Voltage Distribution of Power Source in Large AMOLED Displays
2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.48 No.I
The voltage distribution of power lines in large Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode (AMOLED) displays was investigated as a function of panel size, OLED material, power line material and VDD structure in order to improve global brightness uniformity. In addition, the power source voltage distribution was investigated to determine the effect on crosstalk. These results indicate that new OLED materials with high efficiency and VDD lines made of a low-resistance material are essential for AMOLED panels larger than 2000 diagonally. Crosstalk was found to be due mainly to the abrupt voltage change of the power source on panels. A new mesh VDD structure is suggested as a solution to this problem.

Various properties of ZnSe thin films grown on GaAs substrates by using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) have been investigated. Photoluminescence (PL) measurement show the high optical quality of the samples in terms of the narrow linewidth, the strong luminescence intensity of band edge emission, and the temperature dependence of the luminescence properties. The dislocation density is estimated as 9.485 $\times$ 10$^7$ dis/cm$^2$ by using XRD measurements. Serious degradation of the crystallinity is not observed in the PL and the XRD results. However, the photocurrent measurement shows various deep states related with defects and impurities located at the heterointerface, which strongly stresses the importance of this measurement for evaluating the quality of thin films. The growth of low temperature buffer to improve the quality further is discussed.

We describe a simple method to find the ground-state energy for many-fermion systems via adiffusive time-evolving block decimation method. Matrix product states are used as candidatesfor an approximate ground state. We consider fermion exchange effects caused by hopping whileupdating the matrix product states consistently. This method is applicable to a wide class of fermionsystems. We test this method in a spinless fermion system by comparing the ground-state energyin the thermodynamic limit to the exact value.
Vol.9 No.10
African American history cannot be discussed without racism, resistance, and jazz. Jazz was born in the late 19th century and early 20th century, when racism in the United States reached its peak, and the music led by African Americans had become popular music of the day before it became traditional music. This thesis aims to examine historical and social backgrounds and how anti-racism was expressed in music. It is believed that any country in pursuit of freedom and civil rights has its own history of movements that, whether by a group or an individual, expressed their voices in music to resist the establishment or injustice of power and to bring changes to society. This study particularly focuses on social backgrounds of a song “Strange fruit” by African American jazz singer Billie Holiday and analyzes the lyrics closely. “Strange fruit” is a song protesting against lynching of black people and racism at a time when their status and human rights were severely damaged by white people. It is meaningful in that “Strange fruit” is not only the first protest song, but both the song and its singer are also considered as one of the most timeless songs and singers that influenced the American music scene.
Topological Entanglement Entropy in Bilayer Quantum Hall Systems
2014 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.64 No.8
We calculate the topological entanglement entropy in bilayer quantum Hall systems, dividing theset of quantum numbers into four parts. This topological entanglement entropy allows us to drawa phase diagram in the parameter space of layer separation and tunneling amplitude. We performa finite-size scaling analysis of the topological entanglement entropy in order to see the quantumphase transition clearly.
