Vol.26 No.4
The purpose of this research is to study of three subjects of the text of Eutychus’ resuscitation in Troas, which is introduced in Paul's last miracle, that is also frequently omitted and very difficult to understand. First of all, it’s a question of whether ‘we’ belong to our paragraph. The text, Act 20:7-12 is included in “We Passage,” despite the change in the relation of verse 13 and the expression of “people” in verse 12, although “we” are mentioned only in verses 7, 8. reveals. ‘We’ are both witnesses and witnesses of the resurrection. Second, the background of the setting up of the community of Troas cannot be clarified through the mention of Acts chapter 16, 1 Corinthians, and 2 Timothy. However, the last time Paul visited, he grew to a size that would fill the upper chamber, and was probably the size of the church in Jerusalem. And the verb “peira,zw” confirms that Paul was deliberately visiting this place, as did Bithynia and Ephesus. It was a gateway to Europe, a port to Macedonia and one of the most important cities. Finally, the theological meaning conveys the message to the community of Troas that instead of worries and anxieties caused by his separation with Paul, he could be comforted. In particular, Paul’s “preaching” by the end of the night has the effect of demonstrating one aspect of Paul’s passionate ministry in his subsequent introduction to Millet preaching.
Vol.27 No.3
This paper is a commentarial study on the concept of 'friend of God' in the book of James of New Testament which appears as a core of the book for the first time. The writer of James introduced minutely to receivers about 'wisdom of Heaven from the above' which is ideology and value of God through the concept 'friend', and he envisions himself to grow up to a wise man namely 'mature man' who harmonizes faith with deed. Moreover, he encourages the receivers who are wandering between the secularistic value and the wisdom from the above to be 'friend of God' as Abraham. Particularly, the riches who were described solely as negative feature are the enemies of God who live according to secularistic value entirely, and they are described as people who do evil things and cause pain to the receivers one way or another. Except the case of a great merchant in chapter 4, they can be regarded as the non-believing riches. If authorship of James, a brother of Jesus is admitted, those riches in the context might Sadducees or relate to Sadducees.
