to improve its throughput.
TMS320C80을 이용한 Template Matching Algorithm의 구현

For an advanced manufacturing system the automations of the assembly and inspection of products are necessary and an image recognition system is required. In this paper, the high performance vision system using parallel digital signal processor, TMS320C80 is presented and the related S/W algorithm is described. In particular, the widely-used template matching algorithm which required a big computing power was newly developed and its optimal codes were implemented. The developed algorithm shows the high computation efficiency for TMS320C80. It has some advantages that the template size is unlimited and the accurate correlation can be obtained.
