Due to climate change and aging of reservoirs, damage to embankment slopes is increasing. However, the safety diagnosis of the reservoir slope ismainly conducted by visual observation, and the time and economic cost are formidable to apply soil mechanical tests and slope stability analysis. Accordingly, this study presented a predicting method for the compaction and strength characteristics of the reservoir embankment soil using a portablestatic cone penetration test. The predicted items consisted of dry density, cohesion, and internal friction angle, which are the main factors of slopestability analysis. Portable static cone penetration tests were performed at 19 reservoir sites, and prediction equations were constructed from thecorrelation between penetration resistance data and test results of soil samples. The predicted dry density and strength parameters showed a correlationwith test results between R2 0.40 and 0.93, and it was found to replace the test results well when used as input data for slope stability analysis (R20.8134 or more, RMSE 0.0320 or less). In addition, the prediction equations for the minimum safety factor of the slope were presented using thepenetration resistance and gradient. As a result of comparing the predicted safety factor with the analysis results, R2 0.5125, RMSE 0.0382 incoarse-grained soil, R2 0.4182 and RMSE 0.0628 in fine-grained soil. The results of this study can be used as a way to improve the existing slopesafety diagnosis method, and are expected to be used to predict the characteristics of various soils and inspect slopes.

최근 들어 ‘리더 포비아'라는 신조어가 생길 정도로 리더십 기피 현상, 즉 리더십발휘동기의 저하 현상이 사회적으로 확산되고 있다. 그러나 리더십발휘동기의 선행변수에 대한 학술적인 연구가 아직 부족하여 이에 대한 체계적인 이해나 해결방안을 모색하기가 힘든 상황이다. 특히, 집단수준의 선행변수, 그리고 집단수준과 개인수준의 선행변수들의 상호작용 효과에 대한 연구가 시급하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 리더십발휘동기의 선행요건을 보다 정확하게 이해하기 위하여, 팀 개인주의라는 집단수준 변수와 목표지향성이라는 개인수준 변수가 리더십발휘동기에 미치는 영향을 살펴본다. 또한 이 두 변수의 교차수준 상호작용효과를 탐구하며, 이 때 목표지향은 학습목표지향, 성과입증목표지향, 성과회피목표지향이라는 세 가지 하위 차원으로 나누어 그 효과가 어떻게 달라지는지 정교하게 탐색한다. 연구모형을 테스트하기 위하여 우리는 국내 대기업에 근무하는 43개팀, 222명의 조직구성원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였고, 위계적 선형모형을 사용하여 가설을 검정하였다. 그 결과, 개인의 학습목표지향, 그리고 성과입증목표지향이 높을수록 리더십발휘동기가 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 성과회피목표지향이 높은 사람들은 리더십발휘동기가 낮은 것으로 드러났다. 가설과 달리, 팀 개인주의는 개인의 리더십발휘동기에 대하여 아무 유의한 영향이 없었다. 한편 팀 개인주의와 개인목표지향의 교차수준 상호작용 효과를 테스트한 결과, 성과입증목표지향은 가설대로 팀 개인주의가 리더십발휘동기에 주는 부적 영향을 더 약화하였다. 그러나 학습목표지향이 높을수록 팀 개인주의가 리더십발휘동기에 주는 부적 영향이 약화될 것이라는 예측과 달리 오히려 강화되는 것으로 발견하였다. 성과회피목표지향은 아무런 조절효과가 없었다. 본 연구는 그 동안 연구되지 않았던 개인목표지향성이 리더십발휘동기의 선행변수임을 보였고, 특히 팀 개인주의와 목표지향성이 상호작용효과가 있다는 것을 밝혀 리더십발휘동기 연구를 이론적으로 확장하는 기여를 하였다. 또한 잠재적 리더를 선발하고 양성함에 있어 개인목표지향성과 팀의 문화를 중요하게 고려해야 한다는 것을 환기함으로써 실무적으로 기여하였다. Recently, a social trend termed "leadership phobia," which refers to a phenomenon characterized by avoiding leadership roles, has received coverage in South Korea. This trend, indicating a decreased motivation to lead, calls for further studies on the antecedents of motivation to lead. Therefore, the primary purpose of this study is to identify individual- and team-level factors that influence motivation to lead and test their main effects as well as interaction effects. Specifically, we focus on individual goal orientation and team individualism. In this context, we distinguish between three different types of goal orientation: learning goal orientation, performance prove goal orientation, and performance avoid goal orientation. We conducted a paper-and-pencil survey among 222 team members from 43 teams in a large company in South Korea and employed hierarchical linear modeling to test our hypotheses. Our findings revealed that both learning goal orientation and performance prove goal orientation positively influenced motivation to lead. Conversely, performance avoid goal orientation exhibited a negative association with motivation to lead. Interestingly, contrary to our initial prediction, team individualism did not demonstrate any significant main effect on motivation to lead. Among the cross-level interaction effects between the three types of goal orientation and team individualism, we found that the interaction between performance prove goal orientation and team individualism was statistically significant, aligning with our expectations. Specifically, for team members with a high level of performance prove goal orientation, team individualism had a detrimental effect on motivation to lead. Conversely, for team members with a low level of performance prove goal orientation, team individualism had a positive effect on motivation to lead. However, our hypothesis suggesting that learning goal orientation would amplify the negative impact of team individualism on motivation to lead was not supported. Surprisingly, learning goal orientation weakened the negative effect instead. On the other hand, the interaction between performance avoid goal orientation and team individualism did not yield any significant findings. These results have important theoretical and practical implications, which are discussed further in this study.
Electrical Observation of the Effective Mass in a Single-Crystal WTe2 Layer

In order to investigate the eective mass of a single-crystalline WTe2 layer, we measured the temperature dependence of the Shubnikov-de Haas oscillation. In this method, the magnetoresistance with a perpendicular magnetic eld is monitored by changing the temperature from 1.9 K to 6 K. The extracted eective mass of WTe2 for magnetic elds ranging from 6.8 T to 8.7 T is m = 0:327m0 which is almost constant in this range. The theoretical expectation values of m=m0 for the valence and the conduction bands are 0.58 and 0.26, respectively; the experimental value of the eective mass is between these two values. Thus, our results clearly show that single-crystalline WTe2 has both electron- and hole-like pockets that simultaneously contribute to electrical transport in the channel.

This clinical report describes a case involving a 74-year-old woman with maxillary edentulism who was successfully treated using an implant-supported hybrid prosthesis. The framework of the prosthesis was fabricated using polyetherketoneketone (PEKK), which is a high-performance polymer, and individual lithium disilicate ceramic crowns were cemented for optimal esthetics. No mechanical or biological complications were observed during a 3-year follow-up period. Further clinical studies and long-term clinical data regarding the usefulness of PEKK as a framework material for dental prostheses are necessary.
