A 42-year-old woman presented with ichthyosiform eruptions on her trunk and buttock which developed 20 days prior to consulatation. She had taken the cholesterol-lowering drug(lovastatin, a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase inhibitor) for 4 months. After stopping the drug, the skin lesions gradually improved and after two months most of the lesions had disappeared. After 3 months of follow up the skin lesions could not be seen any more. Acquired ichthyosis in our patient could be an untoward effect of HMG CoA reductase inhibitor by disturbing the skin lipid metabolism. {Kor J Detmatol 1997;35(3): 546-550)
보안성이 강화된 리눅스 가상화 기반 효율적인 웹 시스템 연구

웹 서비스의 요구가 늘면서, 서비스를 처리하는 웹 서버의 확충이 필수적이다. 웹 서버가 등장한 초기에는 메인프레임(Mainframe)이나 유닉스(UNIX) 시스템을 많이 사용하였으나, 최근에는 가격대비 성능이 우수한 x86시스템이 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나, x86 시스템을 이용한 웹 서버들은 성능에 비해 낮은 CPU 활용률을 보이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 서버 운영의 변화를 살펴보고, 최근 각광받고 있는 서버 가상화(Server Virtualization) 기술을 이용하여 유휴자원을 활용하고 보안성과 효율성을 강화된 웹 시스템에 관하여 제시하고자 한다.

In this paper a new distributive control system for BA(Building Automation) lighting control used on general microprocessors is presented. For optimal lighting control and saving energy, The system have to control the group and pattern lighting control as well as individual light control at one time. In this paper, These functions are accomplished with low-cost and simple microprocessor. A plurality of modulated light control terminals are connected to the central control unit through a pair of power line. This power line provide both power and signal to the each terminal and the data is transmitted through the cyclic time division multiplex transmission. With this structure a low-cost distributive control system for lighting applications has been achieved, allowing energy and saving maintenance and increasing of the reliability of light control system.
생체전위를 이용한 중증 운동장애자들을 위한 컴퓨터 접근제어장치 설계

- In this paper, we describe implementation of a computer access device for the severly motor-disability. Many people with severe motor disabilities need an augmentative communication technology. Those who are totally paralyzed, or "locked-in" cannot use conventional augmentative technologies, all of which require some measure of muscle control. The forehead is often the last site to suffer degradation in cases of severe disability and degenerative disease. For example, In ALS(Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and MD(Muscular dystrophy) the ocular motorneurons and ocular muscles are usually spared permitting at least gross eye movements, but not precise eye pointing. We use brain and body forehead bio-potentials in a novel way to generate multiple signals for computer control inputs. A bio-amplifier within this device separates the forehead signal into three frequency channels. The lowest channel is responsive to bio-potentials resulting from an eye motion, and second channel is the band pass derived between 0.5 and 45Hz, falling within the accepted Electroencephalographic(EEG) range. A digital processing station subdivides this region into eleven components frequency bands using FFT algorithm. The third channel is defined as an Electromyographic(EMG) signal. It responds to contractions of facial muscles and is well suited to discrete on/off switch closures, keyboard commands. These signals are transmitted to a PC that analyzes in a time series and a frequency region and discriminates user's intentions. That software graphically displays user's bio-potential signals in the real time, therefore user can see their own bio-potentials and control their physiological signals little by little after some training sessions. As a result, we confirmed the performance and availability of the developed system with experimental user's bio-potentials.
