        韓國 衣類學 硏究의 現況과 再照明 : 1959∼1990

        Clothing and Textiles was introduced in the 1950s to Korea and has been developed. At this moment, it seems to be valuable to identify state of art of researches in clothing and textiles field. The purpose of the study was to investigate trends of subject-matter emphasis in clothing and textiles. The data were included clothing and textiles related research articles published in three professional journals from 1959 through 1990 and condensed at 5 year intervals. The identified 620 articles with clothing and textiles subject-matter emphasis were categorized in six areas: clothing construction, textiles, history of costume, design and aesthetics, sociopsychological aspect of clothing, and fashion merchandising. The results were as follows: 1. Since 1959, there has been a significant growth in terms of the number of research as well as in quality of research particulary considering the short history of the field. 2. The number of each area research was ranked as follows: 1) textiles (217) 2) history of costume (173) 3) socio-sychological aspect of clothing (88) 4) clothing construction (79) 5) fashion merchandising (34) 6) design and aesthetics (22) and others (7) 3. In the area of textiles, the most dominant area was clothing management (102 out of 217) and clothing hygenics research was getting increased from the late of 1980 through journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles. 4. In the area of history of costume, most of the research have been published through Journal of Korean Costume Society. History of korean costume was the most dominant area (120 out of 173) and history of eastern costume area was getting increased from the late of 1980s. 5. In the area of socio-psychological clothing, the research was accelated in the beginning of 1980s through Journal of the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, while the research was decreased a little in the late of 1980s. 6. In the area of clothing construction, it was revealed its decrease the percentage of total number of research and most of them were published through journal of Korean Home Economics. 7. In the area of fashion merchandising, there has been continuous increase in the number of research from the late of 1970s to 1990, present. For the future direction, implications for interdisciplinary and ecological approach were suggested.

        Pre-bloom Application of Gibberellin in ‘Tamnara’ Grape Increases γ-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) Production at Full Bloom

        A pre-bloom application of gibberellin (GA) on grapevines (Vitis spp.) induces fruit set without fertilization(parthenocarpy) by inhibiting pollen tube growth. In the present study, we analyzed transcriptional changes in the Vitisγ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) metabolic genes and the levels of GABA in grapevines with or without GA treatmentto understand how GA induces parthenocarpy in grapevines. Four Vitis glutamate decarboxylases (VvGAD), twoGABA transaminases (VvGABA-T), and three succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenases (VvSSADH) were identified ingrapevines, and their expression patterns were analyzed during inflorescence development from 14 days before fullbloom (DBF) to 5 days after full bloom (DAF). Without GA treatment, we observed simultaneously high expressionlevels of VvGAD1 and VvGABA-T2, with low levels of GABA from 10 to 5 DBF. With GA application, the levelsof GABA were mostly unaltered, and the expression levels of VvGAD1 and VvGABA-T2 were around 30% lowercompared to the plants without GA treatment at 12 DBF. However, at near full bloom in the plants treated withGA, GABA levels increased more than two-fold and VvGAD1 was upregulated. These results indicate that GABAlevels are tightly regulated by VvGAD1 and VvGABA-T2 before pollination and that application of GA alters thepattern of GABA accumulation at near full bloom. This is the first report to describe how treatment with GA disruptsthe crosstalk between the pistil and pollen via changes in GABA metabolism during GA-mediated parthenocarpicfruit initiation.

      • Photo-switchable spiropyran-immobilized polystyrene beads

        Spiropyran are demandable photochromic compounds, which are reversible interconvert between ring-closed colorless spiropyran (SP) and colored ring-opened merocyanine (MC) form. Using these reversible photochromic properties, herein we report Spiropyran with catechol coated PS bead a facile fluorescent delivery matrix. The spiropyran with responsive polymer conjugated therapeutic agents within PS bead perform as a drug matrix, and localized the position of the carrier via cellular imaging. Moreover this system also executes to monitor the real-time cellular uptake present within the cytoplasm. In an arena of bioimaging guided delivery matrix, our reported biocompatible fluorescent carrier appears as novel application for fluorescent probe and to identify the cancer cell through monitoring the cargo release.

      • Recyclable and Antimicrobial Nanoparticles Developed from Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@ zwitter-ionic polymer with PEDOT

        The growing microbial resistant that make vulnerable to antibiotic treatment have emerged extended demand to develop new alternative way of antimicrobial therapy. In concern to alternative strategy, we report NIR sensitive Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@polymer with PEDOT nanoparticles for photothermolysis the capture bacterial as well as reusable through isolation of external magnetic fields. Our chosen material combination shows required stability, uniformity and paramagnetic nature that are efficiently convert NIR photo-thermal heat sufficient to utilize it as recyclable antibacterial nanoparticles. During three time of recycling the antibacterial activity are found rapid and equally effective (90% to 100%) against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. When the traditional antibiotics are facing continuous threat from microbial resistant, the recyclable Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@zwitter-ionic polymer with PEDOT antibacterial nanoparticles are promised as reliable sterilizing agents.

