Food is essential for sustenance and reflects a country’s identity, making it crucial to identify the cultural needs for effectively localizing Korean food. This study surveyed 825 adults from four continents (eight countries) to examine their preferences, familiarity, and attitudes toward Korean food. Significant correlations(p< .001) were found between the familiarity and preference for Korean food, with variations observed across continents. Among the representative Korean food items, the average preference score was 4.67, and the purchase/recommendation intention score was 4.88. Seven items received above-average ratings (e.g., gogi-deopbap and kimchi-bokkeumbap), while some items showed high liking but low purchase/recommendation intention (e.g. dak-jjim and galbi-jjim). In addition, items such as gimbap and tteokbokki had high purchase/recommendation intention but low liking, and kimchi and vegetable foods etc. received low liking and purchase/recommendation intentions. In terms of the preferred meat according to the cooking method and seasoning, beef respondents preferred grilled · stir-fried and soup·stew·hot pot cooking methods, while pork or chicken respondents preferred grilled · stir-fried and frying methods. Soy sauce was the most preferred seasoning for all meat responses, followed by red pepper paste. These research findings provide fundamental data for developing Korean food products, segmented by continent.

Photovoltaics (PV) power generation efficiency is affected by meteorological factors such as temperature and wind speed. In general, it is known that the power generation amount decreases because photovoltaics panel temperature rises and the power generation efficiency decreases in summer. Photovoltaics Thermal (PVT) power generation has the ad-vantage of being able to produce heat together with power, as well as preventing the reduction in power generation efficien-cy and output due to the temperature rise of the panel. In this study, the amount of heat collected by season and time was calculated for photovoltaics thermal modules using the International Weather for Energy Calculations (IWEC) data provided by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Based on this, we propose a method of predicting the temperature of the photovoltaics panel using thermal analysis and then calculating the flow rate of coolant to improve power generation efficiency. As the results, the photovoltaics efficiencies versus time on January, April, July, and October in Jeju of the Republic of Korea were calculated to the range of 15.06% to 17.83%, and the maxi-mum cooling load and flow rate for the photovoltaics thermal module were calculated to 121.16 W and 45 cc/min, respec-tively. Though this study, it could be concluded that the photovoltaics thermal system can be composed of up to 53 modules with targeting the Jeju, since the maximum capacity of the coolant circulation pump of the photovoltaics thermal system applied in this study is 2,400 cc/min.
Drop Tube Furnace에서 석회석 입자의 내외부 확산과 CO2 분압을 고려한 소성반응 수치해석 모델

SER(sorption enhanced reforming)이 적용된 이중유동층 가스화기에서는 가스화기에서 전달된 CaCO3가 소성반응을 통해 다시 CO2의 포집능력을 가지도록 CaO로 재생되기 위한 연소기의 최적 설계가 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 SER 개념을 적용한 바이오매스 이중유동층 가스화기 내 연소기 설계를 위해 석회석을 층물질로 사용하여 ANSYS Fluent 기반의 소성반응 수치해석 모델 개발 및 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 결과 실제 실험결과와의 오차율이 0.2% 이하로 계산되었고, 혼합기체에 CO2가 존재하는 경우 석회석 입자의 소성반응 속도가 제한되는 것을 확인하였으며, 공기 분위기에 비해 DTF 내 CO2가 존재하면 온도에 대한 소성반응 속도 민감도가 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
중심정맥관 삽입 시 발생하는 공기유입량의 예측: 실험연구

Objective: This study examined the incidence and amount of air inflow during central venous catheter (CVC) insertion. Methods: This study was an experimental study aimed at designing an apparatus to implement blood vessel and blood flow in the human body. A 1.5-m long core tube with a Teflon tube, suction rubber tube, and polyvinyl chloride tube were made. This core tube was assumed to be the blood vessel of the human body. Blood was replaced with a saline solution. The saline solution was placed higher than the core tube and flowed into the inside of the tube by gravity. The CVC was injected 15-cm deep into the core tube. The air was collected through a 3-way valve into the upper tube. The experiments were carried out by differentiating the pressure in the tube, CVC insertion step, and diameter of the end of the catheter. The experiment was repeated 10 times under the same conditions. Results: The amount of air decreased with increasing pressure applied to the tube. Air was not generated when the syringe needle was injected, and the amount of air increased with increasing size of the distal end catheter. Conclusion: To minimize the possibility of air embolism, it is necessary to close the distal end catheter at the earliest point as soon as possible.

CFD modeling of coal gasification in an E-Gas™ gasifier was conducted with an improved char gasification model using commercial code, ANSYS FLUENT14.0, in order to study the effect of the coal size on the gasification performance. The CFD modeling was carried out by solving the three-dimensional, steady-state Navier-Stokes equations with the Eulerian-Lagrangian method. In order to solve char gasification reactions, the random pore model with bulk and pore diffusion effects was considered via a user-defined function(UDF).

Application of syngas from RPF(Refused Plastic Fuel) on a power generation engine is investigated in a pilot scale test rig. The syngas was generated from a stoker type pyrolysis-gasification system of multi-staged waste pyrolysis process and experiments were conducted on a 20㎾e commercial syngas power generation engine. The syngas is mainly composed of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and methane and the performance of the engine was tested with various syngas composition. Electric power output and exhaust gas emissions are monitored for syngas and compared with the result of LNG case. This is a preliminary result of the application of waste syngas on a power generation engine.
