How to Intervene in FX Market : Market Microstructure Approach

This paper proposes a market microstructure model of FX intervention to analyze the relationship between central bank intervention and the characteristics of the foreign exchange market. The implication of our model is that the characteristic of the exchange rate movements around central bank intervention is determined by portfolio managers’ trading intensity and their boundary weights on the fundamentalist’s view, market-makers’ price adjustment speed and their speculative trading intensity. When the portfolio managers’ trading intensity is low (thin market), central bank must operate heavy interventions to move spot exchange rate toward a target level. As the portfolio managers’ boundary weight (minimum or maximum) on the fundamentalist’s view increases, the influence of intervention increases. When the market-makers’ price adjustment speed is fast, central bank must operate small interventions. Overall, this paper suggests that central banks need to have superior information on the characteristics of the foreign exchange market at the time the intervention operations are performed.

In this paper, the term of "water tanks" means tanks for drinking water. There are various types of cold water reservoirs, according to on the purpose of use, installation area and climatic conditions. On the other hand, various types of reservoirs are constructed in different shapes with different type of construction methods using various types of materials. There are many problems have to be solved. In particular, materials, structures, volume estimation, installation technique, and maintenance must be considered from the view point of sanitation. The quality of the water supplied changes with the way the water is stored in the water tank of supply facilities. From this point of view, the construction and maintenance problem points are different for each type of water storange tank. This study is limited restricted to the problems encountered in the construction and operation of concrete, steel and FRP water reservoirs and high tank with out regard to locality or other particular condition. This paper outlines these problems, introduces a few results of investigation, research work, and suggests a future approach.
Thuraya 정지궤도 위성을 이용한 선박용 IoT 단말 장치 설계 및 구현

Satellite communication is not used by many people like mobile communication, but it is a necessary technology for public service and communication services, such as providing the Internet in military, disaster, remote education and medical services, island areas, and infrastructure vulnerable areas. However, on ships and aircraft, mobile communications requiring base stations are either unavailable or restricted in their use. In this paper, we used a Raspberry Pi board as the terminal device to communicate network through satellite modem and PPP protocol, and implemented two-way data link using the text message of the modem to connect to the Thuraya geo-stationary orbit network. In addition, I/O devices were connected to the controller of the terminal equipment to design and implement an IoT device system for ships that can remotely access the system under control and control I/Os and transmit measured data through various sensors. 위성통신은 이동통신처럼 많은 사람이 사용하지는 않으나 군사용, 재난용, 원격 교육용 및 의료용, 도서 지역, 인프라 취약 지역에서의 인터넷 제공 등 공공성, 통신서비스를 위하여 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 하지만 선박이나 항공기에서는 기지국이 필요한 휴대용 이동통신들은 사용 불가능 하거나 사용에 제한을 받는다. 본 논문에서는 본 논문에서는 단말 장치의 제어기로 라즈베리 파이를 사용하여 위성 모뎀과 PPP 프로토콜을 통한 네트워크 통신을 하였으며 모뎀의 문자 메시지 기능을 이용하여 양방향 데이터 링크를 구현하여 Thraya 정지궤도위성 네트워크망에 접속하였다. 그리고 단말장치의 제어기에 I/O 장치들을 이에 연결하여 통신 시설이 갖춰지지 않은 곳에서 제어 대상 시스템에 원격으로 접속하여 I/O들을 제어하고 각종 센서를 통하여 계측한 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 선박용 IoT 단말 장치 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.