        노년층 소비자의 인지연령에 따른 쇼핑성향과 의류점포속성 중요도

        The purposes of this study were 1) to examine the difference between cognitive and actual age, 2) to understand apparel shopping orientations and the importance of store attributes related to cognitive age and 3) to identify relationships between apparel shopping orientations and importance of store attributes in cognitively younger and older groups. For the study, questionnaires were administered to 450 elderly women over 55 years of age. The questionnaires were designed to measure apparel shopping orientations (hedonic, store loyal and brand conscious, careful and planned, confidentd and independent, and economic shopping), importance of store attributes, cognitive age and demographics. Using a base of 204 women, data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, t-test and correlation coeffictents. The results of this study were summarized as follows. 1. The older women saw themselves on average 6. 6 years younger than they really were. 77.6% of the respondents blieved themselves to be cognitively younger. 2. Cognitively younger women were more hedonic and less carefull and planned than cognitively older women in apparel shopping. 3. Cognitively older women thought that proximity and private dressing rooms in apparel stores were more important attributes than cognitively younger women. In terms of apparel store attributes, older consumers placed importances on product quality, fit and size, design suited to their age, attractive price, and the availability to return unsatisfactory products, in orders. 4. In hedonic shopping, cognitively younger women placed importance on well known brands, fashionability, credit card availability, variety of store close together, comfortable store environment, and attractive price, while cognitively older women thought that well known brands and fashionability were important. In store loyal and brand consicous shopping, cognitively younger women placed importance on well known brands, while cognitively older counterparts placed importance on proximity and private dressing rooms. In careful and planned shopping, cognitively younger women assessed comfortable store environment, attractive price, marked-down prices and well known brands as important store attributes. In economic shopping, cognitively younger women placed importance on attractive price, marked-down prices, and variety in one store, while cognitlvely older women placed importance on fit and size.

        패션상표와 기업명 인지수준에 따라 모상표지식이 상표 및 기업명 확장제품 평가에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of brand-related and corporate-realted knowledge on brand-name extension and corporate-name extension, respectively in fashion market. Here, it is designed into three types of brand and corporate awareness; 1) Higher brand awareness and corporate awareness, 2) higher brand awareness and lower corporate awareness, and 3) lower brand awareness and higher corporate awareness. For this study, questionnaires were administered to 700 single women in twenties. The questionnaires were designed to measure evaluations of brand-name extension and corporate-name extension and brand-related and corporate-related knowledge in terms of familiarity, use experience, self-assessed knowledge, evaluation of attributes and attitude. Employing a sample of 621 women, data were analyzed by Multi-Regression analysis. Major findings of this study are summarized as follows; 1) In level of higher brand and corporate awareness, the evaluations of brand-name extension were influenced by corporate-related knowledge such as brand use experience, evaluation of brand attributes and brand attitude. Also, the evaluations of corporate-name extension were influenced by both brand-related knowledge such as brand attitude and corporate-related knowledge such as use experience of product awareness and lower corporate awareness, brand-related knowledge such as evaluation of brand attributes and brand attitude was identified as the important factor in the evaluations of brand-name extension. 3) In level of lower brand awareness and higher corporate awareness, corporate-related knowledge such as attitude toward corporate was identified as the important factor in the evaluations of corporate-name extension.

        패션유통경로내의 하청공장 갈등에 관한 질적 연구

        Fashion marketing channels experience conflicts inevitably because of constant interaction among fabric producers, apparel manufacturers, contractors, and retailers. However, it is rarely that attempts has been made to identify causes of conflicts in distribution channel of fashion industry. The purpose of this study was to explore causes of conflicts from the standpoint of a contractor. For this study, data were collected from the owner or the manager represented with a contractor in fashion maketing channels. By means of in-depth interviews with multiple informants, their statement was analyzed qualitatively. From analysis of the resulting data, the causes of conflict were associated with two broad sets, attitudinal and structural differences between apparel manufacturers and contractors. First, attitudinal sources of conflict were identified as perception of subordinated relationships between channel members, delayed announcement on order changes, difficulties in communication by using different terms, different expectations between channel members in controlling product quality, and lack of credit in inspecting products. Second, structural sources of conflict involved unilateral decision on wages for contracting, lengthy payment period derived from a bill of credit, deficient autonomy in selecting auxiliary suppliers, unreasonable issues on lead time, and unfair transaction in selecting a contractor or inspecting finished products. There are limitations on generalization due to the results based on interviews, but this study will be a useful exploratory step before designing a large scale survey.
